Ron Paul Is NOT Racist!

It sickens me to see Republicans and Democrats that STILL think Ron Paul is a racist. They still can't get over the newsletters or keep misinterpreting why Paul was against the civil rights act of 1964. We need to do something about this misconception and come up with ways to prove otherwise.

There is a good youtube video I found :

but I need some intelligent ideas about what to say to people and clear up that Ron Paul is NOT racist. It is a shame people still think this about Dr.Paul as I think he is one of the least racist people alive.

Thank you!

Thank you Mods and fellow Paul supporters! The bit that has already been posted is a great help. If you have any other sources or ideas, keep em coming. It's just so hard for me to defend Paul with just a couple sources of information, but this should be a great help!

Here's what I try to explain/say

Drug Laws and Capital Punishment - Take a look at the drug laws and even capital punishment. Dr. Paul talks about how minorities and the poor are unfairly punished in the current system under both. He talked about this during this election cycles debate, you can probably find a YouTube.

Interventionism - Foreign wars and the price in human life are often bore by minorities or those lower on the socio-economic ladder. He talked about this during this election cycles debate, you can probably find a YouTube.

Individual Liberty - At the very essence of what Dr. Paul stands for is the individuals' right to liberty and self-governance. He has never quantified this to any group, EVER, regardless of race, religion or economic status. How could someone that champions the constitution and the inherit rights to all regardless of anything be racist? It doesn't make any sense.

My understanding of the civil rights situation is that an individual has a right to do with their property what they want as long as they aren't huring someone else. As I heard him say in a CNN interview that he doesn't in any way want people to discriminate against others and to do so would be stupid on their part because they would quickly be out of business. It's not that he supports/ed segregation but that he thinks if someone wants to be stupid and discriminate against a group, the free market would take care of the problem by putting them out of business. A business that caters to all customers equally will naturally have a larger market to draw business from and be MUCH better excepted in the business/shopping/customer community.

There are more examples I'm sure because Dr. Paul is the only one talking about any real issues that discriminate against any groups. You don't here BO or MR talking about this stuff. If I'm wrong on these items, feel free to offer feedback/corrections.

More than anything

More than anything I am looking for things to say to these people (without attacking them) that might get them to think again about Paul being racist.

you seem very...concerned

has there been any...new...news stories you can cite that is causing you to be concerned about this...today?

Perhaps not in the last two months..

but the comments on various internet sites and forums still indicate to me that this is still a problem. I think the media has already planted the seed that he is a racist, and people still believe it.

I havent heard anything like this for months either : )

hopefully our enemies arent out there on the interwebs trying to dig this up anywhere where people may be freshly exposed to lies that have settled down and gone away : )

I think this is residual

Agreed, I think this is residual thoughts that have come from news stories months earlier. People on the interwebs keep bringing up the newsletters and his opposition to the 1964 civil rights act. I hope I don't seem like I am over reacting, but I think the perception that Paul (and possibly his supporters) are racist can hurt the movement in general.
