One Media Outlet Breaks The Silence

Someone tell me who this kid is with the sculpture "Ron Paul" on the back of his head. I want to pay for his haircut.

Romney can't even show his face at the conventions for fear of being booed off the stage. I say we make all his worst fears a reality. Don't let them play 'make believe' at our conventions. You will know the time.

It was one of the stranger presidential campaign events we’ve covered, involving a secret rendevous, an unknown location, an “off the record” appearance by a presidential candidate — and orders not to tweet, film, or transmit his presence.

But Thursday’s surprise Solyndra press conference in Fremont by Republican Gov. Mitt Romney is just more evidence of how much the media rules are changing in this 2012 presidential race.

Both sides — and this most certainly includes the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama — are making increasing attempts to limit media coverage, control social media, and tamp down reporting via Twitter, Facebook and video.

Shame on them. And woe to us if we cave on efforts to control and censor our coverage.

It's not advisable to the GOP to isolate and / or antagonize Ron Paul supporters. It is becoming increasingly obvious Ron Paul supporters are the future of the Republican Party. If you isolate them or reject them, then the Republican Party will cease to exist. As a group, Ron Paul supporters are large enough now to form their own party, as many in the news media fear. But we would rather help the GOP along.

I suspect maybe this was written by one of the media/press folks in the back of the room, all of whom were typing frantically away at their laptops.
