I am new here, I have a question

Hello, I have followed Dr.Paul since 2008. I must admit I did not vote for him then but plan to this year, even if I have to write in his name.I live in Tennessee and know of many Tennesseans that support him as well.

I am posting to find someone to help me understand why people like Judson Phillips of the Tea Party Nation hate Dr. Paul so much, why do they insult him in the manner that they do. I live in the same area as Mr. Phillips and have family involved with the organization and at one time signed up for their new letter..I just can not believe that this group that claims to be "true conservatives" would back Romney and not Dr. Paul. Mitt Romney has flip flopped on every single issue.....why can they not see that Ron Paul is BY FAR the best person to get this nation on the right path..

Maybe I am just naive...but I am really having a problem with their views. I KNOW I can not and will not vote for Mitt Romney ..

Thanks so much,

Lee Anne

Firstly, welcome to the Daily Paul!

Secondly:

"I just can not believe that this group that claims to be "true conservatives" would back Romney and not Dr. Paul"

...well there's your answer, they aren't real conservatives, they're neoconservatives, which might be defined as follows.

Neocon: a member of the Republican party who pretends to favor limited government and free markets, but who actually votes and works on behalf of ever-larger government and socialistic economic policies, as well as violations of civil liberties and constant war.

It's no surprise that neocons would support Romney, who is also a neocon, and despise a real conservative like Ron Paul.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Why Tea Party Was Formed

Some 'republicans' think the tea party carries water for the GOP.

They have no clue we were formed during the BUSH administration in opposition to many of BUSHs policies, same as Obama's.

These neocons care little for the three lynchpins of the movement, which I see as...

Federal Reserve (and all fiscal woes that follow that like spending and bailouts)
Foreign Policy (including lobbyists, foreign aid, etc)
Freedom (NDAA, Patriot Act, and all other issues of freedom of speech, and from excessive taxation)

I call it the 3-Fs of the movement.

No

Tea party wasn't formed for Bush. Tea Party started with Ron Paul and the GOP tried to piggy back upon it and control it.

You Missed the Point

The tea party was formed during the BUSH era in OPPOSITION to many gov't policies including his.

NOT 'for' Bush.

And yes it started with Ron Paul.. I should know, I brought Ron to NH in 2007 and was the first one to launch his campaign with Kent.

Judson Phillips, Fake Tea Parties

Dear Lee Anne,

I have tangled with this dude for a while now. He has called Ron Paul our 'dear leader' and worse.

His 'tea party nation' group is nothing more than a GOP PAC that stole the name 'teaparty' in 2009. They are fakes. He's a narcissist and a fake. This is a self-promotion vehicle for Phillips. Note that on their tea party site, his name has its own tab? Just because his group and others like TPP and TownHall and FreedomWorks via Beck have wormed their way onto the MSM doesn't mean they are LEGIT tea parties. They are not... all have been formed as money-collecting PACS. Real tea parties don't collect money from their members, they are a MOVEMENT, formed by us in 2007.

Like all the other groups that popped up in 2009, most are GOP PACS and fakes, working for the establishment.

Phillips also sent voter guides to NH people that contained wrong information about Ron Paul and pushed Newt Gingrich. His support of Newt proves he's not tea party.

Hope that helps.

Because the "Tea Party" has been hijacked by the GOP.

Remember, the original Tea Party was started on December 16th 2007 in Boston when a group of Ron Paul supporters got together in a mock tea party to protest big government and unite for candidate Ron Paul.

If you look at what has happened since then, you will notice that slowly the republican party (and its candidates who pretended to be Tea Party types) have overtaken and destroyed it.

They co-opted the movement to dismantle it.

Although several tea Party candidates won election in 2010, they have been effectively De-Fanged now.

With names like Mike Lee, Allen West and now even Rand Paul jumping on the Romney bandwagon it proves the movement is dead.

There is no Tea Party an longer because the establishment is too strong.

