Have you read Ben Swann's bio?

Our beloved reporter/news hero has an incredible background that I didn't realize.

High school graduate at age 11 (Homeschool)
College degree (Liberal Arts) from BYU at age 15
Master's (History) from California State at age 16.
Originally wanted to become a minister and has already been an assistant pastor and youth minister at a Presbyterian Church in Portland

As if I couldn't have more respect for this man.

It's certainly important for every 11 y.o. in our day and age to understand the matrix.

thanks for the links

I like the "Top 10 Tips For Accelerated Education".

Mr. Rogers was a Presbyterian minister too..

I love Mr. Rodgers.

I love Mr. Rodgers.

"For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God."

Say hello to the future of Education

Education today strips kids of creativity and critical thinking. Who thought of the idea of education would be to follow one idea, one answer and one history sponsored by few elitists. This is why majority of the public are like Zombies to the corruption and manipulation that goes on around them.

They are taught to never question and to just shut up and memorize everything the Ignorant teachers tells them. I have nothing against the teachers, they are as manipulated as the rest and are doing what they were taught through the same corrupt system.

So it does not surprise me that Ben has such amazing accomplishments. He was never indoctrinated through the failed education system. I believe this is the future of education. The current system will cave in on itself and parents should take note if they really care about the future of their Kids.

Ben Swann

has big brass balls.

Does he have any political aspirations?

We need the pipeline of candidates filled.

Currently consuming: Harry Browne, Free Domain Radio; JT Gatto and Holt; Wii U

He is invaluable

in his current position. We need him to be an example to others in the media field as to how it should be done. Hopefully, he will go national and gain even more influence. He would be drowned out if he were just one of hundreds in D.C.

Thank You Ben

Wow, that was exactly what I need to see this morning. Because, I’m am a high school student who is homeschooled/self taught(more self taught). Although, I haven't been quite as successful as Ben Swann , I know the to large extent of how homeschooling works, and how it can be extremely beneficial towards your kids development.

With increasing amounts knowledge I ( including Ben) have accumulated, it has come imperative that, since I have been given much, much more will require of me. And that my knowledge is power, and with that comes great responsibility.

For the last two years, I have been told that I should go into politics and influence the broader arena intellectual thought and so on. I'm currently enrolled multiple couple college classes , compete in tennis, speech, and debate.

Well, Why am I telling you this. Because I'm not this huge gigantic intellectual monster that most people think I am. It is because I have a responsibility to my family, friends and country to be all that I can be. Your time is now to fight, my generation has monstrosity to concur and we will, with much pain. But we all must have tenacious determination towards get Ron Paul elected and that means doing hard things like educating yourself.( the msm is not going to)
I have given much sacrifice , working many hours as my friends played and had fun etc etc .... Please everyone do your part so, my work will not have been in vain

Wow! Ben is like a modern day Doogie Howser!

I went to college while still in high school, but Ben makes me look like a slacker! LOL!

Ben's Mom Deserves the Credit

The man is one of nine children and all of the kids have similar stories. I read his sister explain how its done: They use the Calvert School curriculum, then do American School (a nonprofit correspondence high school). They work every day, year round on their lessons and when they're done, they move on to the next level.

Makes me feel like a slacker for sure.

My sister and I completed

My sister and I completed high school through American School as well. It was awesome to read English literature while taking a stroll through the beautiful wooded area my parents had on the property.:)

Math was so incredibly tough for me, though, we hired a mathematics teacher and even she had a tough time figuring out the problems in the workbook.

How long did it take you to go through it?

I'm curious about American School and how long it takes to actually go through it. Right now, I have a seventh grader who is a precocious reader and is halfway through Algebra 1.

I'm weighing my options as to what is the most economical, yet most beneficial way to go.

I could plan out and do her high school classes myself, but with four little ones, it's really a big undertaking I don't want to screw up. An objective third party would be great. However, I want to make sure that there is something for her when she gets done. I can't pay for college tuition and I'm not going to advise her to go into debt for it.

Words can not describe the respect I have for Ben!

If I find out he's also a Rothbardian, you will have to prove to me hes only a human being.

Ron Paul supporters seek balanced news, find anchorman Ben Swann

Oh and by the way, Ben Swann, one of the most fairest and intelligent journalists around, was also home-schooled.

* high school diploma at 11
* bachelors from Brigham Young Univ at 15
* masters from Cal.State Univ at 16
* TWO Emmys AND the Edward R.Murrow Award, all before age 33!
* married to a beautiful wife (because lacked social skills, of course) with 5 kids

Um, I'd say that is one 'socially awkward' genius! .o)

Swann has won both an Edward R. Murrow Award and two Emmy Awards.[2] He has specialized in covering the 2012 GOP presidential primaries, the Ron Paul newsletter controversy, and Mexico's drug wars on the Texas border.

Swann is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Masters in Humanities from California State University.[3] Swann was homeschooled with his nine siblings. He went through an accelerated education program that allowed him to obtain his high school diploma by age 11, college degree from BYU by 15, and a master's degrees from California State University by age 16. He is an El Paso native.

Before moving to Cincinnati and working on Reality Check, Swann spent the first 11 years of his broadcasting career in El Paso, Texas, at KTSM-TV, the NBC affiliate in El Paso, Texas, where he anchored the evening news. Prior to KTSM, Ben worked at KFOX in El Paso as an anchor, reporter, managing editor and photographer.[3]

Predictions in due Time...

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

Now is the time to say this about Mr. Swann...

You Rock Ben!!!

Seriously, it occurred to me about a week/10 days ago, probably around the time of the 'pizza chip-in' (I love pizza) during the convention in Oklahoma, maybe before...

Anyhoo, the idea is:

Not to hand him a bunch of money, of course. I'm talking about setting aside a special escrow account, target $2000-2500???, for Mr. Swann, redeemable the day he were to leave his position at his current employer.

Maybe this idea is inspired by the 'head-hunter' approach in the corporate world, but the point is to:

1. Let Ben know that people like what he is doing and are willing to pay to see more.
2. Inform his employer (which is a private company not FOX/Newscorp btw) that his talent is wanted elsewhere.
3. Provide a small, mostly symbolic perhaps, 'cash-cushion' to ease Mr. Swann into his next role, after any future non-renewal of his current contract, into his next job with one of the new-media's internet news sources, or his own media company if that is what Ben is planning (and you know he's always planning...)

Hope you all get the idea - related posts are any that talk about the future of America and how we, the People, under President Paul, start fixing this country, including getting liberty-minded voices in the media such as Ben Swann.

Ben Swann is the next Press Secretary at the WH

The guys at Fox 19 need to start looking for his replacement after November 2012!

I have made that same suggestion several times over the past month.

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." Benjamin Franklin

I will second that!

I was just about to post that, Press Secretary in the Ron Paul administration

Not all of us

who were made to go to public detention centers err public schools have come out brainwashed. Sure most do, but a few of us never bought into the whole charade, and have been resentful of incompetent teachers and administrators who've made much of our youth hell. There were a few good teachers, so they're not all bad. But most are clueless for sure. I've read the great Greek and Roman classics on my own, and have in the past 10 years educated myself on proper, Austrian economics. So not all of us who make it out of the bureaucratic sycophantic maze that is public education come out brainwashed. Some of us never stopped thinking for ourselves. Of course, I would home school or private school my kids. But don't stereotype everyone who has a public education, because some of us are just autodidacts.

America Lives

I'm only 34 but I feel like an old man refreshing himself by a stream every time I read a story like yours.

When people like you share your energy it isn't lost or dissipated, it is multiplied and magnified. Thank you for being a voice in this world.
