Ron "Paul Fest" Gains More Celebrities! Country Stars Burns and Poe Make Huge Announcement!
Submitted by Zak Carter on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 19:19In this interview with event spokesman Josh Tolley!
"Burns & Poe is country-soaked, adrenaline-driven, fun-lovin’, on the rocks entertainment that makes for a don’t-blink, hold-tight, roller-coaster-of-a-ride, live show. The best part…it’s 100% pure Burns & Poe.
Described as the Sonny & Cher of Country, Burns & Poe perform side-by-side, bantering back and forth with playful jibs and jabs, and sharing vocal talents that are equally identifiable, splitting their performances right down the middle."
"Burns is a founding member of the Grammy-nominated, gold recording trio Trick Pony, who won both an American Music Award and an Academy of Country Music Award. Burns has also penned songs recorded by Joe Diffie, Hootie & The Blowfish, Sammy Kershaw, Anita Cochran and Trick Pony (who scored three Top 20 and two Top 10 singles on the country charts).
Poe, formerly a Dreamworks recording artist, has been an integral part of national touring bands, singing backup and playing bass to lock in the rhythm section behind the likes of international acts Dierks Bentley and Hank Williams, Jr.
In 2007, the two made official introductions at an audition for the Trick Pony leading lady; Poe landed the gig. In what seemed to be just moments later, the trio disbanded…leaving the door wide open for the creation of Burns & Poe
Burns & Poeis a “Tequila Sunrise.” Sweet, syrupy grenadine with the tang of a fresh-picked orange is the lovely and bubbly Michelle Poe. Her silky smooth vocals lend a woman’s touch to the songs she and Burns write and perform together.
Keith adds the burn to the mix with a hot but “goes down easy” raspy voice and charisma reminiscent of The Eagles, Don Henley with a twist of Mellencamp for an added punch.
Shaken or stirred, the pairing of seasoned artists is a combustible combination straight up! Their magical songwriting chemistry mixed with their authentic musical talents make for an all-natural, highly intoxicating concoction.
Burns & Poe signed with Blue Steel Records in 2009 and have been on the road performing at shows from coast to coast. Since Keith Burns and Michelle Poe came together in 2006, they’ve secured a variety of sponsors including Taylor Guitars, Peavey Guitars, Dan Post Boots, Silpada Designs and Crow’s Nest Trading Company."

This guy in Burns & Poe is
This guy in Burns & Poe is for government control of the internet, listen at 8:03 ...this is not a recording artist I would patronize at all and he sure doesn't agree with Dr Paul, Music Artists should make majority of their money from playing concerts IMHO.

Even though I won't be
Even though I won't be attending, I'd love to see Jackson Browne there. Although a misguided progressive, Jackson at least has a social conscience which very likely might be receptive to much of Ron's message.
Incredibly talented man ...
thumbs down on JB
I saw him perform last summer. He turned me off.
He had a line of guitars and compared himself to opening act with comment something like "I have more guitars, so I win."
In the middle of his set, he said something like "I'm glad I'm not a Republican."
Humor, Possibly?
;)
Personally, I wouldn't want to be associated with the name, Republican, either as the situation currently exists.
You have to actually LISTEN to his works to grasp his political bent. Just listen to "Drums of War" and "Going Down to Cuba" among NUMEROUS other tracks. Apparently, Jackson's mannerisms turned you off which I can certainly understand if one is a card-carrying neo-conservative Republican. I'm NOT saying that you are, but the latter type would most CERTAINLY be turned off by Jackson.
I'm pretty sure he's not on the list...
There are plenty of artists that have said nice things about Ron Paul and/or gave an outright endorsement - and we also have people on the advisory board like Tom Bryant - http://www.reverbnation.com/bryantband - that have personal connections to rock stars and know where they stand...

Paul-a-palooza.
This should be turned into a traveling show. I'd love to attend here in the Bay Area.

Yeah...
I agree..but tours are rough..I speak from experience! I'll stick with promoting concerts and festivals until I'm a multimillionaire and can properly put on tours...
So...not anytime soon!:p

former Misfits frontman
former Misfits frontman Michale Graves is also playing at the festival!
He has supported Dr Paul since the 2008 election and donates all the time.
I'm so stoked - he is one of my favorite singers. I've seen him live twice and he is coming here again in July.

Michale Graves Rocks!
Not only will he be there, he's helping us promote the festival and has even been on one of our organizers conference calls!

Looks like a CD purchase
Ron Paul sure attracts a talented bunch. Best and brightest come round to Ron's message quite easily. Might the Paulfest overshadow and foreshadow the Republican National Convention? I love it

awesome
now lets get a big name band U2 or the like...they always promote peace and such, lets see if they stand up for the only Peace Candidate Ron Paul!! Lets Recruit some big names to our Liberty Festival!
U2 is bought and paid
for by the Vatican and the elites, I don't know if they realize what they are doing but if they don't, then they are just plain out of it.

When we oust the Commissar and all his henchmen (including RMoney) and get The Good Doctor elected, jobs will virtually/figuratively fall from the sky.