Main reasons for them to dismantle the party are things like Israel support, foreign aid. wars and occupations, big-government, high taxes, corporate bailouts etc.

Basically everything the original Tea Party advocated about limited constitutional government went against the grain of establishment republican beliefs today.

And they are just to big to overcome anymore.

We're all socialists now.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Move to NH

We still have a strong RON PAUL TEAPARTY here. :-)

Israel

Israel is the main beneficiary of the military industrial complex and Ron Paul's foreign policy of nonintervention is intolerable for them.

David Webb

I also tangled with a talk show host out of NYC calling himself tea party radio who came to NH during the primary.

He is likely an ordinary conservative talk show host but the brainchild of his employers who decided to call him 'tea party' so they could keep foreign lobbyists in the game.

Why do I know this?

He admitted to Governor Christie in a Tweet that he was sent to Israel to be 'briefed'.

https://twitter.com/davidwebbshow/status/187926752897679362

This is a perfect example of how the teaparty was infiltrated in order to keep neocon interests in the game.

The party PLAYERS - the big shots

wont support him as pointed out in an earlier post. But as to why local - smaller players wont - simple.

Next time you go to a fair - find a game with nobody playing and find a game with a crowd. Do this many times and you will see - 90% of the people don't care what game it is - how hard it is to win - or if you can win at all. They want to be part of the crowd. Next part of your experiment - go to the game with nobody - pick a game that hasn't had a player in an hour. I GUARANTEE once you step up - someone else will come over to the game - if you can hold that person for a minute - you will then get 5 people. These locals are not leaders - they are sheep.
It is blasphemy to say you are in the Tea Party but do not like Ron Paul - HE STARTED THE WHOLE DAMN THING - those are HIS ideas.

Go see the rant Mike Church did that someone posted on here - it is great.

Welcome, Lee Anne!

Basically, I have come to believe that most people are just intellectually lazy and have been conditioned to choose security over Liberty. By this I mean that most no longer think for themselves, they believe they do, but this is not true. This trading away of Liberty does not just apply to the obvious issue of national security, it's deeper then that. Anytime you turn to government for help or willingly relinquish your personal decision making power to someone or something else, you trade away your Liberty, becuase you are trusting in another's mind to do your thinking for you, becuase it's easier and you don't trust your own judgement (now THAT is insideous).

This is exactly what happens when you relinquish your power by blindly trusting TV, newspaper and radio 'experts' advice or assessment of an issue, without researching the subject independently. These talented, highly paid, spin doctors are experts at promoting the dominant social memes the powers that be want created and promoted. It is one way they control the outcomes in their favor.

So the media is one of the prime enemies of Liberty due to it's intent to control our minds and hense, direct society into deeper and deeper tyranny. They are no longer the watchdogs, but, the lapdogs of government.

So,you SEE it and I SEE it and all of our movement SEES it, but the masses, to our utter amazement do not for they are stuck in "The Matrix". They perceive a world based upon lies, but they totally believe these lies, and so HATE Ron Paul for he is the messenger with the hard truth, taht flies in the face of a reality of which they have great emotional investment. The truth he brings, if they choose to embrace it, must destroy the paradigm, albeit, illusion, in which they exist.

So, they hate Ron Paul becuase the truth he brings is an existential threat to them,(If I don't believe what I have always believed then who am I?) they are not willing to question their belief system. and the older we get the stronger we cling to these false paradigms, for there is a greater investment of time into them.

Few have the desire, courage, or intellectual honest to question anything that they have been led to believe, by the government or media. It's just to scary to embrace.

But once you wake up you cannot unsee it! What has been seen cannot be unseen.

I refered to The Matrix (The Sci Fi movie) is an accurate allegory we often refer to here in this forum, for the state of unconsciousness on the masses. The masses must remain unconscious so as to be easily manipulated and controlled by the establishment. It's the Big Game. Which means they actively participate in forging their own chains, which would be fine with me, except they forge mine too.

