*VIDEO* National Committeeman message to both Paulites and Romulans

This speech was given at the Minnesota State Convention by one our committeeman Jeff Johnson. Great sentiment. I wish more at the RNC and other state conventions saw it this way.

That was rather nice

He doesn't have to be a Ron Paul fan in order to try to understand both sides of the issue, address the concerns of both sides fairly, and try to bring opponents together. He called for every member in that room to grow.

"Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." -- Thomas Paine

He's only smart enough to see the writing on the wall.

This may be like rats from a sinking ship soon. Old guard politicians begging us to keep their jobs.

Nice sentiment, but it was dripping with politics.

I gotta have respect for any

I gotta have respect for any who goes up there and addresses the elephant in the room. The most irritating thing to me in any setting is people who love to have things that you "aren't supposed to talk about" and speak in innuendos and facial expressions and don't openly address what everybody is thinking. Very refreshing to see someone with the balls to slap everyone in the face with it.

BTW, I should have given credit to the person who recorded this video: Youtube avatar MNCD4Conservative.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

I really like this guy and

I really like this guy and appreciate his sentiments.

Why I would consider voting for Romney

In the general if he is nominated:

In short, we are winning. Regardless of the nomination outcome, we hold a significant amount of power over the GOP and they are waking up to it. Since this is the case, I know that Romney will at the least be answerable to us and will have to pander to us.

With Obama, this is not the case whatsoever. With Obama we will continue to see his NDAA indefinite detention agenda pushed forward. At least with a Romney president, he will be, in theory, very mindful of his party's prevailing centers of power.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

see Nevada: 'Romney to establish shadow party'

"At least with a Romney president, he will be, in theory, very mindful of his party's prevailing centers of power."

who are you trying to fool?

what about this. Obama

what about this. Obama promised to end indefinate detention, and the patriot act. These issues were huge for many progrssives, and his base that he supposedly needs to answer too. Yet he didn't do this. Romney doesn't even lie and say he is opposes these issues. Do you really think he is going to stop the NDAA push when he won't even lie and say he is going to on the campaign trail?

The problem is your paradigm is wrong. These people don't answer to us, they sometimes pander to us, but their strings are pulled by others. I would never consider voting for romney.

A sad state

of politics indeed :(

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

Why is he answerable to us now?

I don't understand that. If they ignored us as they've been doing and get what they want, and still get rom in, and know they can do it again next time again...

It's just like the platform argument. They ignore the platform and we still vote them in. Rom won't be answerable to US, he only will answer to his money masters.

All it will do is switch from arguing with rank-and-file Obama apologists, to rank-and-file Romney apologists. The Statist/Globalist side wins either way, and we true patriots are left arguing with the apologists of one side or another.

I'd rather argue with the so-called "left" apologists than the so-called "right" apologists personally.

Of course

every thing you said is probably right. Like I said before. It seriously makes me cringe when I think about Obamas NDAA agenda. :(

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

Obamney IS Rombama.

He would sling you and I into indefinite prison confinement just as fast as Obama would. He would follow NO rules.

Just look at his underhanded/criminal actions that he and the RNC have pulled during this primary election cycle.
If they will do this BEFORE he's elected, what do you think he will be capable of AFTER he gets his hands on the levers of power.
He's a freaking psychopath, just like Obama.

I agree

that Romney is no better than Obama. All I am saying is that as republicans we have more control over Romney vs the negligible power to affect Obama.

I do not want to see Romney in Office any more than Obama.

IDK. I love liberty and freedom. I really, really cringe every time I think about Obama's NDAA agenda. :(

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

Here's the difference

and perhaps it may not be as important to others as it is to me.

Obama and Romney are largely the same, we're going to see the same BS curtailing of our personal freedoms under Mitt as we see now. Romney's not going to stop plans to put 30,000 drones over our country to watch us. He's not going to say that indefinite detention of American citizens is wrong. He's not going to take this country an inch off course from whatever shitstorm we're heading for.

But the alternative is telling an incumbent President that the shit he's been pulling is fine by reelecting him. I'm not okay with that. And if Romney wins, when he pulls the same shit, he should be sent the very same message, "NO!". I think you're right, by then it's not going to be just the voters telling him he's fucking up, it'll be members in his own party, members who are in important chairs because they believe in liberty and freedom, just like you.

Maybe Ron Paul's not going to win, but I think thanks to what he, his campaign and supporters of personal freedom and the Constitution are doing, we are going to see a sea change in the GOP. With any luck, Romney will be the last warmongering, amendment-stripping dickfaced shitbag this party will ever elect.

How do we have any control over them?

It's time to realize that Obama's NDAA agenda was voted FOR by most GOP members. It's not just Obama's agenda.
Romney is even more gung-ho on the War On Terra, than Obama is. He'll bomb half the planet, trying to swat an imaginary fly with bunker-busters.

In that room he should have added

we all stand for upholding the Constitution of the United States & that's one plus - Paul supporters honor the Constitution & Bill of Rights & our Natural Rights as freemen & women..Thank you Minnesota and all States that are rallying to send Delegates to Tampa.

