United Bases of America

Good research...excellent graphic. Please share:

Despite the pending troop withdrawals in Iraq and those in Afghanistan between now and 2014, the United States remains a superpower on a scale not seen since the days of the Caesars. With this in mind, the National Post’s Richard Johnson takes a look at the scale of America’s forces.

Beyond all of those troops I wonder how many contractors we

have in overseas installations?

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.
Thomas Sowell

I don' see Italy in this

I don' see Italy in this graphic. Am I missing something? I know we have troops in Italy, in several places: Navy, Air Force and Army.

Oyez

It doesn't specifically

It doesn't specifically mention Italy, but if you look at the map/graphic you would see that there are several U.S. bases in Italy.

We need

To have our asses kicked. I mean our government and military. I think a bloody nose and fat lip will do them some good, the elites deserve it. The US hasn't fought a real army in decades. If the elites get a war with Iran they may face the Russians and or Chinese. I know the Russians can take us down, so can the Chinese.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing." - Andrew Jackson

I understand your frustration

But what you talk of sounds like a schoolyard fight(bloody nose, fat lip) rather then the deaths of lots of our soliders and collateral damage! The only way to truly win at war is to not war at all!

We are at war with China, we just don't know it yet

http://www.dailypaul.com/168897/sun-tzus-art-of-war From what I see, we are getting our asses kicked. Remember the history of the USSR? Their system collapsed as communism destroyed their economy by central control and building an unaffordable military that could not be sustained. See a pattern here?

It can't get any worse than this..

Its out of control!

About five weeks ago I posted this (nobody noticed).

That's interesting

BTW already in 2001 just a day before 9/11 Rumsfeld declared they can't account for 2.3 trillions of bucks (a trillion: http://www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.html) so can one wonder they don't know where their bases are.
But no, folks I don't really know.
OK Imagine - just a couple of clicks can transfer a trillion easily. The amount depends only how many times you press the key zero. But a base, a military base, a US military base?
Should I believe they don't know where their bases are - they must supply them, so they must know where the bases are, how many personel, what type of mission etc... OK, it can be all confidential, but just a number of how many?
Or should I believe the things went so far they losed it, they really don't know and we're seriously f**ed?
What number they told us how many nukes are missing?..

Thanks, it happens with many posts;

this is a fast forum and luck and timing often make the difference.

Bugs in the machine's picture

Strange, when using Firefox

Strange, when using Firefox the background area in the graphic is black, and the text is impossible to read over that area. IE displays the background in white, so the text is legible.

By claiming there is no conspiracy, you prove to those who believe in the conspiracy that you are part of the conspiracy.

It's a transparent gif and FF now uses a shadowbox style tab to

display stand-alone images that has a dark grey background.

Why the creator made it as a transparent gif I have no idea. There's not much point to doing so.

If you save the file, open it in GIMP or some other image editor and save it as a JPEG or PNG without transparency, (or change the transparent background to white) then it will look normal.

Any webkit browser should display this correctly as well. (chrome, safari)

the graphic

You don’t need to read the article.. the graphic says it all.. The pic shows what we know but makes it a reality! Very nice find!
