Ron Paul's Latest Email 6/6/12

I wanted you to get an update from me personally, since we have some great news!

Due to the smart planning of our campaign and the hard work and diligence of supporters like you, we stand to send nearly 200 bound delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa. This number shatters the predictions of the pundits and talking heads and shows the seriousness of our movement.

What's more, we will send several hundred additional supporters to Tampa who, while bound to Romney, believe in our ideas of liberty, constitutional government, and a common-sense foreign policy.

When it is all said and done, we will likely have as many as 500 supporters as delegates on the Convention floor. That is just over 20 percent!

And while this total is not enough to win the nomination, it puts us in a tremendous position to grow our movement and shape the future of the GOP!

I hope every one of you continues the fight we have advanced so well this year. I hope you will finish your local and state conventions, and, if you were selected as a national delegate, that you will head to Tampa in August to force the Republican Party to listen to the voice of liberty.

We have never had this kind of opportunity. There will be hundreds of your fellow supporters in Tampa who will be ready and willing to push the Republican Party back to its limited government, liberty roots.

There are many issues to fight for in Tampa. Also, candidates like Justin Amash, Kurt Bills, and Thomas Massie need your support as we move into the fall. Across the country, supporters of liberty have won local office and leadership positions in the GOP, and we need to keep working.

Our delegates’ presence must be felt both in Tampa and in years to come.

Stand up for what we believe in. Be respectful. And let the establishment know that we are the future of the Party and of the country.

Our Revolution is just getting started. You'll be hearing plenty from me as we approach Tampa and the fall elections. You'll also be hearing of important developments on Audit the Fed and Campaign for Liberty.

I hope you'll continue to stand with me as we go forward. Our Revolution could not have come this far without you.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

We need to stay on course

We all need to remember that Ron Paul said he would go all the way to the Convention. I have no doubt that he will do what he said. We just need to keep on keeping on. Right now the best thing to do is try and contact the National Delegates. Do a Delegate search for your state. Try and find their address or email address. Approach them and be nice when you do it. Give them un-disputable facts about Ron Paul. Tell them they can vote for who ever they choose at the National Convention under Rule 38 and 37, Section (b) of the RNC rules. I think we have about 550 Delegates now. We may be able to convert some of the other delegates. It is certainly worth a try. What do we have to loose?
We can either do this or we can sit and twiddle our thumbs until the Convention.

Ron Paul disagrees with you

Ron Paul disagrees with you on Rule 38. Because he knows what he is taking about.

He also disagrees with you about having 550 delegates by now, since he said he will have 500 TOTAL in August.

As for it being worth a try...Ron Paul ALSO disagrees with that because losing with 900 delegates is still losing, just as losing with 200. And losing with 900 means LOTS of repercussions. Say bye bye to many caucus states. Say hello to many states choosing delegates by slate rather than state conventions. Say goodbye to EVERY candidate similar to Ron Paul that got into office in 2010.

On the campaign vs. Republicans in general

I have seen the criticisms of the campaign, and yes there are thing we all might have done differently, or even things that could have be expressed or said better. But when I compare that with the bone-head things republicans like John Boehner or Donald Trump say or do, it's easier to keep things in perspective.

After campaigning for Paul all season it took me a while to learn how to approach anti-Paul people and to change opinion, it wasn't easy and requires a learning curve esp. on foreign policy and the drug war.

It is easy to be a back seat driver sometimes. We are all learning, by not repeating mistakes that is a sign of success. Who forsaw the deep/outrite GOP corruption we are seeing in the state conventions and caucuses ?

I think the economy will start seeing some problems when a large bulk of 5yr TIPS become due in 2013-2015; however, we will already have a new president by then, the timing for this was not optimal. The current administration is in plan B mode, sell some of our banks and debt directly to China, which will buy them the time to remain in office and power one more term. This is a win for China that is interested in trade and can manipulate their cost wages via buying US Debt.

who's to say we can't convert

who's to say we can't convert 700 delegates at the convention?

they might have tremendous respect for the "ron paul people" if they see that we have gotten this far through dedication and sheer enthusiasm.

i think something amazing will happen at the convention, we just have to keep doing what we have been doing.

Who is to say? Common sense.

Who is to say?

Common sense. That is who.

Plus...Ron Paul has been very clear he does not want it even ATTEMPTED since it won't happen.

If it is attempted, and fails (which it will) then say goodbye to ANY loopholes for 2016. Say goodbye to about half of the caucus states too, as they will switch to primaries. Say hello to many more states choosing delegates by slates, etc.

I honestly get he feel that in September..AFTER Romney already has gotten the nomination, you will STILL be saying "It is not definite yet! Ron Paul can still get the nomination!"

You either forgot there is a Federal Lawsuit being filed next

week in CA 8th Circuit or are not aware of it.Based on these laws for starters.
Federal Laws Proving Binding of Delegates Is Illegal!

http://www.dailypaul.com/236908/federal-laws-proving-binding...

