From this thread:
Remember the secret plan? You’re about to see it
The money was purposefully saved, prepare to get sick of Ron on national TV.
and,
I just gave you all I knew.
They were undershooting so they could get 3rd in the first two states…they weren’t far off in either. They didn’t WANT first, as it’s politically bad with super tuesday so far off (call it the buchannon effect).
Then comes the media blitz, you WILL see the money, and they WILL be targeting proper demographics now that they have the info, this is how he has won all of his elections. No other republican can effectively use the demographic information (fix the economy, end the war).
I don’t know anything beyond that other than they are hoping for others to drop out so he gets more air time during debates.
Others shared these thoughts:
“The media has been saying all along he is not viable, so we didn’t really lose much, yet.”
“It was hardly a very far fifth place finish it was damn close.”
“I have heard this too from the campaign! I had a good cry last night, but I am over it and ready to keep fighting the fight!
This aint over till the fat lady sings!”
“This would be good, especially since all the candidates have blown all their money on the first couple of states, and then Ron Paul comes in and blasts all the states on Super Tuesday with ads to take the lead right out from under everybody….BRILLIANT!”
“Facts we do know here
Based upon expenditure reports from air time being bought in NH and IA
1. RP appears to have about $20 million still stashed
2. RP is asking for another $23 million
3. RP Campaign has played it low key at first - look at the first few ads
4. RP Campaign came out with 4 great ads recently
5. RP campaign is starting tv and radio ads in 10 states this week based upon press releases
6. RP campaign definitely didn’t do an early state strategy in spite of funds raised and looking back if you think how much time and resources spent there by all campaigns RP was never going to stand out from the pack in IA and NH.”
“Gotta really think about it. It would be a good idea. This giga Tuesday thing is new. We cannot look at Iowa and NH as significant at all. It may be that Ron’s campaign has thought outside the box on this. If you think about it…here in California, I talk about the primaries with people and the majority cannot even name a candidate. This especially applies to the republican candidates.”
“The more that I think about this….and from the snippets I heard while in IA the more it becomes obvious that they have taken this course.
For three reasons:
1. Its impossible to stand out from the crowd in IA and NH
2. The field is way too crowded right now… let it settle out some first and let everyone beat up on each other and get bloodied up
3.. Most of their money in all honesty came in in the last month… too late to be spent on IA and NH but perfect for laying out a post IA, NH media blitz that will be unrivaled as other campaigns starve for cash”
“Is Ron Paul not the “thinking man’s candidate?” Once you consider this, “aiming for 3rd” strategy, it really does make sense, whether the poster was privvy to inside info or not. If Ron is sitting on a pile of cash now, why the hell would he continue to hold onto it? I’ll assume he plans on spending it!
Without having to spend a dime, Ron Paul, in a clever way, could be said to have used these two events in IA and NH to fish out all manner of valuable demographic information. Now that he’s got this info on so many important particulars, he can put his war chest to better use than ever before, instead of having to dump piles of cash into various efforts and cross his fingers. If you’ve got less money, overall, than people like Romney, Giuliani, Clinton, Obama, you’d better do your research first so you can get the most for your money when it comes time to spend. Does this not make perfect sense?
This is an intelligent man and regardless of what happens, this is not over until 2009.
Eyes on the prize”
“Ahh I love speculation… though so much of it makes sense… because if you think about it… the campaign really didn’t try hard at all for either of IA or NH, RP and Kent Snyder have had 20 years to plan this… RP has beaten the establishment before big time so everyone cheer up, don’t lose heart and donate some more money!”
“I’ve been mulling this all over tonight, and in reading this, the thought occured to me - does Ron Paul now hang his head and hang it up? and I honestly think the man would laugh at such an idea. He’s been a lone voice for decades - these results are nothing but encouragement for him.
The votes have not proven he’s a front runner, but they do NOTHING to prove his ideas wrong. Nothing whatsoever. He knows he’s right, we know he’s right. He’s got the Constitution, the founders, history and economics on his side, and he’s going to keep fighting the good fight as long as we stand with him.
Let’s stand with our man and march with him all the way, to the end.”
“Remember the field was too crowded at first.
Now Romney is hurting bad, Rudy is tanking, Thompson is sleeping, Huckabee is bogus, and McCain is still insane.”
“You all are missing the big picture.
We are a few % points away from #3. You want everyone else to kill everyone else. Then you step in to fill the void.
It is political strategy. If you think Dr. Paul is smart enough to understand the fed, the war, and so on: Why not understand that he knows what he is doing. He is playing the fiddle just like Huckabee….
Wait and watch”
“This thread is making me think. Even moreso, maybe Paul is crazy… just crazy like a fox.
