I'm hoping my friends in the liberty community will join my allies Tatiana Moroz, Jordan Page, Jason Rink and Dr. Tom Woods!

Hi, folks, Glenn Horowitz here.

I should have joined this site ages ago, since I'm a big fan of voluntaryism, Austrian economics and of course Dr. Ron Paul and his message of liberty...and have been since I first encountered them in the 1990s.

I've been out of the loop after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006, busy with surviving the disability gauntlet and trying to salvage my life after becoming disabled by that disorder and losing the ability to do regular productive work of any sort, to say nothing of having my career as a civilian courier pilot destroyed.

In late 2010 I lost the last of my ability to walk or even stand upright, and became dependent upon a power wheelchair to get around. This made me a housebound prisoner, so last August I began a fundraising blog, 'Get Glenn Mobile!' to get my vehicle modified for wheelchair access.

While asking around the liberty community for advice on making my project successful, I was surprised when Becky Akers, firebrand liberty activist and TSA nemesis, strongly suggested I start writing for publication. This would help the cause of liberty, get my name better recognized, and ultimately speed the success of my goal, she told me...and was she right!

Since then I've been writing an opinion column for the American Daily Herald and found a whole new avocation, after I'd thought my useful days were past. I'm certainly no Hemingway, but I've been pleased to find my writing has been reasonably well received, and I've met a bunch of wonderful people while I've been at it. Through the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul I was fortunate enough to befriend Lady Liberty herself, Tatiana Moroz, and she's really taken my cause to heart.

While I've been certain my endeavor would succeed for some time, Tatiana has been making a massive effort to get me to my goal quickly, in time to get to Tampa, not only to be an activist for liberty, but to support my friends in CVRP when they participate in the Veterans for Ron Paul March on the RNC in August through my writing in my opinion column for ADH..

Here are her three videos just from this week featuring musical artist Jordan Page, documentary film maker Jason Rink, and the well known author and communicator of the liberty movement, Dr. Tom Woods, all speaking in support of my cause:

http://youtu.be/Bwc6gK2C4Sk

http://youtu.be/sO0UdIL6wto

The response today has been simply amazing! Dr. Woods even issued a challenge for anyone who'd donate $1000 to the cause...and it was met when a reader did indeed donate that $1000. I believe today marks the tipping point; we've gone from 19% of the needed funds to almost 28% just this morning, and if the momentum is kept up, the goal will be reached in short order.

I hope you good folks who are supporters of Dr. Paul will see fit to contribute. You'll be turning a very motivated liberty activist and writer loose to advocate for Dr. Paul and his message with the public to help them understand the huge benefits of adherence to the Constitution, sound money and a sane non interventionist foreign policy.

One thing more- I think a guy like me, confined to a wheelchair, will be a powerful visual image to aid in my own message that the current system of health care and disability is a sham and a death trap.

I can do this, and couch my explanation in the language of sensible Austrian economics, demonstrating just by being there the superiority of voluntary charitable action over violent coercive government programs that only serve to bolster the corporate State, transferring resources from the productive to politically favored recipients.

How about it...can I count on your support?

I'm around all the time if you have any questions or comments. Like you, I want to see our stolen liberty recovered, and I can be a lot more effective once my own is restored.

~Glenn

Wow man. I been thinking about disability lately

cause I got this screwed up illness and it's changing my life by degrees every single day. Wish I could help you financially but I've over-given to the movement and need to stop going through all my long term food storage supplies.

"The gaunlet of disability". All the state programs and such. Makes me shudder. I'm gonna stay free as long as I got a choice in the matter. But I guess I hear in your voice that you got the "new eyes". At a certain point we gotta think not in terms of what we can't do but what we still can. My vision was perfect but now it's not. Lately I'm thankful that I can see at all.

Your career as a courier pilot got destroyed. Ouch. bigtime ouch. But from where I sit, at least you WERE a courier pilot. And bro, you can still dream about it.

One thing that is bigtime in my dreams these days is the hills and trees and waters of my ancestors. I can see them in perfect detail, every rock, everything just the way it was. I can smell the rich dark loam and the fragrant air and I can hear the birds in the day and the cickets at night.