The federal laws are as follows:

11 CFR 100.2(e): ( http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CFR-2011-title11-vol1/xml/CFR-2... ) Defining a national convention as a "Federal Election" for the purpose of electing a candidate for federal office. Which states:

“(e) Caucus or Convention. A caucus or convention of a political party is an election if the caucus or convention has the authority to select a nominee for federal office on behalf of that party.”

&

42 USC 1971 - Sec. 1971. Voting rights: ( http://us-code.vlex.com/vid/sec-voting-rights-19251307 ) Which states:

"No person, whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President"

The Republican party is a private party. A legal voter/delegate is also considered a private party. These private parties are separately governed by numerous federal and state laws (depending on their location).

The Republican National Convention; however, is a federal election made up of multiple private parties which serve to nominate a candidate for the office of the Presidency (which is a federal office position).

The Republican National Convention itself is a federal election bound by federal laws.

These two federal laws alone prove that no state law or private party rule can force an individual to vote against their own free will for any federal election. Period!

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Well

this is great, LOOK AT US! This infighting is what's killing us dammit! I don't know how in the hell you all expect to accomplish anything when the order of things is when someone criticizes Paul or an aspect of the Paul campaign, you all go off on a tangent, when someone brings up a point you disagree with, you all go off on a tangent, and when someone says something derogatory to the campaign, you all call them trolls and shun them. Guess what, if this infighting continues, the rEVOLution will die off pretty damn fast. Instead of being hostile to newcomers or people with different opinions or concerns, we should listen to them and use their input to make our movement stronger. Now don't get me wrong, Ron Paul is the best candidate in America, but even he would be ashamed by this! If we want to be taken seriously and win in 2016 with Rand (or even 2012 with Ron) we need to shape up and cut the crap. So let's stop the nonsense and carry on... Ron, Rand, and the rEVOLution await us.

P.S. I really don't know why more people aren't paying attention to this article. We don't have five states (we have Maine, Iowa, Minnesota and we are likely to take Louisiana) or near enough delegates, so this is our last chance to get Ron the nomination. Spread this, bombard America with this information, this is Phase II of the campaign, get this out and expose the GOP for the disgrace it is. All of us say we want to see Paul win, so actually do something to make that chance greater, such as spread this info. And I don't want to hear "the media will cover it up", or "the GOP will silence it", we have numbers and the relentless attitude that we will win this battle in the war for the nomination. Let's do this.

we need more delegates, 500

we need more delegates, 500 doesn't cut it!!!

Frank, honest and scincere.

Just what you would expect from an email written by Ron Paul.

No matter what happens in Tampa this year the real work of carrying on the ideals embraced in the Liberty movement must continue to be fought for and advanced.

I am glad to see fewer disparaging remarks in response to the campaigns release of this email. I wonder what the mood may have been had it been signed "Jesse Benton"....

As for those that are of the mind that this is some coded message or "possum" strategy I can only say that I hope you are right. It is certainly well within the realm of possibility. However, we must not let Ron Paul be treated by us as this possum was by it's young. Let us carry on the hard, rewarding and needed work of transforming this country back to what it once was so many years ago regardless of the Tampa outcome. If we do that, we win.

Less bashing...

That's because many of us got a clue the first time these types of emails came out.

The campaign is not "in it to win it." I have no idea WHAT they are doing, actually.

So this latest email now does not surprise me.

Hence, less response from the peanut gallery. :)

I am glad to hear from Ron Paul.

I am new here, though I have been reading posts for a while. Lately, I had been wondering what Ron Paul had to say about the campaign and it is encouraging to read his e-mail.

I read through some of the comments and I noticed people saying that Ron Paul mentioned over 500 delegates, some even have said 700 to 1000. I am not sure where those numbers are coming from.

From what I read in his e-mail, Ron Paul is saying he has almost 200 bound delegates and in addition there are some delegates who support him, but are bound to Romney. Which means there are roughly 500 people who support him who will be at the RNC convention.

I don't see that he is saying to add the 200 and the 500 together, or that there is a huge number over 500, but there are 500 (or so) total delegates who support him going to the convention.

I think, based on the number reported by Ron Paul supporters, that number is probably a pretty accurate number. I think if people believe the number is way over 500 they are going to be disappointed.

That is my take on what he said.

Are you saying?

New people aren't welcome? What about people who signed up a long time ago but don't make very many comments? Are we not welcome either?

Grow up.

No

I had actually tried to sign up last night and it must not have gone through. My post was in reaction to Ron Paul's email and the comments being posted about it. Isn't that what this forums is for? To state opinions and participate in threads?

I have been paying attention to the delegate strategy happening with Ron Paul and I agree with Ron Paul that the likely number of delegates going into the convention is about 500. An impressive number for sure, but not enough to win the nomination, which is why Ron Paul said he didn't have enough to win the nomination and Rand endorsed Romney. If there was a chance that Ron Paul had enough delegates to change the outcome then Rand would never have endorsed Romney. Clearly Ron Paul does not believe he has enough delegates. I suppose he could be wrong. I hope he is.

I also want to say that I think everyone on this site is working extremely hard and I am impressed with the effort. I have been passionate about Ron Paul winning and I hope the enthusiasm of you all and the rest of his supporters does change the minds of some of the delegates who are going to the convention to go for Ron Paul. It would be awesome for the last state conventions to give more delegates to Ron Paul.