Working to free the hemp seed - Thanks to Congressman Paul's efforts HR 1831. Peace

Great speech, but....

Sorry, I am NOT voting for Romney. In fact since my state is a swing state, I am going to vote for Obama to make SURE that Romney does not win. The Republican Party can once again, like in 2008 with McCain, need to learn their lesson by losing the general election because the GOP once again has decided to nominate a moderate.

As long as the GOP continue to nominate these moderates and RINOS, they will continue to lose. Plus, we will have another shot for a liberty candidate in 2016 (Rand?) if Obama wins.

Rand Paul 2016 for Peace

Why give any validation

to Obama's NDAA agenda? If you are set on NOT voting for Romney, don't throw your vote in with someone who would throw us into prison on a whim.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

If Romney were to win...

we would have to wait EIGHT YEARS before we can elect a liberty candidate.

Sorry...

I want RAND PAUL in 2016

Rand Paul 2016 for Peace

lemme see...

...would that speech persuade Michele Bachmann to be as welcoming to Ron Paul for what he truly is; a constitution-minded, wholly pro-life, fiscal conservative - I mean to the degree that she(and her buddy Palin, maybe even Ann Coulter; the girls Sean Hannity just LOVES) would OPENLY ENDORSE Ron Paul???

NO, it wouldn't; so forget the old Republican-pep-rally routine that remembers and idolizes Reagan, but still dismisses Barry Goldwater's absolute disgust for government spending, waste, fraud, and abuse(that Reagan spoke about on his behalf in the mid-60's)!!!

The emotional manipulation is enough to make me PUKE - underneath it all, they truly do not believe or adhere to the words coming out of their own mouths!

2 Thessalonians 2:11: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

1 Timothy 4:2: Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron

This revolution says; ENOUGH with the lies and manipulation and charade ... we DEMAND leadership, and 100% elevation and conformity to TRUE STATESMANSHIP ... NOW!!!!

They fight against us

But we are smarter and stronger, which is evidenced by their lying and cheating. In other words, we are winning.

This means in order to continue being successful, we cannot throw the baby out with the bathwater. We have to build in-roads with the establishment. This is how most GOP regulars think. They vote for republicans because the are republicans. Once we come to power, that becomes an advantage. If you don't believe me, take Kurt Bills for instance. He was fully endorsed and had fully endorsed Ron Paul for president. Most of the Old Guard Neocons here were in support of neocon Pete Hegseth. And even though he lost, the entire party has rallied behind Kurt Bills.

Yes, our opposition is trying to cheat us. But when we win, make no mistake we are winning, most republicans will rally behind our liberty candidates.

Ron Paul - Intellectual hero

..and, I don't mean to be harsh...

...or direct my comments at the youth football coach here; I am just all about saying deliberate/specific things, substantively, cutting through the soft cushioning veneer so people don't get upset! We should all be upset - OFFENDED, actually that not only that this mess has gotten this bad(Obama's re-election is CERTAIN with a Romney nomination); but that we are "hated" for our patriotism!

I do it(write and speak) as a hobby in order to prick someone's conscience(stick the spade in to plant that seed, not just throw them wildly at random). Look, we are saying things are BAD; stop sugar-coating it ... we all have Republican neighbors, co-workers, family member who appear on the surface just like our excellent and sincere speaker here ... but at the end of the day, they KNOW the system, they KNOW there is corruption, they KNOW the kingmakers, they KNOW their own careers, needs, desires, and expenses; and they vote for THEMSELVES and the preservation of THEIR lifestyle and creature comforts ... this is WHY Ron Paul is a threat ... because they(at the top), and they(at the bottom); may be FORCED to make an honest living and labor with their hands as we have been forced to do in order to FUND their unchallenging daily existence.

Our network is not made up of folks with unlimited access to money, political cronies, corporate jobs, or university scholarships etc. etc. etc. And we do not HATE the successful, or the upper-middle-class executive who coaches our children in sports; we do not like the selfishness and the disconnect that renders them unable to realize ALL MEN are created equal, and are individually and uniquely talented ... and given an opportunity to succeed ... there's no telling what they might accomplish, or, give back later in life while enjoying their LIBERTY; rather than existing under a government microscope that just exists to serve itself, and grow in enzymatic form as our founders warned us it would unless we CONTROL it.

We have come to change it, and then we have every intention of controlling it; and so, the tension can be directly traced to the HYPOCRISY of those who profess that they are proponents of every good American conservative value under the Sun, but yet openly assault, mock, ridicule, dismiss, and marginalize the STATESMAN Ron Paul and his supporters for NO GOOD REASON other than majority opinion and Grand Old Party tradition - the very same tradition that has, over the last 4 decades I have been on this Earth, destroyed my opportunities, indebted myself through a carrot-and-stick approach before I woke up, and has rendered my children as apparent SLAVES to government who will not only never be afforded an opportunity to honor me/care for me later in life for my hard work on their behalf because they will have to dump me also onto the government dependance role because their "excesses" will never be allowed, or, will be confiscated!

