Baltimore Sun: The Antiwar Republican
WASHINGTON - No matter who shows up at this week's Republican presidential debate in Baltimore, it's a good bet the biggest applause will go to the most conservative man onstage.
He's Rep. Ron Paul, a perfect protest candidate for 2008. Trained as a physician, he's "Dr. Paul" to a small but growing base of fervent admirers - more than a few of whom could fairly be called zealots.
Around the Capitol, the Texas congressman is "Dr. No," for his frequent, and often lonely, insistence on opposing any legislation that, in his view, exceeds the authority explicitly given to Congress by the framers of the Constitution.

Baltimore hit piece
Hello fellow citizens,
Just finished writing a polite e-mail to the editor at the Baltimore Sun explaining that Dr. Paul is not an isolationist. We need a "war room" like Bill Clinton had to counterattack all these misleading stories. I'll do my part.

He's NOT an Isolationist
The only real issue I took with the article is that once again he is incorrectly described as an Isolationist. He is a Non-Interventionist, which is one half of the Isolationist coin, but he does not subscribe to Protectionism which is the other half.
Also didn't like the attempt to paint him as a racist with that selection of votes and/or positions. The author did at least give some of the reasons Ron Paul has for them, so the reader can make up their own mind.
The good with the bad
Of COURSE they had to bring up the issue that some would like to say makes Ron a racist. Those that know his voting record and "why" know that Ron doesn't show partiality to ANY group, which is more of a point of admiration vs. condemnation to us, but I know I'm preaching to the proverbial choir...lol.
Still, take the good with the bad in the fact here was yet another piece of MSM doing a story on Ron, the vast majority of which I think will intrigue readers to learn more.
I worked for a former investigative reporter years ago for ABC, CBS and NBC News who finally got so disgusted over the process that he took early retirement. His reason? He told me that when he went to college years ago and studied journalism, he was told his job was to "report" the news, but later in life somehow that changed to where he was told his job was now to "sell" the news. I always admired him for that early retirement :-)
That's right
.
I may know your reporter friend; I worked at NBC in New York for 15 years and I saw plenty. I didn't know about the CFR back then, though I had heard of it. Your friend is right; I saw stories skewed consistently; people censored, cut off, stories altered. Sometimes NBC got caught. (remember when they rigged a gas tank to explode. Small potatoes).
Thing is, all the networks are in cahoots and you won't get the truth from any of them, except maybe sports.
What's interesting about Ron Paul is that there is NO dirt. They are desperate to find some. Of course they can't so they find some ghost-written stuff and palm it off as Paul's. Sheesh. You watch, they'll have a news story that it was Ron Paul who tasered the kid at the Kerry speech. Film at 11.
I dont like this article, it
I dont like this article, it likens paul to liberals. Just because he is anti-war does not mean he is a liberal. Pisses me off, in every other aspect hes 9999999% more conservative than any of the alternatives.

I don't like it either, it's
I don't like it either, it's a well-disguised attack piece, but you need to see past the false paradigm of liberal vs. conservative and realise that it's just a box designed to keep people fighting amongst themselves instead of tackling actual issues head on.
