Doug Wead: War Breaks Out in GOP

“In yet another instance, Ron Paul supporter Alex Helwig, Chairman of the Rules Committee who made the motion to remove the chair, was arrested by Shreveport police and released. During his brief detainment, some of his fingers were broken and when he returned to the event he was walking with aid of a cane.”

This report from inside the Ron Paul campaign gives you a glimpse of the resistance from establishment Republican Party operatives as they seek to hold power.

Meanwhile, the GOP continues to experience its transformation. Ron Paul supporters are enduring false arrests, detainment, broken bones and slander as they simply exercise their constitutional rights of voting and participating in party politics. Keep in mind, the final outcome, as explained to me, was a good one.

Even though it turned out good for us...

I hope the guy who got his fingers broken files a law suit against the city... and nails them! This is NOT okay!! Cops can not just be willy nilly arresting people and breaking their fingers. This is an opportunity to fight back against tyranny.

File suit against the state. File suit on the guy who tried to disrupt the peaceful political process! Its not about getting money (although I hope the guy who was injured gets plenty of it!) This is more about sending a message!

I don't know if you caught it on one of the videos,

But the gentleman who was laying on the floor with the hurt hip said to the guys helping him, "I want to file a report. I want to press charges for this". Then the young looking (possibly Hispanic or Italian) officer gave a smug half grin, "huh, it looks like you're already under arrest for _____(inaudible)". I hope he nails ANY and EVERY person involved to the wall!

They act like it's HIS OWN FAULT

What galled me was when one of the police mutters something similar to "he had a chance to walk". Translation: Because this guy wouldn't go along with us illegally ousting him from a place to which his credentials permit him to be, it's his own fault he's now injured!

I guess that's like:

  • If Trotsky hadn't been such a thorn in the state's side, he wouldn't have been killed in Mexico. It's his own fault for ticking Stalin off.
  • If Muslims wouldn't wear the hajib, they wouldn't be mocked. It's their own fault.
  • If successful Jews and Coptic Christians would hide their wealth better, maybe they wouldn't be such targets. It's their own fault.

I think I got it.

but there are quite a few Italians there--compared to Texas.

Does anyone know if they set up people to call TX for the delegate convention that is coming up. To maybe make sure people are going to show. I see they want to do all of these things for SD, but I don't see much energy for TX...well, enough energy for a 150 delegate state. I could be wrong, maybe I'm just not seeing it somewhere, but seeing how many delegates there are, you know Romney people are going to show in swarms. i didn't think Romney poeple they would show this strong but now that I've seen the last 3 RP losses, I now know Romney poeple will show. I'm sure you can imagine they have plenty up their slimy little sleeves for TX, a roughly 150 delegate state! Are we ready for TX?
I mean are we really ready for TX? Educated, should there be a TX money bomb going on, do they need help with anything? I'm not in TX, but I will still try if I can.

Ron Paul will speak to the Texas Convention Personally

...or lead a "break-out" section at the least. That's already scheduled.

I think the Texas Republican Convention is one of the most grassroots in the nation. Doug Wead mentions how authority in the LAGOP is structured differently, but in Texas, the Convention (or so I understand it) has plenary power above the SREC.

I agree, some organization will be needed, but they may feel like Texas can be more mobilized. The State Convention will be in Fort Worth, and Ron Paul will be attending a Liberty Concert there Thursday. I think it's clearly on the radar.

The stuff you're seeing in SD is independent of the campaign - but supporting the Ron Paul effort. South Dakota has a PRIMARY, and Dr. Paul isn't "actively" contesting primaries anymore. You see more about South Dakota here because that group is stepping into the fray to supplement the official campaign's absence. They're basically carrying the flag up the hill as best they can. The states that border South Dakota had very good returns for Dr. Paul, so they see potential.

In fact, honestly, South Dakota could very well return a total for Dr. Paul that is double his Texas statewide total (~11%).

Does crap like this

happen every election cycle? Arresting/physically abusing people like this? Has it happened often in the past? This is disgusting!! I've personally thought the GOP has sucked from Nixon on out, but if this is what they resort to, nevermind all the other fraud and chicanery, ..... Bring guns! Bring goons!!

All my liberty mindedness that is so often confused with being a liberal 'hippy' aside, I'm from the "If you want blood, you got it!' mindset.