1) You’re sitting on the largest Republican war chest
2) All your opponent’s fundraising is on life support, or they blew all their money in the first two or three primaries.
3) Each of the other candidates has a huge huge negative that will show up and turn off republican voters
If they can pull the following off, it would be the greatest election coup in history:
Parity of wins gives each candidate a few days in the sun, or a few days of good grilling by the conservative media for their undesirable chances. Huck’s vast tax and spending, McCain’s amnesty fiasco and McCain-Feingold, all of Rudy’s baggage from NYC, and Thompson’s lack of enthusiasm and personality all weigh on the mind of the Republican voters. Look at the first two primary winners for Iowa and NH:
Do you think people from the more liberal states are going to look at Huckabee and actually say, “I’ll vote for him”? No, they’re gonna see that record of his and remind themselves that they would never do that. He won Iowa, now he placed 3rd in NH.
Do you think people from the South and West are going to look at McCain and not remember the amnesty BS? They’re not going to vote for him. He placed 3rd in Iowa. In NH he pulled off a win. Is he going to win in Michigan or SC? No way.
As for second place, do you think people are going to look at Romney after he blew all his chances on two states, and consider him an electable candidate? When he polls at 12% nationally? And all of those flip flops from his days as governor?
He notices that Hillary is being built up as the comeback girl, which causes splinters in Obama’s support among independents. They end up looking for a new option, and it ain’t Edwards.
Meanwhile, Paul sits back; he lets the media in Iowa and NH do his polling work for him - with real election results, not opinion polls. He lets his opponents spend themselves into debt. He allows each one of them a few days in the spotlight to allow Republican voters to remember why they suck. He figures out what voting blocs are voting on what issue, and how independent voters are swinging. Using this he super-targets on the winning issues with his 20 million dollar war chest in the 2 weeks prior to super Tuesday (to get the most bang for the buck) while the grassroots continues, and the blimp flies on in SC and Florida.
It couldn’t be possible… could it?”

Bad TV Ads
If the new TV ads are as bad as the ones in New Hampshire ("He's catching on, I'm telling ya!") then we are truly F#$@&%!
hey, that was part of the secret plan
make horrible TV and radio ads to make sure RP didn't finish too high in the voting. Saving it all up for that sneak attack later where the ads will be awesome....
That staff needs to be replaced with someone who can run a national campaign.
xxxx
xxxx
That means we keep donating.!!!!!
Lets give this campaign ( our campaign the $$$ it needs) and have faith in Ron Paul and our message!
THANKS FOR THE GREAT POST
BUMP!
BUMP!
I hope you're right.
I hope you're right.
Also...
tell RP not to do any funky yells. You know how America feels about those..
Dr. No is in it for the long haul...
Remember how his campaign managers visited Alaska and Hawaii to send out a pychological signal that this was going to be a national campaign?
I've been hearing commercials on his bio here on Los Angeles radio station KABC and Nevadans for Ron Paul are playing great ones on Coast to Coast with George Noory. Woohoo!
All this is for naught if Campaign does not stop Vote Fraud...
Good point and I agree with them all BUT the campaign needs t spend $65,000 NOW and get a recount...
We have proof of vote fraud, We will get press out of this... We can pass Guiliani into fourth place which will be TWO Fourth Place showings and much better beating Guiliani twice...
NH is not going to rescue Guiliani if we can help it - the campaign must act swifty and call a press conference and pay for a recount.
We cannot let this happen AGAIN!!
thank you
Please all try to keep this topic running round the clock. Glad to see it is still here.
Now that you mention this it
Now that you mention this it makes perfect sense. I remember when Pat Buchanan won the NH Primary in 1996. The establishment crucified him the following day and he didn't win another state. If this is in fact Paul's strategy he is the most brilliant man in politics. Look at it this way, less than four percent of the electoral votes have been made. This thing is far from over.
If this is the case,
WE must bomb the campaign with money! Let Freedom Ring my friends!
Brian Bailey...
you're the BOMB!! Thank you for this post! I was PISSED ALL DAY! I saw this thread this AM and I figured it was another "You Suck ! Because your pissed" thread so I moved on. I came home and saw that this thread had so many comments so I said, "What the hell...I'll see what's going on." and I'm glad I did. I feel encouraged now. Makes sense I don't know why I didn't see the forest for the trees. I guess I got so caught up with anticipation of the first primaries that I was BEYOND let down. I was kind of in shock. It was surreal Then I was ready to kick someone's ass. PMS x 1000. Sooo...my family thanks you!
Now All of us can't F@#$ it up! We got to lay low as far as over-zealous behavior. As much as I would of liked to smack that prick with a snowball . WE got to chill!
YES!
Time for the blitz!!
Or The Statue of Liberty..