There is SO MUCH at stake here; and I am glad he recognizes the tension; but if he cannot see it, from OUR perspective ... his words profit nothing.

I was raised to conform to this system of Romanism; and when the bottom came out on me, and the socialism overtook me, it was TOO LATE - I am offended because I was HONEST, but then, I was entertaining thoughts that I would have to become a criminal in the eyes of my government in order to labor and put food on our table, and a roof over our heads - now - still conforming(and working again, Thank God!) - I hurt, and represent, and fight for those who have not found work - and cannot find work; at a point in our nation's history when we are faced with a very real possibility of going full blown communist, unto the permanent dejection/negation of every last ounce of honest, voluntary, profitable effort mankind can muster up for the GOOD of his fellow man ... all so a bunch of insulated adolescents who have never worked a day in their lives can keep playing dictator/potentate/senator because they serve money, and refuse to retain the Creator in their knowledge.

Our founders warned us; and they placed the blame well ahead of time upon "we the people"; because we are the electorate, who would tolerate the immoral to shape our culture and hijack our politics if we chose not to remain reverent to the laws of Nature's God ... and so here we are; and although "we the people" over the past two generations have allowed it to deteriorate for my lifetime(which is also Ron Paul's public career), I stand with you and SALUTE every last patriot who has promoted this cause as a 1st generation PATRIOT reversing direction and paddling against the current. We now walk confidently into these "tension-filled" rooms with foreknowledge that we will be "hated" for daring to re-instate character, integrity, morality, decency, common sense, and real American fearless fortitude back into the Executive Branch of our government(as well as lower legislative offices)!!!

It is an honor to be called a Ron Paul delegate with you!!!

Now there's the respect we should have received all along

Still not voting for Romney, and if there is a decent Paul candidate for committeeman not him either, but we can work with that kind of attitude. The Paul haters and those in between just need to realize we're not usurpers but legitimately trying to make the party stand up for what it claims it stands for but doesn't. Once they do it will be much easier to work together towards common goals. Compromising our principles for expediency is not along that path though.

Nice speech, but we're still not voting for Romney.

If "we're all Republicans," why are the Romney folks working so hard to defraud their fellow Republicans in caucus after caucus?

The actual policy differences between Romeny and Obama so minimal, that they hardly merit overlooking the mass corruption we have witnesssed from the Romney campaign.

I don't loathe myself enough to vote for Romney.

Paul ante portas.

The actual policy differences

Hr may have made it easier for the Romney clan to slide over to Ron Paul. He got the issues out in the open and drained a big chunk of the emotional charge.
We just need to get it done.

Nope. We aint. He's a wise man who has that figured out

He can see the future melting away for the GOP unless they stop abusing Ron Paul supporters. Get patriots in leadership positions like his! Participation is our obligation. Remain to see patriots take over. The process is intriguing. The Ron Paul patriots are everywhere. Liberty's Rising! Happy 76th BD year Dr. Paul! We love you! The prophet!

Well said, we here in Maine can see the fraud against

not only the Paul supporters, but also against AMERICA.

If Republicans were so upright and honest they would rally behind our President Ron Paul. Even Romney and all those who support him are new cheats and perpetrators of fraud like those who chant for Obama.

fearless brave joyful peaceful loving grateful, compassionate

Big badda bump. This is

Big badda bump. This is exactly the attitude amongst the establishment that is missing here in Georgia.

NON CONCUPISCES

Minnesota Nice...

This man is a genius and sees things from a different perspective than most of the GOP establishment. He realizes the importance of the GOP embracing this movement and moving forward with us because without us their is no future for the GOP. If the GOP embraced Ron Paul in 2008 then they would have had a Republican candidate polling 30 points higher than Obama today instead they once again try to fight change and they will lose until they learn. Lets hope they wise up fast!

I don't know, sounds nice but....

Given the treatment we've recieved from the news media and the GOP, I really don't know. Reconciliation would be nice, but in my opinion apology or at the very least, accountability is in order.

This also does not make up for other states which have chosen to violate rules, lie and cheat to win delegates for mitt romney. And there is apparently no interest in investigating the electronic voting machine's voting fraud...or in Maine..the blatant vote counting fraud.

Am glad this convention went well, I've watched nearly all of them and this one was the best run so far...but in my home State of WA, I attended the county convention as a delegate and was appauled by the treatment received from the romney campaign. Those guys play dirty. Now, I've already heard of efforts to ban any recording of the State convention in WA. Sounds like more dirty deeds are planned and they wish to do them in the dark.

As a result....sorry....Romney will never get my vote. There is no open debate at these events as should be, or even speeches as were done in Minnesota. The romney camp just wants people to vote on what they've heard from the 24/7 romney infomercial (aka the news). Most have not even taken a close look at the two candidates, their history, their plans...anything. I do not see Romney as representing conservative republican values, and if he says he is, I do not believe him.

As nice as it would be to have peace, there can be no peace without truth and justice. The romney campaign seems to not want to deal in either. Push Romney on us like you're doing and say hello to Obama for another four. Win it fairly and then Romney would have my vote....that simple.