So far, our martyrs have minor injuries.

I hope we don't escalate that, but let our outrage come out in redoubled peaceful activism.

Those who deride our revolution may take more notice as they see the evidence that the GOP is abusing peaceful activists, and may even change their minds about whom they will support in the coming election.

As Dr. Paul has said, plenty of things can happen between now and November. We see the market tipping; we see China, India, Japan, Russia shifting away from the dollar in their trade; we see strange news like Obama being responsible for that computer virus that sabotaged Iran's nuclear facilities; we see a resurgence of interest in Obama's eligibility. This is increasingly becoming an unstable time, and I hope that we can be the voices of sanity and reason who can restore order, not cause chaos.

Guess this meens Ron is still in the race (lol)

John Tate is doing some good

A couple of us have been tell the truth on the Yahoo (news???) article in the comment sections. I appreciate that Yahoo listed all the comments of the Shreveport Police captains account, but also contacted John Tate. His comments to Yahoo

We may not see all that they are doing, but that doesn't mean that they aren't helping in their own way.

They may be out of OUR LOOP, but we should all be busy putting out fires, making phone calls. This is OUR freedom.

Missouri to Nevada to Washington to Minnesota is one thing....it is NUMBERS. Brains have nothing to do with it. We need more numbers.
We are not numerous enough.

Well, I think this administration wants

to provoke some kind of major catastrophic event right now to deflect the success of the RP delegate movement, new developments on the Obama birth certificate controversy, more and more news about the failure of central banking, etc. I don't know much about the Bilderberg Group meeting, but it sure seems to me that the timing is particularly fortuitous.

How could they do this?
* a false flag event of international significance ("terrorist" attack?)
* an intentional market crash (have you noticed the increase in premium for short options? They've spiked tremendously.)
* bank runs (actually, I think they fear this, so doubt if they would provoke it)
* some kind of intense military action that requires Obama rescuing Americans somewhere?
* disruption of oil supply (gas lines)
* disruption of the internet

How could we be prepared? I'm sure all here know this, but I'll just reiterate:
* By reading the real news that is available here and at zerohedge, and plenty of other sites (feel free to chime in with your favorite sites for news)
* By having 3-6 months' needed cash on hand in a safe place at home
* By having friendly conversations with neighbors to feel out where people stand
* Makes sense to stockpile some basic supplies and casually network with your friendly neighbors that if there were some kind of disruption in services/food/etc. that you would be willing to barter and/or help them out
* If/when some kind of major event happens, be the voice of calm reason and help explain what's going on (as much as possible)
* If you haven't been involved in local civic organizations, it makes sense to introduce yourself and get involved

That's all I meant.

I'm sure others have ideas on how to prepare

Why are the

high ups in the Ron Paul campaign using subtle wording like this, "Most of them will be supporters of Ron Paul, cheering on the GOP nominee," to make it seem as if Ron Paul's supporters are going to cheer on Mitt Romney if he is the nominee? And even Ron Paul's campaign has said that Romney will be the nominee. What's the deal?

Were the death threat rumors real? Or is this campaign really something it isn't? I don't like how the campaign has gone from a presidential run to a "Lets change the party" campaign, when it could be both.

I read the same thing and had a completely different interpretation.

To me that sounds like the majority will be cheering for for Ron Paul, the GOP nominee.

No, you made all that up, because your mind is made up.

What did the GOP Old Guard hear? Most of them are afraid of another term with the incumbent. Most know that the presumptive nominee is no better, in any way. The GOP leadership has gotten their marching orders.

What did the GOP Old Guard hear? They suspect that presumptive nominee will violate the second amendment, ignore anything pro-life and will invent more enemies for our weapons to destroy all the while raising the effective tax rate and growing the government even larger.

If that happens the GOP is toast.

Party unity can be had, if the Party unifies behind the Constitution and its champion. The GOP knows who Doug works for, they'll fill in the blanks.

Lets say that's so...

IF the party fears 4 more years of Obummer (so do I), and IF they THINK Romney is a lot better (I think he is, though he pales in comparison to Dr. Paul) THEN it is in THEIR INTEREST to realize, without us, Obama will win some swing states he might not otherwise take.

What if in Minnesota, where Dr. Paul took the convention, we just said "screw it Mitt". What about Iowa?
