There is nothing to stop a Delegate from voting for Ron Paul! NO PERSON HAS EVER BEEN DISQUALIFIED FOR NOT VOTING with the “UNIT” EVER!

Any Delegate Can Vote for Ron Paul on the First Ballot! Voting Rights Law and the Republican Party rules allow a Delegate to vote for whoever they choose on the first ballot. Please read the Law on Delegates which trumps any rules on Delegates:

The Repuplican Party’s rules also prohibit binding delegates to vote according to how a majority of delegates from their state vote.

State and local laws which elect delegates and their rules...

There are penalties that may result depending on the local and state bylaws in regards to being a delegate which could cause certain delegates to lose their delegate status. Know the facts before believing anyone on what they are 'reporting' because there is no better protection then knowing your own local & state rules/bylaws and making an informed decision. These laws are binding, and they might cause some who vote conscience in the first round to possibly lose their delegate status and in turn be replaced by an alternate delegate on the second round of voting (if necessary). If the Ron Paul delegates do not have a 2/3rd majority it will be difficult to get many favorable laws at the RNC level, but regardless each delegate is bound by their local and state laws in respect to being a delegate. Whatever is done, there needs to be a clear strategy, and just throwing out the rules that elected the delegates is just plain CRAZY, it will not happen without certain delegates being penalized.

Here in MA the MA GOP is trying to find a way to replace the delegates who were elected properly at the special meetings for that purpose in each of the Congressional Districts.

Ron Paul supporters who became delegates were listed on a form handed out that day at the meeting entitled Ronald Reagan Liberty Unity Slate. Their names, resumes and pictures were on the form! So there is no question who they were although there was no reference to Ron Paul on the form.

I was there and I voted for them. Now I am trying to help to keep them from being replaced. I am signing a special affidavit affirming that I voted for them and I have the opportunity to be present to witness the meeting of the special credentials committee next Tuesday evening.

There is a clause in the rules which says a delegate can be replaced for "just cause" but there is no explanation as to just what would constitute "just cause."

I am reminded how I looked forward to reading the Supreme Courts decision in the case of the seventeen men who challenged the Selective Service Act of 1917. The military draft was clearly "involuntary servitude" which could and did cause the loss of many lives. I wondered how the justices could find a way to justify such a law.

It was my first encounter with the concept of sophistry. The decision had been made in advance and it didn't matter what nonsensical reason was given. They said that the Constitution gives the Congress the power to raise an army and this was simply an exercise of that power.

Whatever nonsensical reason to replace those duly elected delegates who were elected by registered Republicans is given, I fear they will be replaced

The State trumps Federal, remember? Fortunately, most State Constitutions mirror the US Constitution almost completely.
Even so, I'd read the one for your State in regards to voting. But, I really can't imagine there is a reason the laws are not identical.

No, no...you can't give yourselves away at the state conventions. Nice idea, but no thanks. Doug Wead made it very clear a few days ago...keep your heads down, DO NOT stand out like a sore thumb! The GOP is doing their best to find out who we are so they can eliminate us. Don't give them a giant bullseye to see on your back!

EVERY RON PAUL DELEGATE SHOULD GO ON THE DOWN LOW right now. If you're a delegate, PLEASE for the love of God don't say you're a delegate on this forum!
