Sometimes "COMMENTS" on posts are better than the actual post, and they should be made into their own post!

Just saying that sometimes people put hours into making a good comment on a post and they are so good that they should be made an individual post to be made available to more people! I'm sure you've all seen them.

To write the unwritable wrong... That is my quest.

To write the uneditable foe.
To bear the unbearable critic.
To write where the brave do not go...
The possible quest.

[Victrola breaks out burst of joy! ♬ The Impossible Dream ♬ Man of La Mancha - Don Quixote, played by Peter O'Toole] 10 minutes.

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star

You can save the permalink for that comment

however, it does not save with the title name of that comment. You have to title it.

The problem with this is

The problem with this is sometimes the comment is really good - and the thread gets 404'd - and you lose the comment.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Tangential topic

I've had great fun debating others in the Commentary section at various 'non-Candidacy' sites like Huffington Post or the Blaze, while experiencing fair success since the 'opponents' firstly commit to an argument and then frequently expose logical flaws that liberty oriented philosophy often has a solvent answer to; back to the trenches!

Suggested function...

I'm glad you brought this up. It would be nice to reward good comments by featuring the top comment (or two?) just below each post and before the standard chronological comment list.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Tangents start that perhaps a moderator, commentator, or thread originator might choose to excerpt and move ( possibly leaving behind a shadow copy with a reference to the new link, and a link mention of origin in the new thread. Such housekeeping can keep things tidy, but also be a remedy for thread highjacking.
At times in the history of this forum, there have been problems with purposeful clutter used in order to confound dialog with obfuscation
designed to sidetrack or exasperate those who would like to stay focused on the topic. Occasionally, new trains of thought
emerge that merit their own track. This protocol would would allow for spontaneous, but orderly exchange.

I have a concern for maintenance and tracking of content independent of context. It happens that objectionable posts spark thoughtful response that merits preservation even if the instigation bites the dust. Trolls are often useful foils in prompting a valuable defense of liberty principles. What happens when a moderator gets fed up with a provocative title or flaming conflagration? Pooff. Or a troll draws fire and is burned by exposure to the heat. If they are the thread originator, they snuff the thread and all its content and start anew when things blow over. Respect for history and encouragement of worthwhile content would be served by an archive of postings by member regardless of thread fate.

Dear Omaleta,

Received your post this morn. Glad to hear you are writing better.

Your learning benefits you. It becomes you. Yours seems a good way to live a pleasant life.

As for me, I prefer the rough & ready. The hardscrabble. I relish the dusty yarns of travails made by those that survived . Alas, that is me. You ain't me... Nor is me otherwise.

As for learning to write better, tis good for you... To write how you feel is useful. To right the unwritable wrong is a quest. A possible quest. Best of wishes. Regards,

At one time the comments that show on the right of the screen

Showed the number of up votes, maybe that could be brought back?

That would be great~

I say bring that back!!

Posts becoming threads

Hey guys. Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm not sure how to make my post become a thread, other than copy/pasting it into a new thread. If anyone knows a better way, or can do it themself feel free to copy/paste reuse anything I post. Btw, Loose Moose it's good to see that Nevada and Iowa have so much in common right now *-).

Post: Gary Johnson and Ron Paul differences

I just re-read the whole thing, and I noticed I had some typos. Sorry guys, I will be more diligent in the future.

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but the

Every one of my comments is worthy of its own thread.

I can't help it.

I am that profound.

except for maybe this one.

Carry on.

Same here.

I have always found my comments to be worthy of far more attention than they receive. This is most likely due to my profound intellect, near perfect grammar and of course "SpellCheck".

I am currently working on a very well written and thoughtful post concerning my own deep sense of modesty and well exhibited humility.

Thank me.

I guess I was wrong.

Double digit up-votes for a comment.

Maybe even that comment was worthy of its own thread.

I try and try and try to be ordinary ...

But for the life of me ...

I just can't.

Sometimes I wonder how ordinary people get by in this life on earth.

God Bless.

I was the guy at MI Convention

Who held up the Ron Paul 2012 sign when Gov Pawlenty looked my way during his speech.

He ended up mentioning Ron Paul from the podium.

I looked for your Limbaughtomy T-shirt. LOL.

Hey, Thanks.

Yes!!

I always sensed awesomeness about you! Now I know why. I didn't do the Limbaughtomy thing...trying to be incognito. Props to you though for you well placed sign.

Well, I am not a national Delegate.

I was part of the Ron Paul precinct Delegation in 2008. The others in my precinct are County party regulars.

I don't think I ever mentioned Ron Paul, but I did talk about war and debt and rights lost. I suppose the 'Ron Paul 2008' bumper sticker on my binder gave me away.

There is another Convention coming up this summer for state nominees and other business.

Brian Hedrick is on the Republican ballot for the House. He might prove a sound replacement. We need a new Congress, this one is selling us down the river.

The Summer Convention will be one more chance to convince National delegates that we are here to help Paul win in November and we need their help to get started.

It's amazing how little it takes to get me thinking I need a bigger hat.

I'm glad you enjoyed my story. It was fun, and it didn't seem to annoy Pawlenty. He noticed and took it in stride.

You told the moose story

You told the moose story while we were waiting in line to get in, right? Leather coat, hat, from the UP?

From mid-Michigan. Tall thin man, pony tail w/ scruffy mustache.

No moose story, but an enthusiastic group from Muskegan stopped by to talk history.

Darn

I really wanted to hear a good Moose story!,Lol!

So, when I am standing

So, when I am standing outside the line to go into the district one room, I get to talking a little to this guy who turns out to be a reporter. He starts telling this story of how he was recording a special moment in MI history.
Some years ago the DNR decided to reintroduce moose back into the UP. Where would you find such a moose? Canada, of course. After all you could throw a rock into Canada from the UP. So, the DNR literally airlifts this bull moose in a box using a helicopter.
Naturally this is big news in MI. And naturally anytime there is big news, a politician has to be there. That said the governor of that time (Engler?) was present for this historic moment. Air lifting a moose doesn't happen everyday so you want lots of pictures. In those pictures you want the governor to be seen. So as they are getting ready to open the door and turn the moose loose, the governor is standing 90 degrees from the opening in near enough proximity to been seen in the photos of the moose exiting. The moose finally comes out, turns and heads straight for the governor. Panic ensues. State police and DNR have their guns drawn. They must protect the governor by shooting the recently imported moose. Thankfully the moose turns at the last moment and proceeds to gallop OVER A COP CAR, smashing all the glass, lights and what not. Then, at the edge of the woods the moose stops turns it's head to take a last look at his mayhem and trots off into the forest. That is the moose story as I was told it. The guy who told the story filmed the whole thing and they play a clip of it every year on some obscure outdoor show. I would love to see it.

Now who doesn't love a good moose story!

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

Lol,Thank you!

It is a good thing the Moose changed directions or the Governor might have been shot also!,Lol. A friend of mine from Alaska told me this one.

Anyone that knows Moose will testify they are pretty stupid. The bulls during rut will battle anything that moves including cars going 60 miles an hour or speeding trains.

There was a very big problem along a certain stretch of rail line so the Animal rights activists tried to shut the line down during the rut.

This did not work so they decided to rent a bunch of snowcats and bobsleds to scare the moose away from the rail line during this season.

First day out they all came walking back in on foot because the moose had destroyed every one of the vehicles they had rented and had to pay for as totaled. lol.

Valiant attempt, but mother nature has a way, Also you really should heed the warnings of the locals! Lol.

Thank you for the Moose story!
