Spot a Felony, Swat Some Flies
Submitted by roythom on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 00:29A few years ago I came across:
MISPRISION OF FELONY: U.S. CODE, TITLE 18, PART 1, CHAPTER 1, SECTION 4:
‘Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some Judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both'.
If any of the un-American behavior seen recently seen at GOP conventions constitutes a felony, then there could be a lot of Romney delegates feeling very uncomfortable if Misprision of Felony is brought into play at a local or national level.
It would be helpful if a Ron Paul inclined lawyer could offer free advice on whether this US Code is still extant, whether any of the publicized behavior at conventions could be construed as a felony, and if so what can be done about it.
It might also be something Ben Swann would like to cover if the Code is, indeed, still extant.

Ben Swann is in no way an expert on the law, or the GOP rules, or pretty much anything. He is a nobody with a shit job at a local affiliate who will likely not even have that after Romney gets the nomination and he is proven wrong.
