We Have 1,000 Delegates! - Business Insider

"Ron Paul Festival will also serve as a pre-game rally for Ron Paul's national convention delegates, which could number up to 1,000, according to one source familiar with the campaign's internal delegate count."

Sweet

this is good news.

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our Liberty. -Thomas Jefferson

1,000

Sounds like a maximum number they hope to get to force a brokered convention.

The nomination is within reach as Santorum / Gingrich delegates will prevent Romney from getting 1144.

Tricks and treachery are the practice of fools, that don't have brains enough to be honest. - Ben Franklin

Romney delegates abstaining

Romney delegates abstaining will do that. We're gonna have a majority, easy.

I think that because there

I think that because there will be a brokered convention, a lot of delegates will give Ron a second thought considering all he has overcome.

"Hmm, maybe he IS the best man for the job after all?"

Yes

A Trans-Atlantic Banking crisis, showing to everyone just how clueless Romney/Obama are wouldn't hurt either.

One important factor many are

One important factor many are leaving out, is that the Rick and Newt delegates are the ANTI ROMNEY vote, hundreds of thousands voted for anyone other than mitt, including the MANY who voted for ones not still in the race. That ANTI ROMNEY crowd will have to back up Ron Paul.

Disagree.....

Unfortunately, those people are a lot more anti-Paul than they are anti-Romney. Many of them are neocons first and social conservatives second.

And They Want War. Too Bad.

I will never understand why so many supposed Christians want war so badly even though it is contrary to what Jesus taught. They are certainly deceived. Jesus has tears in his eyes.

Sure,

just look who their candidates endorsed.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

The party criminals are conspiring as we speak.....

....to prevent Ron Paul from getting the nomination or even embarassing Robme.

Ignore the media's lies and propaganda.

Seriously, Romney

embarrasses himself. He is an embarassment to the Republican Party, his church and America.

Run for Precinct Chairs

We need more RP supporters to become precinct chairs in the GOP. Precinct chairs vote for county chairs, county chairs vote for state chairs, and we need to kick out the neocon state chairs who commit election fraud.

R3VOLution

Please tell me what this means...

I do NOT want to be an arm of the R establishment, even though my local party is coming around to liberty-mindedness. My precinct is available but I have 0, zip, NULL, NO intention of canvassing for Mitt Romney or any other establishment candidate.

Are you saying that being a Precinct Chair (in ANY state) gives you additional voting privs that the "average" voter doesn't have??

The best place to shop around is in the marketplace of ideas.

executive committee?

I think you become part of the county executive committee, right? and can affect things like who gets nominated the county chair, what they spend money on, who spends, how much, and a bunch of other stuff...

it matters from ground up who fills these spots and who has a majority

Have heard Many times, local long time republicans distance themselves from the National republican party. Less so the State party but still even then we're the County party and it's it's own animal in a sense.

If everyone in the local R building despised Romney for the right reasons, it'd be a fun place to hang out

If constitution party and libertarian party people and the like joined the local R parties, and joined the liberty-minded republicans in all these positions from precinct chair on up... the primary debates would be basically 8 Ron Pauls on stage. Variations for sure but all within the bounds intended and not just throwing away our sovereignty, sacrificing our humanity, enslaving our economic system, etc...

I think...

I don't know why,

but I just KNOW that there are neocons who are closet Paul supporters that will be voting for him at the convention... one's that haven't even had any contact with the campaign... one's that don't want to be shunned by their party, publicly, but do want to vote their conscience.

"He did not come into the world to condemn it, but to save it." - John 3:17

"Well, you know it's like I always say 'it ain't government work if you don't have to do it twice.'" - Jerry Gergich

My theory is

that these neocons have heard the truth and cannot suppress it any longer... once they have heard it, they cannot "un-hear" it!

The truth always brings freedom in the end.

With knowledge, comes responsibility

There is a responsibility that comes with that knowledge. Hope they do something with it.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. - Matthew 10:16

You can be certain

That the ones who follow Jesus' teachings will wake up and use the knowledge they have...the right way, eventually.

Also

This got me thinking.... just because we may have 1,000 delegates doesn't mean we should stop... we should keep going!

I thought it read like we'd have up to 1000 by the convention.

That's entirely possible. I think it's possible we could block Romney on the first vote and then win enough delegates over from the other side to make a run at it on subsequent votes. But we would need the Gingrich and Santorum people to vote as a block with us against Romney on Vote #1, or Romney could still take it.

That's the strategy as I understand it, anyway :^)

no problem

We will have thousands on the scene to show them they have a chance to nominate ABR (anybody but romney).

-Benjamin Franklin

that could explain the steady stream

of disinformation in the MSM, not the least of which is Obama's congratulatory phonecall.

what they are doing is conditioning the public, so that if we win in Tampa it will not seem legitimate.

Imagine the daily attacks if Ron Paul wins the general election. It will be non-stop 24/7. If you think the republican bashing of Obama was bad wait until we have President Paul.

This is going to be all uphill, not until we win the WH, but only when the Fed is defunct and completely dismantled.

Quite possibly correct, but

Quite possibly correct, but we do have a precedent in Warren Harding. What we hope to do has essentially been done before. One wonders what initial backlash Warren Harding received and overcame in the process?

egapele's picture

...and the steady stream of people spreading disinfo here

on the DP, so please excuse some of us for being overly-diligent.

I wonder how many names Doug Wead received when

he asked for delegates to contact him? I'm really more curious about the number of "stealth" delegates. Someone posted a while back that Florida has some surprises in store - God I hope so, nothing would make me happier than to see 15-20 (or more) of those 50 going to RP.

God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it. – Daniel Webster

At the very least

At the very least, this article is very encouraging. Especially since all week we had to hear about Romney's "winning the nomination"..puke
Anyway, as people have mentioned before, we should continue on like we have 100 delegates and fight fight fight for those delegate slots. Also having a festival was a great idea and will show that our support is real, vast in number, and strong going into the convention.

Awesome!

Great way to let the revolution get its ya-yas out before getting down to the serious business of fighting the GOP skullduggery planned for Tampa.

"But Siemon stressed that the goal of the festival is not to whip delegates into a frenzy going into the convention."
