Ron Paul's Revolution: The Man and the Movement He Inspired by Brian Doherty

This book is a great description of the Ron Paul movement for relative newcomers. Brian Doherty gives the background story of Ron Paul's congressional runs as well as his first stab as the Presidency in the libertarian party.

Doherty is one of us in describing Ron's impact in the political environment. A few times, you will find yourself laughing out loud at your own level of intense loyalty to our guy as the author describes the passion of RP supporters.

One particularly interesting discussion in the book surrounds Peter Thiel and his sponsorship of the Seasteading Institute, an organization that encourages the creation of "floating cities—which will give people the opportunity to peacefully test new ideas about how to live together. The most successful will become thriving new societies—inspiring change around the world."

All in all, you will enjoy reading the book. Personally, I derived the most value from the chapters on the seeds of the movement and seeing how far you folks have really pushed the cause of liberty.

I will not be buying it

Saw the author at a bookstore. I came away feeling icky. He is not really on our side. His main message was Ron Paul is on the fringe and has no chance. When asked to explain the IRS to a neophyte he said he didn't know enough about it !!! He claims to have first met Dr Paul back in the 80's and writes for Reason magazine. My impression is he is a sellout to the mainstream media. Very disappointed. I have not read the book, though. So, take that into account.

Hmmm

Well, the book didn't have an anti-Paul feel to it, quite the contrary...strange that he said that RP has no chance.

2 Chron 7:13-14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Is anyone else going to buy this book

and read it?
