Confessions of a "Paulbot"

We supporters of Ron Paul have been labeled with a number of unflattering terms over the years. But one of my favorites is the term "Paulbot".

The term conjures up images of clone armies; mindless hordes sweeping locust-like across the political landscape.

The irony is almost laughable.

We "Paulbots" are some of the most diverse and undisciplined bunch of people you will ever meet. Far from compromising our individuality to some hypothetical hivemind, we tend to be so opinionated and independent in our thinking that it is hard for us to agree on a time for tea.

Of any group of Americans today, we are probably the LEAST likely to fall into lockstep behind a populist demagogue or charismatic cult figure.

And yet that doesn't stop our detractors from trying to marginalize us through fear and ignorance. They intentionally confuse our conviction and enthusiasm with fanaticism. Sophisticated cynicism is an attitude that has been encouraged by the political establishment. Any group that truly threatens the status quo is automatically labeled a "cult". And this is a task made simpler because it has been so long since any large group of people have acted decisively, intelligently, AND independently without a hidden agenda.

But is it a cult when many people simultaneously decide to vacate a burning building?

And therein lies the ultimate irony.

We "Paulbots" are the ones who have seen the danger. We don't share a common religion or even an ideology. We disagree with one another about many things and often don't even agree with Ron Paul. But we DO share a love for our freedom, and we HAVE seen enough of the truth to know that it is in jeopardy.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man WILL behave oddly. And if you get enough one-eyed men together they will inevitably act with inexplicable passion and in unison to things that are invisible to the majority.

As a result it is easy for our opponents to label us as "wacky," our behavior as "bizarre," and our movement a "cult."

Easy, but very, VERY wrong.

Am I a "Paulbot"?
Sure, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
But that doesn't mean what you think it means.

What's your model #?

I'm an earlier model. Good post and nostalgic walk down memory lane. RAM of course.

Laws of Paulbotics:

Laws of Paulbotics:
1) Commit no acts of harm to a human or fellow Paulbot.
2) Support only those politicians who follow the Constitution.
3) Assimilate the Mittwits.

LOL -Paulbots must assimilate the Mittwits!

Awesomely hilarious!

The enemies' use of Paul"bot" serves to reaffirm their lack of originality and understanding -lack of originality as that was used years ago on G.W. Bush with "Bushbots" and lack of understanding as it actually fits supporters of Bush, not Ron Paul.

It's been neat to see posters such as the one above, and so many other clever comments embrace the term "Paulbot" and have fun with it, something Bushbots would not be able to do.

The local church(not a building -a people) is the missing link. The time to build is now.

One thing Ron Paul supporters

are not is robots...non-conformists, most certainly.

Some of the most independent people on the planet.

I love it.

Great post! We're paving the way for the 45th POTUS!

You can use...

tinypic.com to upload and then cut n past the image link ending in .jpg here (like the ones in my signature below)

Just make sure your personal stuff is cropped out ;) if it's too much, don't worry about it, I can use my imagination :) works pretty good.

Because of you I was able to not only get a great cover but also learn how to resize a picture and be able to post them! Thanks so much for humoring this techno-challenged lady learn something new! GB

You're awesome!!

You should have a Facebook Covers page like this one http://www.firstcovers.com/tags/2/covers.html?infinity
but with a Liberty Theme...I think it would be a hit!!

May I use this?

I need to plagiarize parts of this post for my next letter to the editor in my small town in southeast New Mexico. This comment is so on target.

Ron Paul 2012; Rand Paul 2016

It shouldn't be necessary

Make an intermediate copy of the parts you want to use. Track down the copyright holder, and ask, "may I use these parts or your work, with attribution?" and if they say yes, then do it.

Or, just go ahead and rip him off, like everybody else does.

Freedom is my Worship Word!

Well said!!

There is no such thing as a typical Paulbot except in an inherent love of freedom and respect for the Constitution. Better a Paulbot than a Romneydroid any day! :o)

Even a Romneydroid is better than;

An Obamaton.

I am ....

I am Paulbot, all your delegate are belong to us.

Liberty is meaningless where the right to utter one’s thoughts and opinions has ceased to exist. That, of all rights, is the dread of tyrants. It is the right which they first of all strike down.

Freedom is my Worship Word!

Maybe we should be called

Great Post!

The Paulbot post nailed it! Thanks!

We are like a "herd of cats"

The only things we agree on are that humans have a right to be free and the Ron Paul is more likely to allow us to be free if elected than any other candidate for POTUS. Other than those two positions we often disagree. We share the common goal of being free.

“Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire."

My Dad (1915-1998)

Dad used to say, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to remain uninformed."

Personally, I have a different tack - I'll do my best to inform you!

Name-calling is the last resort of a failed argument.

Even a grade school child knows this.
And yet how many times have we seen attacks against Ron Paul BEGIN (and end) with this, without even attempting to debate the issues?
"There, I've called you a funny name. Now go away."

The Virtual Conspiracy

So True...

...This is why I ask, "WHY?" to RP detractors and they have no thoughtful, reasoned response, only the talking point they hear from the mind control media. I am out all the time campaigning and talking with ppl, going door to door, working events and on the phone and sometimes (like now) the group think can get overwhelmingly depressing, and it's hard to go on. (I am often reminded of the Borg ~ "resistance is futile..."!) Then I think how hard it must have been for Ron Paul all those years in Congress, talking to brick walls, and I rally and go out again and keep trying to spread the word.

Don't get me wrong, there is some love and interest out there, but the entrenched, mind-controlled masses still out number us.

If my need to be RIGHT is greater than my desire for TRUTH, then I will not recognize it when it arrives ~ Libertybelle