If my need to be RIGHT is greater than my desire for TRUTH, then I will not recognize it when it arrives ~ Libertybelle

Some reasons

Some reasons the tea party people will not support Ron Paul are:
Many are pro military intervention. They sincerely believe the wars all over the world will keep us safe from (whatever/whoever).
The media have so scorned and ridiculed Ron Paul that "normal" people are embarrassed to be associated. So they join the media!
Ron Paul is an under dog and people want to be associated with "the winners". It is psychological.
Many are "main stream" about the war on drugs, not realizing that the war has ruined far more lives than the drugs themselves.
It takes time for people to accept a new paradigm but soon they will have no choice due to the implosion of our economy.
Let's be the shining examples that will lead the sheep into the safety of our Campaign for Liberty. Hang in there kid!

Hi from Galveston Texas!

I sometimes like to welcome a new supporter with a special gift!
I like to think back and remember some of the things Dr. Paul will be remembered for here in his district, and then share them with someone who may not know Dr. Paul or is a newcomer.

Dr. Pauls district is enormous! Ive heard estimates of 600 sq miles, maybe not, but it sure is big!

Several times a year Dr. Paul would leave his house early in the morning only stopping to get his granddaughter and together they would drive 5 hours ONE WAY all the way up to Houston Intercontinental Airport~ Simply to meet a returning soldier and personally give him the metal(s) he had won and thank them, at the gate right in front of the soldiers family
and he did this often!

You are definitely on the right team,
Welcome Tennessee!

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

Giant corporations know that

Giant corporations know that if Dr. Paul had his way, they would stop getting massive handouts, or lucrative contracts from the federal government. These corporations manipulate the mainstream media into discrediting Dr. Paul. From that point, it's just a matter of everyone else suffering from group-think, or playing for the team.

Freedom Wins!

Short answer

People are stupid

a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat

Welcome Lee Anne I always have the same question about

Christian conservatives how they could vote for out right liars
over a good and honest man like Dr Paul.
I have come to the conclusion that they don't want the truth and any possible cuts. They want bigger and better without having to get it for themselves the entitlement mentality.
Liberty only enters there mind when it is something that effects them and they don't understand when they take liberties away from one person they take our liberty away from us all.

I have people in my family that...

...still think that way too. They listen to "conservative" Fox News, Levin, Rush & others(which are all controlled by the establishment politicians). These people are very good at throwing in stories such as little Johnny was told he cannot say a prayer in school and then mixes it with war propaganda and the like. A listener for many years has become brainwashed with the thinking. I know, because I was one of them! I was a neo-con and didn't even know what that meant. Someone slowly awakened me to the truth and it took approximately 2 yrs. to deprogram my thinking...but took many yrs. to be brainwashed by all these fake news people! With all that was told to me, I started studying things on my own. Eventually everything made sense. I found out that if you take away the unresolvable social issues, the two parties are the same! Ask those people if they can explain what the NDAA is...most neo-cons do not know. It is perhaps the worst law ever signed against Americans. Media only focuses on social issues and "conservative"(most fake) only focus on ridding of the Democrat...even if the Republican has same policies!

Keep studying, because the more you do, you will gain knowledge to answer your families gotcha questions. The one who showed me the way did not condemn my beliefs, but rather slowly took the time to give me truth and evidence. Be patient and merciful to the blind. Your kindness will draw them more than not.

As for the politicians...so many are fake conservatives! Study their voting records. You will be shocked on which ones voted for NDAA...Patriot Act...SOPA/PIPA and the like. Any that did are not for liberty. And the bail-outs also. Voting records reveal much!

Applauds

Personally I think that all of these social issues should be removed from the political limelight. They are personal beliefs nothing more and they have absolutley nothing to do with government.

Pro-Life/Choice, Gay marriage, Religious beliefs ect. ect. ect. Who cares what presidential candidates think about these since they don't pertain to their job. I don't, You shouldn't, but sadly politicians love to use these as a distraction tool in smear campaigns to shift votes. Flame me all you want but your an idiot if you base your political decisions on these topics.

