Video Update: Newt Gingrich on the Hannity radio show recognized the Ron Paul movement ...

http://youtu.be/jjmbl_XnQiQ

... Hannity was asking Newt what Romney's first big challenge would be in the campaign from here on out. Newt said Romney has to deal with Ron Paul at the convention (At that point I was jumping up and down - LOL), and Hannity was eerily ... i'll repeat eerily silent when Newt said that .... Hannity didn't say a word after that .... It was rather awkward. I think Hannity was caught off guard by Newt saying that. Then he changed the topic to something else about the campaign.

Hannity's scared to death of the Ron Paul movement, because he knows if .... no, rather WHEN that movement takes over, it's the end of his show - LOL!

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention is not only did Newt talk about the Ron Paul forces at the convention, he also mentioned that Ron Paul won Minnesota over the weekend along with several other states (I was blown away that Hannity didn't dump that audio!). Hannity was floored, I think he was in utter shock wondering how that info got out on his airwaves.

But the thing is

When you think about what he has to gain at this point, its difficult to see what his motive could be. To me he just seems like an old man who is really pissed about how his life turned out lol

Gingrich has already publicly told Romney

he can't win without us; see here: May 9, 2012, Wall Street Journal:

Gingrich to Romney: Court Ron Paul Supporters
By Danny Yadron | WSJ

If you look at the 2012 election through a historical lens, as Newt Gingrich is wont to do, Mitt Romney would be wise to court supporters of Rep. Ron Paul, the former House speaker argues in his latest article (see here: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=51368) for the conservative publication Human Events.

Mr. Gingrich notes that recent elections in France and the rest of Europe prove how economic doldrums can wound incumbents of all parties. (The Wall Street Journal’s Gerald F. Seib addressed this issue in his latest column as well.)

Here's the deal

Paul supporters may or may not be in position to help Ron win the nomination, this must be admitted by anyone who is paying attention... BUT the real threat to Romney and his potential nomination should cause him flop sweats in comparison. Ron has nothing to lose at this point. It's all or nothing. Now, if Romney does look like he has the nom almost tied up, but can't get it over the goal line because of us and Paul delegates, it will be time to get hard, concrete promises IN WRITING from Mitt that are legally actionable if not carried out. Despite Benton's giant-sized screwup, I still feel there is great momentum building behind Ron.

Nothing is "Legally Actionable" in politics

Your statement astounded me. Don't you people know your own law? Have you ever heard of any politician being sued for breaking a campaign promise? Come on! Wake up! People have tried that and the Courts shut them down instantly. There is NO recourse in the courts for lying politicians! Learn to judge them by their DEEDS, and never their words, especially at election time.

Damn

I really want to hear this. There is not any way in heck I am going to pay hannity to listen. I sure hope that someone captured this cast and posts it. It is funny to hear people actually trying to pander to Ron Paul supporters. It is not to be trusted but funny to hear nonetheless.

Ya, I don't walk around in horse poop.

I don't walk around in horse poop. Youtube, or Ill never see it.

sean

didn't get into the ron paul fight. He just kept asking about romney.

You can bet that Clear Channel has threatened all these

guys if they respond in any way to any mention of Dr. Paul!

hthomas

Yes, And it's Important to Note That..

Mittens purchased ClearChannel in 2008 in anticipation of this year.
Hammity,Rush,Levin(e)....even Savage (Premiere Networks) are all beholden to their "craven image" their "golden calf".

MITTENS OWNS THEM.

Newt has flipped already. Now on CNN Piers Morgan

fillibustering about private equity. This campaign will be fun to monitor. Both sides will step in it whichever way they step. Both sides have dug themselves a deep hole.

i went to tunein.com

and i typed in sean hannity and i'm hearing newt gingrich but i tuned in 5 minutes already into the conversation.

i would like to hear the audio

anybody know where to hear it?

