Is it just me, or are there a lot more police giving out tickets these days?

I don't know if this is factual everywhere, but here in California street police presence has gone way, way up and it looks like there are easily 5x more police giving out traffic tickets over the past 4 to 6 months. I'd guess police departments are trying to avoid layoffs and are illegally employing quotas to save their own jobs.

Can I get a "FTP" from all who agree?

I say, no more letting the "front line" off the hook by blaming the legislature or some other bureaucracy for the passage of "bad" or "unfair" laws and then claiming "we're stuck in the middle". I've heard that much of my life. The Police thrive on passing the buck. "Uh, Just doing my Job." Time to hold their feet to the fire. Let them complain to the legislature that the public despises them because of the creation of a "duplicity of laws" designed to eat out the substance of orphans and widows.

All the Police have to do to get their Rating back with me is to stop enforcing oppressive laws and start showing "a lot" of respect. If there is a "Loss, Damage or Injury" there is a cause of action for arrest. I have no problem with that. But, no more of this "failure to specifically perform" crap. For example, if I don't wear my seat belt, even though I haven't broken any real law (there is no loss, damage or injury to anyone) I get ticketed for "failing to specifically perform" the law. That's just a social tax, not a real law, now is it?

For too long the Police have enjoyed the "benefit of the doubt". Time to hold their feet to the fire and give them what they deserve... our disdain and utter disrespect. FTP!

I've been pulled over twice in two months...

I was pulled over once before my move to Tampa, Fl which was in Cleveland, OH when I was 17 for barely speeding, but in the past two months I've been pulled over for my license plate cover mildly covering the state of the written "OHIO", and for not wearing a seat belt...are you kidding me?

Taxes alone aren't going to cover their pensions

Look for more revenue enhancements from all levels of government.

We have so many laws on the books, they could pull some obscure law from 50 years ago and start handing out fines at will.

It's our health and well-being versus those employed by the machinery of the state, folks. We need to start changing laws... NOW!

NJ - Fines In Place For Cats And Dogs That Don’t Buckle Up

Click it or ticket. It’s not just for people anymore — at least in the Garden State.

Police and animal control officers are authorized to cite drivers with unrestrained animals in the car. Yes, that includes the back of a pickup truck too. Violators can be fined $250 to $1,000 per offense.

Multiplying like RATS

The pigs realize it is going to take alot more of them to man the PoliCE state. The real issue is why they are now longer respected by citizens and how they consistently abuse their power, with seeming impunity.

Like I say, I think it is in their self-interest to hand out tickets like candy for every common infraction on the books, because they are seldom contested in court. The police departments are looking out for number one right now and it has never been more obvious to me.