When government shrinks to a managable size hopefully these distractions will fade with it so the people can focus on the real issues that will lead them to picking the right person for the job.

Welcome!

While the Tea Party originated out of Dr Pauls '08 campaign, it has been co-opted by Neocons. Neocons are folks who profess to be conservative but when you get their position on issues they are nearly always big government and pro-empire and endless war. The Neoconservative movement was begun by leftists who infiltrated the Republican party and have used it as a fake opposition foil for the Democrats. They run a candidate who is indistinguishable from the lefty Dem on the major issues and a flip flopper on the rest. Even if they lose, they win. It locks the country into one paradigm or worldview, the big government, statist, leftist one. You are able to see that Romney is not conservative. Others listen to talking heads on Fox News and believe them. The major media are all statist, pro-endless war. Conservative/liberal is a fake conflict to trick people. The real battle is liberty vs tyranny.

Hello, Lee Anne.....Welcome.

My opinion is:
"Money Talks!", Which means, the right amount of money can make or break anybody. Mr. Romney, Mr. Obama, and the Republican/Democratic parties, have gamed the American election systems with bribers called lobbyists, 1% -ers, and dis-honest reporters, who are self centered jerks that only care about what is currently called, money. For the right price they will write, or say, whatever they are paid to write or say.

That's why I very strongly support Dr. Paul.
Over many years, he has proven that he cannot be bought off, which is more than you can say for a very large percentage of our government officials, at all levels.

beesting

Howdy

The "tea party" movement started out as our idea but it was quickly co-opted by the likes of Glen Beck and GOP establishment hacks like Judson. This was done to blunt the effect of our message, water it down and keep the heartland placidly snoozing in front of the TV.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

Welcome!

I just wanted to clear up something, you seemed to agree with a post that said at the end of it, that Ron Paul was, "a gutless quitter at the most critical hour instead."

http://www.dailypaul.com/238257/campaign-over#comment-2525635

Is that what you really think, or did you miss read the post?

Be careful what you post, there are so many trolls here at the moment its hard to tell whats what.

No, that is not what I meant

No, that is not what I meant at all..I am sorry, with this tablet I barely see an entire post, I seem to miss a few thing when I scan down...and I really do not think he has quit....why would he with so much momentum.

Sweet!

Another Liberty Lover!

I have been following Ron Paul from Australia since 2007, I stumbled across him through researching economics. I finally found someone that simply makes sense, which lead me to Austrian economics!

Since then I visited The Daily Paul all the time and have learnt alot.

Nice to have you here!

I am a fellow Tennessean as

I am a fellow Tennessean as well (Chattanooga). Good to have you here.

Chattanooga!

I am also in Chattanooga!

Here is a comment I left on another post. Let me know if you think it is a good idea.

Why don't we work to "convert" the already elected delegates?

There will be roughly 2,286 people on the floor in Tampa. These individuals will be voting for the next president. Ron Paul has always said that this is a revolution of ideas. Regardless of the whole bound or unbound issue, if we can convince delegates to support the cause of liberty, it will change the tone of the convention. I suggest each person do some investigation and find out who your delegates are and contact them.

We know who will be voting and we have between now and the end of August to inform them of the truth.

For those in Tennessee, here is the list of potential delegates.

You could use the mailing address listed on the website or use whitepages.com to find a phone number.

GOP establishment

co-opted the tea party movement. All they had to do was create and fund groups they called tea party . Here's one of their "tea party " leaders in Georgia defending the NDAA for mittens sake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7iu4TQhszs&list=UU1h3bqESVdq...

The woman in the video btw is Debbie Dooley. She's in the "TEA Party" you know the one started in protest of RINO's like Romney.

Don't doubt yourself

if something doesn't make sense according to any reason or logic, then don't concede, they're wrong.

I'd guess most likely they are well intentioned people that are completely lost in the haze of propaganda that gets spewed out of the TV and Radio.

Thank you

Thank you