It worked for BSU when they beat Oklahoma State. heh

All sounds great but
He still has to get back the attention of those who believe their candidate is wright and expost them for what they are. He needs to get on that fast.
He didnt knwo he would have 20 million but I would like to believe this. If the pool gets smaller than he can capture attention but not with the current ads. He needs to really make strong points on energy and immigration while showing he would be the strongest if there were another terrorist attack. He needs to show the others depend on this war to fund and garnish their estates.
Their true weeknesses and goals need to be exposed!!!
im back and stopped pouting
im back and stopped pouting it took a whole hour
BUMP
Fricking awesome post
RonPaul2008.com now says
RonPaul2008.com now says "We're recruiting 180,000 precint captains!" I think their strategy will start to show come tomorrow in the debate. I think they took today off to discuss the final details. I hope, we hear something official soon.
It's funny how you mention chess
I was just talking about this being a game of chess with my friend today. We had the thought; could Kucinich be a part of the grand plan? If he and Ron went up -each on one side of the fence- on purpose, to see who the people latched onto, then the lesser of the two (in terms of followers) dropped and endorsed the other.....
Could that be? What do you think?
Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Healthcare in MA
As a Massachusetts resident, I must say that the plan concocted by Romney is the most nefarious health care plan around: the ones to benefit are 1) private health insurance companies that lobbied hard for mandatory policy-buying and 2) Romney, since he can get points with democrats about caring about the people.
This is how it actually plays out, though: We all _have_ to buy health insurance from private companies. If we don't, the first year we get smacked with extra taxes. The second year, our tax bill stays elevated _and_ we have to pay higher fines. I believe they can chuck us in jail (or take away our kids--for negligence) on year three. The tax bullies send out vague threat letters, and you have to sign forms saying that you have no insurance.
Personally, we use alternative practitioners for some of our medical needs; these things aren't covered by any of the plans. The cost of the plans offered at work are three times higher than our actual annual medical expenses. And a pre-tax flex-spending account does _not_ count as having medical coverage. This is pure coersion--talk about anti-liberty!
The insurance companies _know_ that we are compelled to buy insurance--they have raised their prices because they can. Independent business owners are being creamed by the outrageous rates.
We can go after Romney in the primaries with the true facts of his "health bill".
PS Testing out commercials to feel out the markets is a great idea! Hopefully the campaign has learned a lot about how to phrase the key issues to make them come through to the average Joe sitting mesmerized in front of the boob tube.
Romney's Health Plan is Fascist
And I'm not using that word here in a derogatory sense.
Free Market Economics = Private Ownership w/ Private Control
Socialist Economics = Government Ownership w/ Government Control
Fascist Economics = Private Ownership w/ Government Control
In Massachusetts, you HAVE to take out health insurance whether you want it or not, or whether you need it or not, but you have a choice of which provider to buy it from as long as your policy conforms to the state's requirements (e.g., 90-year-old women have to have coverage for infertility treatment).
This really isn't all that different from GWB's "personal" Social Security account proposals from a few years back.
Ron is looking better all the time.
Paleoconservative
Trust me
This is Paul's plan, if it comes down the Paul v. Romney, Paul is going to win.
This is very informative
Regarding Mitt's health care plan. I wonder how he is going to fare when the people of MA vote. Any thoughts?
This makes you wonder how each of our candidates rate in their own city's/district/states. Anyone have those numbers, including RP?
Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
I love the last line:
George W. Bush says to Ron Paul on his victory:
"Bush just leaned back, had his feet up on the desk, and said,
'Well, you ran one hell of a race!' "
That asswipe Bush, even after Paul won the nomination he gave Paul a short sentence for an endorsement after spending MILLIONS on his opponent.
Hope!!
sounds hopeful and isn't "Hope" the theme of the campaign? let's all regenerize here!!
I'm trying to take this seriously....
but the campaign wanted to "undershoot" so they'd be in a better position to gain momentum? Well, they certainly succeeded. I thought I'd heard it all following politics through the years. Let's see, let's try to finish last.
Good strategy.
Not about momentum necessarily
About the right timing.
Paul's been planning this for 20 years.
Look where McCain is? He's ALREADY yesterday's news, even with the media pouring on the attention, a lot of it is negative attention. His amnesty bill is going to cost him the election. The same goes for most the other guys.
Thompson and Giuliani are lying low, they may be a threat later on.
Super Tuesday changes a lot of things.
It's less about 'undershoot'ing and more about how you look on your results.
Romney came in 2nd in Iowa and NH, and now they are talking of his possibility of him dropping out! Why? Media expectation. Overhype.
I was curious why Goldwater Jr. predicted Paul to come in 3rd in NH AND mentioned that his father lost to a write-in in NH when he ran...planting the seeds of victory.
