NewsOK: Oklahoma Republican Convention results should be disallowed

In response to Pat Grisham (Your Views, May 19): As someone who's been involved in the Republican Party for more than 20 years, working on every possible committee, I can tell you the Ron Paul people weren't the cause of problems at the Oklahoma Republican convention on May 12. I'm not a Paul supporter; I just believe in being fair.

Wish I could comment there

I want to publicly thank him for being fair and just. Of course, some people would've probably bashed him, too.

If they had any integrity

If they had any integrity they would put forth the parking lot delegation

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

Individuals with integrity standing up to wrongs the've seen is what is needed.

Is the GOP a fair organization or not? The campaign can't change minds, people have to decide that kind of thing themselves.

Free includes debt-free!

So they win???

If they don't seat the at large delegates does that mean we have lost any hope of gaining the delegates for the Doctor? Sorta sounds like they win no matter what if this is the case...

Paul is going to win... cheat... get delegates tossed out... they win...

I don't think anyone knows

the answer to that question right now. But, in my book, if the improperly elected executive committee slate fails to be seated at Tampa because of the rules challenge, then we will have won a big battle. Regardless of whether they do or don't uphold the parking lot slate.

I believe the at large delegates are the OK GOP ones,

based on the rest of the article.

So we are cheated anyway..

That is the same way I understand it... We lose any chance at fairly electing the at large OK for Ron Paul... So we are cheated no matter what....

on a tangent

I really find it irritating when I can't find a name or date or both, for the person who is making a statement.

It says "John Williams, Edmond" at the bottom. Do I take that to be John Williams of Edmond OKlahoma?

This is good that we have some

Sympathetic people to our cause. That they will call out the bad, and recognize the good. I agree with the sentiments of someone else here, be nice and maybe we can win some allies. Of course you have to find the balance of strength and weakness. When to appear strong and when to appear weak and non threatening.

Be Nice - It Pays Off

This is why I keep saying not to treat all the "old folks" and apparent "status quo" people in the party as if they are acting badly when in reality the bad actions are done by one or two.

Be nice, and those who have a sense of fair play will come to your defense. They probably have had run-ins with the same authoritarian power-grabbers, themselves, and would love to toss them out with our help.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

I was one

As a person who was personally influenced into the Ron Paul/Liberty movement, I can tell you that I was very standoffish until the kindness of a few supporters stirred my curiosity enough to look into the whole thing a little deeper.

It was too late for me then - I was already starting to think for myself. ;) But the point is that I wouldn't have even researched if everyone was a jerk to me.
