Rand Paul practically endorses Mitt Romney... sigh

starts around minute 3....

why why why why???????

i mean on one hand this guy introduces actual amendments to reduce the size of government. that i truly respect but then he goes on that someone like Mitt Romney would be ideal to "turn the economy around" and "create jobs"

and to all the ones that will simply downvote this.... get a brain, you are no better than the mindless democrats or republicans if you will blindly follow this guy just because his last name is paul. i truly believe he is on our side (just look at all the bills he has introduced) but there is no reason to glorify him.

oh and if you guys remember.... finally got my site up and running..

From what I've seen, Rand has succumb to the standard political method, which is to pander to everyone instead of standing on unwavering principles.

Ron Paul is a rare gift.

If he is going to pander, it

If he is going to pander, it is simply not smart to pander to old farts who like Santorum or the neocons. They are the past not the future. If he is going to pander, why not pander to the young generation e.g. the folks who gave us the Paul Revolution? That would seem to smart politics.

I don't know what to think about Rand

First he does some awesome things like introducing legislation to end the TSA and limiting the FDA's power (as the poster below pointed out), and then he goes and says stuff like this...

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Not an endorsement

He did not endorse Mitt Romney. He is stating if you want to improve the economy(business) in America, Mitt Romney would be good only because he was in business.

Don't forget, the Paul's and Romney's are friends irregardless of political differences(which we as Paul supporters definitely have). In the context Rand put his statements of having a businessman get business going again I agree with him.

But I disagree that this is an endorsement of Romney. Everyone knows Ron is building a base for his son when 2016 or 2020 comes around. Rand would never damage that.

For Liberty!

Apologizing for endorsing the status quo...

...doesnt seem to lend anything to anyone. It was just "gross" to hear and see this clip....the truth remains Rand is closer to establishment than he is to Liberty. At least for me.

And THIS...

is why I'll never vote for Rand.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Troll alert!

They're out in full force today - trying to cause dissension.

Troll? You mean like Rand

Troll? You mean like Rand Paul and his recent pro-Romney (and Ron absent) comments??? If he'd said that on his site, people (you too probably) would be lining him to denounce him.

Like you.

Twisting facts to cause dissension.

Which "facts" have I twisted?

Which "facts" have I twisted? Name a single one.

I have no interest in causing dissension but, IMHO, it would be dangerous to give Rand a free pass for not backing his father with the same enthusiasm we do and/or for his pro-Romney comments. If you want to be a see no evil, hear no evil "true believer" in the "party line" however, that is your privilege.....but you are bound to be disappointed when your faith proves misplaced.

no free pass

thank you,, Rand deserves no free pass,, no one does,, hold them to the fire. This guy that keeps calling us all trolls is really rude,, your comment was perfect, thank you

Ron Paul 2012!!!

I appreciate that. I really

I appreciate that. I really hoped that Rand would get elected Senator but now I am beginning to wonder if he doing more harm than good for the future of our liberty movement. Without Ron, who do we have?

Can't say it enough

F**K Rand (doesn't even deserve the last name "Paul" next to his name),

Rand the GOP can go to hell and if you think that Romney is precisely what we need I'd say your full of shit. You sound like a GOP stooge in this interview and your dad couldn't give a damn about "growing" this god awful party. RP2012 Screw The Party Politics

9/11 was an inside job .....time to get some answers..RP 2012

Not worried just yet.

Rand has to play this low key. He doesn't want to burn any bridges. If he has aspirations about being a VP or running in 2016, he can't come out and be as brash as his father. I love Ron like everyone does, but he's not exactly friendly with the Republican party, which made it nearly impossible for him to get the nod. I look at Rand's voting record and his amendments to see his libertarian nature. It's not what he says, it's what he does.

If Romney gets the nod and Rand becomes a 'Yes man' and rubber stamps Romney's agenda, then I will have a problem.

Ah....but Rand IS burning

Ah....but Rand IS burning bridges. He is burning his bridges to us, potentially his most fervent supporters.

Exactly srm19. For those who look at his sponsored bills and voting record he is spot on.

Remember congress is where bills start and presidents are needed to sign them. Calling Romney out on his horrible record will only hurt Rand in the Senate when he tries to push his bills through.

Don't forget people this is politics. So much of it is just not offending people you need to pass legislation.

Rand is still supporting liberty candidates and believes in his dads positions.

For Liberty!

Here's what else he did ...

(NaturalNews) In a stunning and completely unannounced move, US Senator Rand Paul -- who many agree represents the best hope for the restoration of liberty in America -- has introduced an amendment to a key FDA funding bill that seeks to sharply rein in the FDA's power. It would disarm the FDA and make the agency stop using guns against the American people; it would halt the FDA's armed raids on raw milk farmers; it would also stop the FDA's outrageous and longstanding censorship of truthful health claims of dietary supplements and medicinal herbs.

