The Importance of Sleep

In a 2010 survey, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention detailed that 30% of Americans report six hours of sleep or less a night. And I’m sure the number of Americans who would say they have 6 or less hours of restful sleep at night would yield a similar or higher percentage.

This is despite some of sleep’s known benefits and relations:

* Deep sleep can lead to more positive emotions
* Sleep can assist and lead to improved memory
* Sleep plays a role in slowing or quickening the Aging Process
* Sleep can reduce stress and thus, improve immunity
* Sleep can improve physical performance, and here
* Sleep plays a large role in immunity

Naps are extremely important.

Naps are extremely important. I swear I even feel a big difference with a 5 min nap. Its the norm for a lot of cultures for a reason.

This may seem trivial.

But, remember, we're in this for the long run. It is important that Ron Paul supporters are not only well-educated, but are able to remember the facts they read so they are able to change minds. It's hard to do that if your brain is sluggish for lack of rest.

Sleep is huge and essential

Thanks for posting - it's definitely great to help inform people on the profound effect that good, consistent sleep habits can have on life performance and enjoyment.

My sleep schedule is uncontrolled

Sometimes I lie down for 5 hours and boink! Eyes are open, time to start a new day. But then sometimes I'll sleep for 8 or even 9 hours.

I pretty much try to give my body what it asks for. It really doesn't ask for much. But hands-down the fave part of my day is lying down with my crazy dogs. And I do find sleep to be deliciously enjoyable.

I used to wonder what's the point of this incarnation if we spend 1/3 of it unconscious and doing nothing but so many times I lie down with a perplexing problem and I wake up and BAM! There's the solution. My brain stayed up all night working on it.

There's some part of our brains that are smarter than we are. Probably better-looking too ;)

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.