I super love the sound of spring peepers. I can sense the fish in the waters. It's ALL THERE MAN. My people believe in an afterlife, the Next Place. If it's like my dreams, man, it's gonna be better than good. It's gonna be PERFECT. I know why I don't see my ancestors in these recent dreams and that is because if I do, I won't come back. I won't want to. I will want to stay with them in the mountains.

You and I my man are in the twilight of our life and it's coming sooner and harder for us than it might have. I'd hazard a guess that a feeling we share is DISMAY. The spirit is willing but the wheels are falling off our apple cart. The mechanics are all screwed up. Everything is coming unglued.

Maybe you feel fear. I can relate. I have never really felt fear like most people do ever in my life until all this started. I'm trained not to admit fear into my reality, I'm trained to confront it head on and destroy it. Fear is an enemy of my people and whatever they are afraid of is slated for immediate modification. Then one day as things advanced I started having this horrible feeling, one I had never felt before and it took me weeks to identify it. It was this horrible abrasive and draining feeling. It was somehow very close to a feeling of guilt but I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. It truly felt yucky and dirty. I couldn't figure it out until a friend said Smudge, you are afraid.

Me? Afraid? Show me what I'm afraid of and I'll kill it right now with my bare hands but friend said Smudge, that's the point, you can't beat this one and you know it.

"You can't beat this one with your fists".

And so the Great Warrior Priest Smudge Pot is laid low. He has met his match. The only thing he can do now is try to go out gracefully.

I will say this, having felt fear and had it practically move into the spare bedroom, I feel an overwhelming sense of sympathy and understanding for other humans. I'm like this fear thing? It's HORRIBLE! OMFG YOU POOR LITTLE THINGS NO MATTER YOU ACT THE WAY YOU DO, YOU ARE SCARED OUT OF YOUR TINY LITTLE MINDS.

It's like aw crap, no wonder you act like you are half bats in the belfry, it's because you are half bats in the belfry. It's a wonder the human race even evolved under these circumstances.

who was it that said a paranoiac is just a man who's aware of the facts?

I used to make snarky t shirts, not for sale, just for me and one of them was "the paranoiacs are out to get me".

Anyways, I have something to do with security and logistics at Paulfest and I'd extend official assistance but this is gonna be Paulfest and anyone and everyone will be honored to help out in any way we can.

Beyond that, as we are, ain't much to say except....let's try to be examples for one another and the youngers and give them everything we can while we can. And I'll see you in the Next Place maybe.

"Next time it will be better".

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

Update: the Indiegogo experiment

In an effort to push this project along, I began an Indiegogo campaign yesterday. The deadline is 7/11 and this one's fixed funding...if it fails all pledges go back to the donors and I'm left at the point I'm at today with 1/3 of the needed funds in hand.

BUT...if it succeeds, I should be able to get my Honda modified in time to make Tampa in August, so for me it's worth a roll of the dice. (like the '7/11' tie in? Wasn't my idea, truthfully!)

I have one perk now for donors at the $25 level, a copy of 'What's Going On,' in high quality MP3 format, as performed by my good friend and fellow liberty activist Dan Hagen. If you like jazz and haven't heard his musical skill yet you're cheating yourself...look up The Dan Hagen Project on YouTube and hear for yourself!

The big perk is not from the campaign though, it's from ME: for this campaign only, whoever brings in enough donations with an awareness project (like someone with a high profile YouTube presence) or the largest single donation that meets the goal of $21,000 will become my heir in my will, inheriting my good brick home, the 1/2 acre of property it's built on, and my personal possessions, including my firearms (so long as you're legally qualified to own them), my collection of art I've accrued, and my vintage and modern reproduction tinplate toy collection.

This matching offer is only good for the duration of this campaign and will not be repeated. The only conditions are

1) if I should predecease my 75 year old mom, she remains sole occupant and the executor of my will until such time as she leaves us and

2)If someone gets the clever idea of 'disposing' of me or my mom to get the house early, there will be a codicil that if the winner's involved in any foul play surrounding my demise, they lose the inheritance and my home and property will go to someone of my own choosing.

That's it. have a look and check out my campaign to restore my personal liberty, rescue my life from the limbo the welfare/warfare state left it in, and hopefully be able to get to Tampa to cover the freedom movement's events surrounding the RNC. Don't forget to have a look at the 'Gallery' link up top, plenty of videos and pics supporting this endeavor to bee seen.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

The race is on and the clock is ticking!

