Want to Help the Cause? Know Your Stuff

If we don’t know our stuff – really know it – we can’t win. We’re up against more than just Romney and Obama. The schools and the media feed the public a phony version of U.S. history and a diet of pro-government propaganda. We have to be able to counter that propaganda with the truth.

That’s why Tom Woods’s brand new Liberty Classroom is so important and valuable for all Ron Paul supporters. There you can learn real U.S. history, not to mention Austrian economics and the whole history of Western civilization, from people Ron Paul trusts. All while driving your car.

If you don’t know Tom, he’s one of the most sought-after speakers and writers in the liberty movement, and held in high regard by Dr. Paul. Check out his credentials.

Please take just a moment to watch Tom’s brief video, directed specifically at Daily Paulers. Then head over to his Liberty Classroom, and sign up!

Sold, For A Hundred Dollars

I am glad to find this post and this effort from Tom Woods and the other professors. I first came to the comments here to see what people thought and all I could find against it were negative comments about the price. I've paid a $100 on a single college textbook that was good for one semester...let's be honest, this is a deal for a dozens of courses taught by PhD level professors. I broke out the debit card and am watching my first video right now. The quality is excellent, the information dense and I'm impressed with the topics they've managed to offer so far and like that my yearly membership includes all new content. I've won some smart supporters by my ability to communicate history and truth accurately. If you're out there just blasting "End The Fed" but can't take a person through basic economic theory, the history of the Fed and how the Fed is actually used to create money...why should someone listen to you?

We all pay for knowledge - Why is this any different?

I can't believe all the negative comments regarding the $99 fee that Tom Woods is charging for this course. We all pay much, much more than that in other areas of life for "knowledge." First and most obvious, as other posts have pointed, we pay much more for college courses of similar and often far lesser quality.

Let me take it to a different level: doctors and lawyers. Think about it. When you go to a doctor or lawyer, what do you usually get? Opinions and suggestions are what what you usually get. However, short of surgery by a doctor or a trial with an attorney, you could give yourself advice or suggestions IF YOU HAD THE KNOWLEDGE! So, why do you pay doctors and lawyers a whole lot of money to diagnose the condition or analyze the problem and suggest the appropriate remedy or course of action? You do it because they have the KNOWLEDGE to do it CORRECTLY.

You could spend years studying EVERYTHING in the fields of medicine and law so that you could just treat or advise yourself, but that is rather impractical - is it not? So you pay others instead.

So why is it wrong for Mr. Woods to charge a modest fee for his years of hard work studying and researching so that he can present "correct" information and make suggestions for the "appropriate" course of action?

For those who are able to do this on their own, they probably already have. But they are the ones who will probably sign up first, realizing what a bargain it is and wanting to give it as a gift to someone less informed.

Buck up! Pay the $99 and join today so you will "know your stuff."

I wonder if someone could

I wonder if someone could mention to Ron Paul that immigration is NOT a power of Congress.

He seems to think it is for some reason.

To all the haters ...

... hey, I've been flat-ass broke in my life, too. But when I was, I never once thought that other people owed me something for nothing.

If you can't afford or simply don't think it's worth the hundred bucks, fine.

But you can't really call yourself a Ron Paul type of person if you think there is something fundamentally wrong with selling information that would otherwise take time and effort to find on your own.

Maybe the "Obama Fan Club" would be a more appropriate place for the anti-free market types around here.

And by the way, if you think there is something fundamentally wrong with paying for information, I sure as hell hope you don't actually PAY for internet service! You wouldn't want to violate your own principles now, would ya?

Extremely reasonable price.

And those who are capable of learning on their own can do so for free, if they have the inclination and motivation. Check out the LVM website, among others.

According to the lefties on the board, though, profit is bad, unless you're a Film or Music star. Let's shut down all the businesses!

Now if Tom Woods were selling pot, that would be okay.

I modestly say I either know or could easily learn for free what Tom Woods' courses contain. But not everyone can, and it might take longer than it would with Tom's course. I might sign up just for the pure enjoyment of the lecturers.

Nothing worth having is free

Learning is a everyday event or should be. As far as getting “something for nothing” well isn't that the nanny state talking. Nothing worth having is free. Everything has a price that has to be paid. If we could really get “something for nothing” we wouldn't need someone to pay the ransom for all the wrongs we have done so we could enjoy the next life in a better place. All debts have to be settled upon parting this life. We will always owe more than we can pay for the wrongs we have done and a third party will have to “bail us out”, someone who lived a perfect life and could grant us the mercy needed. If this rings any bells maybe you can think of the name of such a person.
As far as Tom goes he for sure doesn't know everything there is to know; notwithstanding he has a head start on most and what he offers is very inexpensive because most have paid tens of thousands to learn much less. Everyone has to judge for themselves as to what they can and are ready to learn. Tom probability would be the first to admit that he doesn't know it all; however he is willing to share what he does know inexpensively. You still have to pay with your time.

The Constitution is free.

