Massachusetts GOP upholds election of Ron Paul delegates!

Wow, this is surprising...

"The Ron Paul supporters from Mitt Romney’s congressional district whose delegate selections were jeopardized by a ballot challenge are going to the Republican National Convention after all."

Janet Leombruno, looks good on you

Janet, I have to wonder if your lawyer didn't want his Farm.... LLC held to a microscope. Now go crawl under a rock where you belong!

So we have at least 18 out of

So we have at least 18 out of 41 delegates from Massachusetts...

That's 44% of the entire state delegation....in Mitt Romney's home state!!!!!!!!!

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

If we have any stealth

If we have any stealth candidates or candidates that can be turned with walking around money and dinning, we could win Massachusetts in Tampa.

We can have a wine and dine chip in later one, and set some of our best supporters as hosts on it - ie LL Bean co-owner Linda Bean, Peter Thiel, etc.etc. There is a lot of names that could go here. We need to reach out to other delegates, just like the RNC says --

We could call it the Benjamin Franklin hosting committee.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

great news but remember that

great news but remember that all of MA's delegates are bound to Romney

[Plan for the selection of

[Plan for the selection of delegates. I. 1.4, 1.5; IV. 4.1, 4.2]

All delegates ... whose selection is made ... by ... Presidential Primary ... shall vote on the first such roll call for that presidential candidate unless released by such candidate. [G.L. c.53, §70I] [Plan I. 1.4]

Time for a new tack

That one is lacking.

They will Be Voting for RON PAUL

They will be Voting for either Ron Paul, or Ron Paul!

the campaign will almost

the campaign will almost certainly instruct delegates to abide by their binding and even if they don't then the chair just won't count their votes

By the RNCs own rules they

By the RNCs own rules they are NOT bound By Romney's lawsuit in 2008 and supported by the RNC, they can vote as they wish.
Please do explain how or why the Chair will not count their votes?

according to Oregon GOP

according to Oregon GOP bylaws (I am from Oregon), yes, the chair will report the vote as if you voted as bound. http://www.oregonrepublicanparty.org/sites/default/files/ORP... Article XVII
"..Should a delegate or alternate refuse to cast his/her vote in accordance with this pledge, as required by both the Bylaws of the Oregon Republican Party Central Committee and the Oregon Revised Statues, the Chairman of the Oregon delegation to the National Convention shall report to the convention floor that delegate’s vote in accordance with such laws and rules until such time as that delegate is released from his/her pledge."

However I believe this can also be challenged from the floor, as in 'NO I DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY', after they report it wrong. And of course it can be combated by making sure the chair is a RP supporter! In Oregon this chair is elected from the national delegates at their pre-convention meeting.

Please, don't down vote or name call people who have researched and found similar information in their own states... please let them know about how the chair's announcement can be challenged, and how to control the chair. Otherwise they will just get surprised by it at the convention, instead of planning ahead about what to do.

Which delegation would be willing to chance it

And risk a rebellion in there ranks.

That is why all delegates and alternates are needed. Having and possibly increasing the 44% with alternates is very important.

And the support from other delegations will be important.
