Agenda 21 calls for social, economic, and political global governance. It certainly is scary stuff, and we have to KEEP TALKING about it to anyone who will listen. And contacting our representatives in Congress, our governors, and our state legislators. But be heartened: people ARE beginning to wake up!

Note that Agenda 21 is the "top down" part (where Congress comes in). The "bottom up" part is ICLEI, working in tandem to achieve the same objectives at the state, county, and town level. If you're not aware of Georgia's Ed Wordes, "the chicken man," check it out; he was driven to suicide after YEARS of harassment by town. They wanted his property, in a "green zone" on their "Imagine Roswell 2030" ICLEI-inspired plan. Google "Roswell, Ga Ed Wordes" and click "images" to see before & after pics - what years of harassment (including jail time) did to this once robust 53-year old man by the time he couldn't take it anymore. I just about cried.

FYI, here is an excerpt of a statement read by a friend at a board meeting of her (ICLEI-member) town in New York:

"Agenda 21 is a global agenda with not only environmental but also economic and social goals. The means by which to accomplish the objectives is through increasing government ownership, control, and regulation of... land, property, housing, businesses, farms and food production, and more – on a federal, state, and local level. Further, Agenda 21 calls for global government for the purpose of enforcement of its policies.

There has been little transparency regarding the ultimate goals of these programs. Also, the terms are ambiguous. For instance, I thought I supported “sustainability.” But Agenda 21's idea of un-sustainable practices includes something as basic (at least for Americans) as “property rights."

Without full disclosure, I believe that well-meaning environmentalists have been taken advantage of. But I've begun to notice articles – now making national news – of communities voting against ICLEI membership; and towns terminating their membership upon more fully understanding the goals and dangers and taking a closer look at the fine print. In fact, there are legal issues regarding even the constitutionality of a local government committing itself to be governed by the charter of an international body.

I urge everyone here to check out three things: 1) at the UN's website, read the Agenda 21 report and its list of principles; 2) google "ICLEI: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY; and 3) google "Maryland Terminates ICLEI." Last February, Caroll County, Maryland was the first to disengage itself. By the end of the year, apparently 46 communities had followed suit; and now less are signing on..."

1) At the aforementioned board meeting, the board vehemently denied that ICLEI had anything to do with Agenda 21. Nice try.

UNCED = United Nations Conference on Environment and Development = Rio Declaration on Environment and Development = Rio Summit = Rio Conference = Rio = Earth Summit = Eco '92 = AGENDA 21. The terms are all used interchangeably.

Try googling (separately) your state ICLEI; your county ICLEI; and your town ICLEI - and see what comes up. Some of us have discovered our towns have been members for years already. We might have read about "sustainability" plans - and supported them! - but without realizing what it involved, even just for our towns, let alone the bigger picture - one world government.

P.S. This is all a VERY well thought-out, multi-pronged plan!!! Lobbies have been pounding the pavement at all levels of gov't for many years. While there is no question that Agenda 21 and ICLEI are connected (what two minutes of research divulges), I'm not sure that all the boards and environmental committees themselves know much about Agenda 21 - neither the scope, nor ultimate goals/consequences (in a nutshell: U.S. sovereignty). Some MAY. Others just legitimately want a healthier environment for their towns and to leave to their children, and - saving them work they'd otherwise have to do on their own - ICLEI just made it, oh, so easy for them - providing all the enviro info that comes with ICLEI membership (along with strings). A point that can be made with boards/committees is that many people against Agenda 21/ICLEI would, however, support some of the ideas - but ONLY if planned, implemented, and enforced locally.

I just left the tyranny of the states and everyday I am asked up here..When I am going back to the states? My answer: Never if Ron Paul isn't elected...And they just look at me like I'm crazy...These idiots Love Obama...But once a week I meet a Ron Paul fan and it gives me hope!
