Gary Johnson Just Made My Day!

Liberty Patriots!

How many of you wished Ron Paul's official campaign would make ads exposing the police state (TSA NDAA CISPA...) abuse of civil liberties and illegality of never-ending wars? I know I did.

Before some of you place fingertips on the down vote button please hear me out.

Gary Johnson's campaign just released in my humble opinion the most powerful political TV ad ever!
Freeze the video at 2,02 and you can read words: 1776 KICKS 1984's ASS! (within lightning strike)

That is a powerful ad but.....

I'm waiting until after "The Fat Lady Sings!" Gary will need a good high profile libertarian as a VP, Ron would be awesome (not sure he would do it though,) Judge Nap would certainly bring people aboard, and many others like Peter, Tom, and Lew could create a sense of legitimacy for him.

He has a Judge already...

Judge Jim Gray. He's a great man too.

Here's a video of Gray - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKgY5eOlhEc

I think you'll like him. He's a solid libertarian.

Yes he is respectable

but he is not high profile and he's probably best known for his stance on drugs. Is this Gary's VP choice?

Awesome ad! I never would've

Awesome ad!

I never would've noticed the "1776 kicks 1984's ASS" had you not pointed it out. That was trippy.

Again, that's an excellent ad ! Gotta give GJ credit for this one! And again, I hold back my support until after the RNC concludes. It ain't over till it's over.

Wow...

I'd love to know where all of this Jedi mind power predicting the future stuff is coming from. The gossip mongering is killing me. Get ahold of yourselves people! Wait until August to go bat sh.t crazy. In the mean time stay focused & LISTEN. Oy vey...

Gary will have my full support...

AFTER the GOP convention. I owe the grassroots that much, which is certainly more than I owe Ron Paul and his worthless campaign.

Oh ye of little faith

and patience. Get ahold of yourself and have a little faith in Ron.

Wow. That's a GREAT AD!!!

This puts Gary Johnson and what he's trying to do in a whole new light.

Hmm.

yeah no shit.

That's called "an ad made by someone who'd like to WIN"

Bump

For anyone who may have missed this great example of a political ad.

Ad

I like the ad except that the words criticizing the status quo are said over pictures of Johnson--that's not a good association to establish.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

its exactly the association you should make

CFR managed and owned GJ still can't quite come off as libertarian despite more flip flops than mittens. No secret GJ's CFR handler is Doug Turner who is moving up in the organization after getting his puppet into the LP slot to block that as a last stand option for Dr. Paul. http://www.cfr.org/experts/world/douglas-turner/b11203

I know some of my brothers

I know some of my brothers and sisters will disagree with me, but writing in Dr. Paul in November does little for us. This is a long fight, and the Neo-Con and Dumbocrat parties are lost, so we need to find a new way. I don't agree with Governor Johnson on everything, especially his pro-choice stand, but I'd much rather vote for him and send a message that I am for liberty and will support those who seek to defend her. If we can double what the libertarians got last time or do even better, it is a step in the right directon.

I've turned the corner on third party politics

Third party politics... those three words alone will get me plenty of down arrows on the DP! In following all the discussions on third party runs during this election season, I've been a bit of a fence sitter. For the most part, I've sided with the campaign's strategy of taking over the Republican party, despite many valid arguments made by the third party advocates. The events of the past few weeks have led me to reconsider.

The campaign's throw-in-the-towel press release, the disappearance of Dr. Paul, the vote fraud and convention antics of the Republican establishment, Dr. Paul's concession regarding the nomination, and finally, Rand Paul's support of Romney... all these have led me to the conclusion that there is no real hope for the liberty movement within the Republican party. Earlier this year I registered as a Republican so that I could vote for Dr. Paul in my state's primary. Today, I registered once again as an Independent.

One of the main cases against third party politics is that third party candidates have never been very successful in past elections and that there is no hope to change that scenario. I don't claim to have the answers to what might bring about more success, I just know that whatever third party may be established in the future, its founders have to do a better job than what the Libertarian and Constitution parties have done in the past. There has to be a greater awakening in the conscience of the American people towards liberty/freedom and smaller Constitutional government. Where does one begin that awakening? For starters let me suggest two areas: 1) Education... all the way up from elementary, middle school, high school, and our universities we need to bring back the civics classes that teach students how our government is supposed to work. That will be tough given the liberal/progressive bent of our universities which provide our teachers. 2) Wrestle control of the media out of the hands of the establishment political parties and their lapdogs. We need to find and champion more journalists the likes of Ben Swann. Taking over the universities and the media will be much more effective in promoting the liberty movement than trying to work within the neocon dominated Republican party.

Needless to say, this is a huge and daunting task. It does require a revolution, not unlike the one brought about by the Founders. I can only pray that individuals will come forth with true leadership abilities to give this revolution a kickstart, to get liberty/freedom loving Americans organized to better fight the upcoming battles. In another post Michael Nystrom asked, "What should become of the DP?" Perhaps it's being the conduit to success for third party revolutionaries?

If Dr. Paul is a qualified write-in candidate in my state, he will still get my vote. If not, my alternative would have to be Gary Johnson.

Voting Libertarian this year serves a purpose

It sends a message to the Republican Party to court us or die. The more concentrated our bloc, the harder it will be for the media to ignore.

If we cost Romney the election, and they don't nominate Rand in the next cycle, what hope do they have?

There are not two plans, but one. Vote Libertarian Today to take over the Republican Party Tomorrow.

Great comment

Thank you.

There is just too much flame within me to just drift into apathy.
With my entire entity I want to be one of those revolutionaries creating effecting real change every single day.

When I look to the future I also look at the past and remember Patrick Henry's speech 'Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death'.

Live Free

Gary Johnson's ad uses the phrase "Live Free". Let us never forget the rest of that phrase... "Live Free, or Die". From Wikipedia:

"Live Free or Die" is the official motto of the U.S. state of New Hampshire, adopted by the state in 1945. It is possibly the best-known of all state mottos, partly because it speaks to an assertive independence historically found in American political philosophy and partly because of its contrast to the milder sentiments found in other state mottos.

The phrase comes from a toast written by General John Stark on July 31, 1809. Poor health forced Stark, New Hampshire's most famous soldier of the American Revolutionary War, to decline an invitation to an anniversary reunion of the Battle of Bennington. Instead, he sent his toast by letter:
Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils.

The motto was enacted at the same time as the state emblem, on which it appears.

Thank you

Thank you brother in Liberty.

I have this feeling at times that the people who "died" are here with us together...
They are ALL here.
And they are helping us to win.

Awesome

This is great, BUT this isn't a TV add, it's too long and could he really afford to get it on the air? There aren't enough Gary Johnson fans to get this out there... are there?

Bump. I don't like being

I don't like being pushed away from fighting, right when a currency collapse is happening, and America needs us.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

My Next Political Donation...

Will most likely go to Gary Johnson's campaign to LIVE FREE. Unless Ron can explain what's up with all this craziness with endorsing the status quo.

WOW!

That was an excellent ad! I especially liked how the t.v. was put side ways...that was a message within itself! Thanks! I also liked how he called all third parties to unify.

I much prefer the word

Liberty over Freedom. Liberty, to me, just means so much more. When the word Freedom is used as a slogan, it makes me weary of the user.

Gotta give it up to GJ. It was a pretty good ad overall.

He's not Ron Paul--

no that I expect him to be, but my gut instinct doesn't feel good about him--

oh well--