It looks like the audio from

It looks like the audio from the segment is on the website - http://www.hannity.com/show/2012/05/21

You need to have access credentials to listen to the audio and I don't...

As much as I would love to

As much as I would love to hear the silence of this moment, I cannot subject my-self to becoming a "Hannity Insider". What a term! I could go places with that, though I won't for decencies sake.

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." Benjamin Franklin

Newt

spoke at the Georgia convention Saturday morning. As soon as he said I'm wearing a Romney sticker, the boo's (including mine) were overwhelming. When it quieted down, he finished the sentence saying "I wish it was a Newt sticker". Towards the end of his speech he did say he agreed with Paul that we had to look at our overseas bases and close some as well as tackling the federal reserve and sound money. Like someone else said - the boy's crafty cause he saw that 1/3rd of a convention hall in Georgia was firmly on Paul's side.

Career Politician

This movement needs to remember that there are a lot of career politicians out there and that's not going to go away. Newt is one of them. They change their views depending on which way the wind blows. If this movement continues the way it has, five years down the road there will be slimy politicians doing and saying things in the name of Paul for their own selfish goals. There is no finish line in this race. Victory is removing the corruption and forever keeping these people in check. Liberty depends on it.

I totally

I totally agree.

Goldwater:Reagan::Paul:_________

Newt's a politician.

Hate/love/friend/enemy

it's always shifting.

I think Newt was* a politician

But now he is at that stage of his life where he realizes no one would really care if he croaked, and he seems like he just wants to go around saying whatever the hell he wants. I feel like once these guys get old, they finally start realizing how miserable their lives have been and how badly they got ripped off years ago when they sold their souls.

Newt Endorsed Romney

Newt is a snake. He once pushed really hard to get Ron Paul out of congress too. We have to have very long memories.

Maybe because

of the campaign debt he has/had. If I understand correctly, deals can be made where campaign debt can be paid off in exchange for stepping down, and endorsing the party selected candidate; helping get the selected one elected, etc. I notice Rick Santorum also gave a brief endorsement. Both endorsements did not seem convincing, and both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum had million dollar plus campaign debt. Only Ron Paul has run a truly conservative, grassroots campaign, where he has NOT gone into debt.

Dr. Paul is not for sale, and can't be bought!

Didn't he support the guy

Didn't he support the guy who switched and ran as a Democrat against RP? Haha maybe Grinch finally realized that RP is the real deal and he can't really be stopped, old man is trying to give Romney the heads up

He did...but reluctantly....NOOOOObody likes poor MITTENS...

....he can serve as chief pencil clerk in the RP administration: all day long he has to sharpen pencils....all day long........

SequoiaTrees4RonPaul

Yea, but he did have it out for Paul

He tried to get him out of congress. It was a debacle and an excellent story of how Ron Paul beat the establishment. Look it up...it is excellent and is why I think Ron Paul had it out for him a bit more then the others...

Grinch, Edwin Meese and Dr. Paul, circa 1995

An excellent account of the debacle mentioned by PDC3378:

http://www.ninomiya.org/libertarian/ronpaul_vs_laughlin.html

Former Attorney General Ed Meese was brought to Texas along with Gingrich to attempt to deny Dr. Paul in 1995.

A good quote from the article, "Bringing Meese in was a bit much," opines Houston Chronicle political reporter Clay Robison. "It made it look as if the establishment was really desperate to push Laughlin over. People began to resent all these outsiders coming in, telling them how to vote."

For me, seeing the lame question from Ed Meese in one of the 2011 GOP debates brought back all sorts of memories of that especially vile attempt to unseat Dr. Paul. I wonder what Dr. Paul was feeling at the moment?

Don't ever forget that Dr. Paul has weathered a storm or two involving some of the very same slimy usual suspects.

But he has to support Romney because ...

... he's looking for Goldman Sachs to pay off his campaign debt - LOL!

Yeah

I figure getting the campaign debt paid is behind it.

He must have already collected.