I appeared as a co-host on the Combat Veterans for Ron Paul's 'Language of Liberty' broadcast this week and had the opportunity to appeal directly to guest Adam Kokesh to join Tatiana Moroz, Dr. Tom Woods, Jordan Page, Jason Rink and CVRP in helping raise awareness of this project. Here's the show:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/combatveteransforronpaul/2012/0...

I also issued a challenge this week, inspired by Tom Woods' great matching donation challenge...I will insert into my will that MY GOOD BRICK HOUSE ON A HALF ACRE will go after I'm gone to whoever generates enough views of my blog or even donates directly to complete my fundraising goal by the end of the month, or their favorite charitable organization.

Since I'll still need to physically get my vehicle to and from Freedom Motors in Michigan, as well as to generate funds to support expenses for the trip to Tampa, I added an option to the challenge: if we reach $30,000, I'll add my firearms, art, and other possesions that would otherwise be willed to my friends.

If it's done by June 30, I'll still have a good chance to make it to Tampa to join my brothers and sisters in Liberty as a friend, liberty activist and New Media journalist to support the cause.

Here's my challenge on my blog; I made it a sticky post right up top:

http://getglennmobile.com/

Also, I published an article in the American Daily Herald this week BEFORE this horribly fishy Rand Paul/Mittens Romney business came out:

http://www.americandailyherald.com/pundits/glenn-horowitz/it...

Folks, this is important far beyond the unjust situation that imprisoned me in my home. I can make a contribution using my abilities as a communicator and journalist to help persuade the public that it's in EVERYONE'S best interest to reclaim our liberties and maintain a truly free market.

But I need to be released from this prison first...there's only so much I can do from my desk. I am scratching at the walls for the chance to get out and get busy. I hope you'll aid me in this and tell your friends and family about this cause.

Brain cramp!

Ya know, it might have been helpful if I'd actaully provided a link to my 'Get Glenn Mobile!' fundraising blog, don't you think? Just shows the way I'm hitting the wall after an exciting and hugely positive day. While it's listed in all of the videos I linkked to, it rather behooves me to add it myself here: http://getglennmobile.com/

Apologies, you're seeing the major cognitive issue this stupid MS brings out...it steals the brain's RAM, and just like an obsolete computer when confronted with a bunch of new data, my brain can get vapor lock and miss something very very obvious.

Thanks for bearing with me!

Glenn

Thank you! I really shoulda

Thank you! I really shoulda joined up here earlier, but I've been trying to coordinate mainly through Facebook and not show up empty handed so to speak.

Getting myself and the legitimacy of my project established first has been helpful, for sure. For the first several months I was pretty much universally ignored. I can't get torqued though; I suspect it might be a bit of overkill from folks waking up after being scammed at every turn for years and being justifiably annoyed by that.

I remember being told about you...

I've been meaning to get into a studio for a while Glenn!

CVRP is the best!

No worries, Zak, I really appreciate the thought and awareness, anything beyond that is gravy.

I'm having the time of my life meeting and working with all the wonderful people in or associated with CVRP. My editor at the American Daily Herald, Dennis Behreandt, is really happy with this growing relationship after years of seeing canned, phony nonsense about the military that conflicts with the reality of the way they REALLY look at the issues.

Today's to-do brought about by the efforts of Tatiana Moroz and the other fellows I included in the videos she produced, aided and abetted by Dr. Woods, are the tipping point for this project. It hasn't even got up a full head of steam, I think, and I'm more confident than ever that I'll be able to get to Tampa, meet you all in person, and gather material for one hellacious article for the Herald covering the march on the RNC.

The lamestream presstitutes are making my task easier, truth to tell. By (figuratively) stuffing their fingers in their ears, covering their eyes and pretending you don't exist, they leave a wide open field for me to discuss subjects of my choosing in my own writing. Even though I'm pretty small potatoes, all the material I'll be able to gather will be in one place, not diffused all over, and should make a good reference base.

The poor saps. Like dinosaurs, they can't quite get it through their peanut brains that their day is past, and without the ability to think creatively can only throw the same tired stones as their dogeared playbook instructs they must.

The liberty movement is alive, smart and dynamic, and will prevail so long as we stay consistent in our efforts. These are exhilarating times, aren't they?
