Big Ag, Monsanto take over research universities...

(NaturalNews) Back in the old days before food and agricultural corporations consolidated into the behemoths we know them as today, agricultural institutions of higher learning were dedicated to conducting unbiased research into cutting-edge food production and crop systems that benefited society as a whole. But today, these former "land-grant" universities have largely mutated into pro-industry, propaganda machines funded and controlled by corporate agro-giants like Monsanto that steer research efforts in favor of genetically-modified (GMOs) and chemical-based crop systems.

In a scathing indictment of this sinister, and rapidly growing, form of agricultural fascism, Tom Philpott from Mother Jones dissects a recent Food & Water Watch (FWW) report in which it is openly disclosed that corporate agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry have basically bought out agricultural research education as we know it. Colleges and universities that once received the bulk of their research funding from the federal government now receive it from Monsanto, DuPont, and others, and their research efforts reflect this.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Let us rejoice that the

Let us rejoice that the bureaucrats are no longer redistributing wealth to these practitioners of natural selection and other forms of witchcraft!

They are getting their funding now from big giant megacorporations, just like Christ intended!

Wait a minute, aren't megacorporations evil too? Oh no, everybody is evil! What do to, what to do?

I shall depart now to the mountains to live with heavily armed Jeebus people and learn canning techniques.

Frightening isn't it!

Just like many supposedly organic, natural food companies are really owned by companies like Kellogs, etc. Our media is the same way, it's supposedly only owned by a few corporations, leading us to not have real independent journalism (except on blogs like the DP, etc.) . In fact, it seems that corporations own us, they own our representatives, and they own many important facets of our lives. Gee, I think we are owned and chronically manipulated.

Could this be why we love Ron Paul?

Of course, it is, because Ron Paul symbolizes freedom. He is not just an amazing man with an important message, he is a symbol of freedom. And, it is because we are not free, that we love Ron Paul. He symbolizes our potential freedom!

Ron Paul for President in 2012!

Thanks Betty

Great comment.

For me the last straw would be when the Daily Paul is taken over by some MSM outlet.

You are most welcome!

The more I think about this concept of WHY we love Dr. Paul, the more I think I should write a post specifically about this issue. The media certainly doesn't address it do they?

If there is a greater understanding of WHY we love Dr. Paul then I believe that this enhanced understanding can only help this movement grow.

Give me your thoughts!

Good idea

Yes write a post about why we love the dood doctor.
Man of honesty integrity...reminds me of what one lobbyst said about Paul quote "he has sewn pockets" meaning he would not take any money from lobbysts.

the free market at work?

the free market at work?

No, I don't see this as the free market at work

I'm interested to hear your further opinion, as I initially thought the same. But it's not the free market at work (that caused these corrupt associations) because, e.g., re drugs: you MUST then have treatments go through FDA trials - trials IT must approve (good luck) and done on ITS terms (that might include giving YOUR treatment PLUS another you do NOT approve of); the FDA apparently only approves trials IF the patent holder already has support of a major drug co; the FDA apparently receives money (fees) from drug cos; there can be conflicts of interest re FDA employees with drug co ties; plus, competing interests CAN'T necessarily make a claim of a "cure" (such as re a vitamin or supp or even regimen involving diet & exercise), unless they've conducted clinical trials (see above). That's my understanding from cases like Dr. Burzynski's, re cancer, and "diabetes warriors" off drugs via primarily a "paleo" diet. We need to rein in these all-powerful federal agencies. Vote for Ron Paul!