While i see Romney as the

While i see Romney as the lesser of two evils and i support Ron Paul for many reasons if more people would read whistleblower publication June 2012 and they were true patriots Obama would not stand a chance. Obama was and still is a Marxist Revolutionary. The article about Hillary Rodman before she married Bill Clinton would surprise many. She and Obama are more alike than most people know. Remember Saul Alinsky?

Bob Marshall

I wonder...

would Ron Paul support Romney if he looses the nomination? I think not. Why? Principle. Any principled conservative, liberty lover, constitutionalist or just plain old thinker would find it impossible to vote for a man such as Mitt Romney.

Voting for the lesser of two evils doesn't make a person less guilty of the outcome. Drone wars, constitutional infringement, more bankster thuggery and on and on and on...Obama or Mittens, that is what you will get. I, for one, will have no hand in it.

If the people in this country are to ignorant or arrogant to understand what they are doing to themselves by electing these individuals, they deserve what they get. We need to be prepared to take their hands and gently lead them in the way of Liberty when they realize what they have done. Voting for Mittens on any basis is loss of credibility for anyone who claims to love liberty.

Ron Paul or none at all in 2012!!!

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." Benjamin Franklin

So you will vote for Romney

You must be like one of the 10 Paul supporters that will. Hope you like seeing Obama for 4 more years.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing." - Andrew Jackson

If they are voting Romney...

then they were never true Paul supporters in the first place. Once the blinds come off, you just can't put them back on... impossible.

i get so irritated

when people criticize the campaign. ron paul chose all those people, they are loyal to him.your criticism either suggests that ron paul is senile and doesn't know what is going on, or he is corrupt. as for the campaign hiring lawyers, won't do any good, as ron paul does not have standing, he wasn't injured, the delegates were and they are the ones to file complaints. if you support your delegates, then you pay the bill. i especially disagree with people that make disparaging remarks about benton or rand. ron paul has a close knit family, you think they are going to sabotage him to further their own careers. that just makes me think that is what you would do if you were in their shoes. how do you think ron paul feels when you come up with this baloney? and you think that he should sacrifice his life for you? all ron asks us to do is get delegates, and go to the conventions, i would say we failed him, not he is failing us. you are trying to make him take responsibility for our failures. the road is long and it is hard, if you can't take it, get off.

ducky

You know what

I wasn't going to post it, but I will. I didn't want to post this because this kind of stuff has such a powerful effect and I did not want a hand in destroying anything. Now I know Webster Tarpley is a big goverment guy, I also think alot of the stuff he is saying here is BS.

But I can't help find some truth in his words. Especially about Paul be a nepotist, his not attacking Romney. It also true, Paul could have slaughtered Romney at any time and 90% of the country was waiting for him to do it. This is why I say all the time we have to be ready to fight for ourselves.

Also what he says about Rand is very telling.

Great fiction from Tarpley

Tarpley creates some great fiction...but I find no facts...

Yes, Rand is going to support the Republican Nominee, whoever it is, he has said that on Schiff and other shows...but that doesn't mean that Ron and Mitt have plotted together on this campaign.

"This isn't what the govern meant"

"Win the crowd and you will win your freedom"

You can't seriously take

You can't seriously take Tarpley's word over Ron Paul's. You guys keep saying Ron Paul was holding back, yet he had his turn in 1st place in Iowa and the voters rejected him. Honestly, it's disrespectful to make those kind of allegations when Dr. Paul was out giving it 110% on the campaign trail every single day.

"...rejected him."?

The voters didn't reject him in Iowa. The vote counters did. With 18.21% of the votes reported and counted Ron had 24% with 4440 votes over Santorum 23% (4292), Romney 23% 4183, Gingrich 13% (2460). Then all of a sudden with 19 % of the votes counted the positions changed. Makes you wonder when in other states they declared the winner already after 0.2% counted. They stole the election already in Iowa, and they stole his momentum. Everytime he gained momentum again they stole it once more. The voters didn't reject him.

People ask me all the time

People ask me all the time "dude, are you just looking for a collapse? It's like you want one to happen." I always tell them NO You Fool! I don't want a financial collapse, I don't want people to be homeless and out of work. But what I do want is CHANGE! People will not understand what we're talking about with fiscal conservatism, until they actually see the problem with the current system we have. These people can't see that their rights are being stripped from them, they have to feel it happening! Unfortunately no one can be told what the Matrix is, they have to see it for themselves. The American people will not move, until they are PUSHED to move, and the upcoming collapse will be that push.

The administration did a good job in tuning down the price of gas, people almost realized that we are in a recession. But there's not much they can do to stop what is coming. Just like how the economy pushed Obama's popularity in the polls after the crash, the same will happen for Ron Paul, and for real this time, because he's been talking about it for decades. His support will boost 2 fold! Romney won't know how to deal with the issue, and Obama will lose horribly to Ron Paul after he's nominated on the issue of the economy alone. At the end of the day, while everyone's panicking like decapitated turkeys, you come out of the shadows and say "I told you so, now are you ready to listen to me?"