The Rand bashers really need to go! Until you are in his shoes, having to navigate the evil in the Senate and the GOP, your comments are destructive. If I was infiltrating the GOP, I would play the game just like him. And YES it is a GAME!

Yes, play the game and in one breath destroy your father's own campaign.

That needed to be said.

Thanks. Does the end justify the means? How many of us have to go undercover just to be delegates at our republican caucuses or GOP meetings. Until there is a majority, such as in, Iowa or Nevada, many of us won't play because they won't let us in to their cliche.

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

State after state, for 4+ years, the RP minded folk have been secretly infiltrating the GOP. They had to play the game to be accepted. I see it locally. I hate having to bite my tongue and control my eye rolls.

whos comments are destructive?

I think the most destructive comment made all year was from Rand, endorsing Romney, that was the worst move he could have ever made,, he is not flying under the radar, that comment is going to make everyone with a brain question what is really going on. I will never vote for Romney and if Rand votes for Romney then I will not vote for him when he runs for president either,, I think you should rethink which comment is the most destructive to our agenda,, Rands or concerned faithful supporters

Ron Paul 2012!!!

Yours, Troll.

Your spewing distorted information. He did not "endorse" Romney. Did you not understand the context of the questioning in the whole interview?

really, troll? come on,,

its not that hard to say that his dad is the best qualified for the job now is it. He said what he said, you can twist it however you want. I support Ron Paul, obviously his son has more information than we do. Stop calling me names when you dont know who I am. I am entitled to say my view and my opinion. I support Ron Paul and all you are going to do is chase people away,, in turn that would make you the troll, so get a grip and be polite,, please!!

Ron Paul 2012!!!

"Growing The Party"

So Rand Paul mentions Ron Paul only when he is questioned about him and then he answers that Ron Paul is "growing the party." No mention of Ron Paul challenging Romney at the convention or how romney is the candidate for the Establishment. Come to think of it, did Ron Paul even mention Romney when he spoke at the recent Minnesota Republican convention? Is the campaign really "in it to win it (the nomination)?

I used to think that he was more intelligent. I was wrong.

I completely disagree with his comment about the Ron Paul supporters. We are not being brought to the republican party. We are here to support Liberty. We are here to help Ron Paul to restore Liberty. We are not here to support, defend, and strengthen the da@#ed republican party.

Larry in North Carolina
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to not support Ron Paul!

I agree with you

you are so 100% correct,, thank you

Ron Paul 2012

Ron Paul 2012!!!

Restore America

Restoring America also meant restoring the GOP since it had been gutted. (ROMNEY just stole Ron's Restore America by adding "to greatness".

I was brought into the GOP under the influence of Ron Paul who asked us to become a Republican delegates and support him. Many of us were brought into the GOP to Restore America IN THE NAME OF LIBERTY.

I never thought I would join the GOP. But then I never thought the GOP was a shell. My RCC should have 20 people, it has 8, and 2 at a time show up, so we never have quorum. Ralph Nader's meetings were bigger and had more money than my GOP. My sewing group is bigger with more money.

We are not going to win from outside.. we only with with time and effort on the inside. Those of us on the inside are going to either bend like Rand or be without a party, and no power at all to make any change ever.

Violent Revolution is not our answer, it's the elites solution to too many have nots being a cancer to THEIR planet. UN Agenda was to sustain a human population of 500 Million. That's their goal, and ours is to stop it. They have the power.

All we've got is a chance. Blowing it is futile.

Rand can do whatever he wants. I don not have to follow him.

In the quote below, he essentially says " you dont need to compromise if you are doing the right thing you just need to get others to come your way" ...yes Rand, but it IS a compromise to support Mitt Romney. Period. Mitt has stated repeatedly that as president he "will not even address the federal reserve system" & that "the Fed should remain without an audit & stay independent from government oversight". I understand the political side of what Rand is doing, and the strategy (WHICH WE NEED NOT DISCUSS HERE PEOPLE), but he can get Romney to come our way simply by standing on principle, not budging, & letting Romney & the rest of the lost neocons come our way. By endorsing Romney, you send mixed signals to the grassroots (even those of us who understand what is happening here...those who do not understand must be patient). Romney is Obama. There is no difference in their policies. Politics is a complicated game. Do not expect everyone to be as forthcoming as Ron Paul, you will be sadly let down. Ron Paul is an anomaly of a statesman, and for those people ready or contemplating running for office, best thing you can do when running is try to be as forthcoming & honest as Ron Paul, and try to understand why others (on the same team as you) may not be. Rand is smart. I am not defending his actions in essentially endorsing Romney, just saying stay tuned & be patient....& remember, there are many eyes watching Rand, Ron & us here on the DP. Peace

Not an endorsement

Rand did not endorse Romney. He was attacking Biden's comment about Romney's experience at Bain not qualifying him to be President as much as a plumber

Preparation through education is less costly than learning through tragedy