The Constitution is free. The Federalist Papers are free. The writings of Thomas Jefferson is free.

Tom Woods also provides reading lists for free on his site. He

reads and studies all the time and encourages others to do the same. His classrooms are different, and it's just a matter of which you prefer. Some people like both ways of learning. The price is negligible compared to any real university classes, where these guys teach. And it's interactive, you can ask questions and sometimes it's live-streaming. Very cool. He brings in people you might not otherwise know about. Very exciting.

a balance

He should learn from Christian ministries and find a balance of what is free and what is not. Christian ministries offer everything for free online, and then if there is something that you really want to be able to listen to in any format anywhere, you can buy it. Take for example, www.ligonier.org so much free content it's ridiculous, endless sermons and Q&As. I'm sure that Tom Woods is awesome and I'd love to take part, but it's all about priorities and for those who are strapped, they have to say, well, I guess those without the means are not as important.

Where did the piss on Tom Woods brigade come from?

Seriously. When YOU have a library of books that you've written to educated the masses about liberty, and YOU are a senior fellow at the Mises Institute, MAYBE you will be worthy to criticize the man. Until then, shoo.

The "STUFF" you really need to know...

I realize that most "anarchy-capitalist-libertarians" believe EVERYTHING should be sold for a price in free markets. I have a hard time squaring that circle when it comes to knowledge. Information is like money: It can not be bought or sold, but earned with honest labour, and "used" as a medium of exchange. "Selling" knowledge is like buying into "Fiat Currency!"

Tom Woods should stop trying to shill his "liberty classroom" in the DP forum, and buy an ad like all the other hucksters.

Any Libertarian worth his or her salt should ask themselves the question: "Why buy a cow when you can get the milk for free?"

knowlege for sale

Bookstores must really make you angry =)

TPP: Corporate Power Tool of the 1%

TPP: Corporate Power Tool of the 1%

“Have you heard? The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) “free trade” agreement is a stealthy policy being pressed by corporate America, a dream of the 1 percent, that in one blow could:

offshore millions of American jobs,
free the banksters from oversight,
ban Buy America policies needed to create green jobs and rebuild our economy,

decrease access to medicine,
flood the U.S. with unsafe food and products,
and empower corporations to attack our environmental and health safeguards.

Closed-door talks are on-going between the U.S. and Australia, Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam; with countries like Japan and China potentially joining later. 600 corporate advisors have access to the text, while the public, Members of Congress, journalists, and civil society are excluded. And so far what we know about what’s in there is very scary!”

This is a joke, right?

A bunch of YouTube links to content owned by other people? I seriously hope none of you donate to that. Tom Woods, on the other hand, has assembled some very intelligent guys on his site, and it is worth every penny. If you don't subscribe to it, which I am sure you do not, then don't make comments about it.

Agreed - it is worth every penny.

I love it.

I want to learn but I don't have $100 to do so. I guess I will just look at the topics and research on my own.

Cool Idea....Lame it cost money.

Re: Well

Tom Woods has put together a bunch of resources to get started including books (many in free online versions) and articles, as well as audio and video files that are also free:

I wanted to post this here

I found this link and I hope it helps the campaign.,

Republican Delegates Can Ignore Any “Committment” to Vote for Mitt Romney, and Can Instead Vote for Ron Paul If They Want

Look at what the RNC did in 2008

Open source... only way to go

Open source.. if it can change the world..should you hold it back for money?

Like copyright laws... you can have a better world if you pay me?
Like Apple.. great system.. but its unix that they(Apple) put a lock on and started charging for it.

Nicely done but if there is a god up there right now with out a group of lawyers to back him I bet Steve J is stammering explaining how the knowledge that was freely given to him should turn in to a elite only for more money big bucks only system.

And whats with moving the assembly off shore and paying slave labor!

Point is if you have the truth, ask for donation at the most.. once you can copy it cost is
$.001 cent should you horde it?

the reason to listen to Freedomainradion.com is he will give you anything you need for FREE!

On the other side I don't know if its not the best thing on the market and 99.99 is a deal?
Copyright laws need a Lawyer to translate it and even then a judge may come in to explain everything all the lawyer can't agree on.. seems kind of broken to me!

Just want what seems to be missing, Truth and Justice for ALL
What is fraud except creating “value” from nothing and passing it off as something?

This post is in a time machine

It says it was posted tomorrow at 10:15AM. If the DP possesses such powers, can we go back in time and make Ron Paul the president in 1988?

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

I was just going to write

I was just going to write something similar. :)

They need to add a pscychology section.....

to explain why you can learn all the concepts of liberty, explain it in perfect logic, and have people in denial duck their heads and stick their fingers in their ears, freak out and call you names.

Many that I know are loyal to their group, and won't waver. Be it their Republican club, or their Mormon religion, or whatever. That is what drives whether they will accept reason.

I have almost concluded that those who want the message of liberty will be attracted to it, and will find it eventually, while others are repelled by it, and no amount of information will affect them.

You either want more liberty, or more security and tyranny.
