Just like the good Doctor...

You are a major talent, obviously, but perhaps swimming in the culture a little much. Bikini girl suggests nothing of a noble liberty tradition so much as the softly pornographic stripper and a suggestive victim pose. This usually does not set off alarm bells to red-blooded males, but it certainly does to most women, even if subconsciously. One of Doug Wead's stated regrets was in not getting out the liberty message more to women. In what way does this help? Just because you juxtapose a clothed intelligent blond female speaking, it doesn't take away your implication. "Just like the good Doctor, keep it family-viewing and don't use his name on something he would not have created himself.Enough using naked women already. And no, I'm not a feminist, or any other -ist. Just want it equal for everybody, and this is NOT.

"Any government that is big enough to give everything you need is also strong enough to take it all away."

I respect your right to have

that opinion, however, I don't believe that's the way to look at this and believe that almost no one will be offended nor will it put women against the liberty movement. I think it is actually more offensive to women for others to stereotype them as being offended about this sort of thing. Maybe some will be, but I believe most will not.

More importantly, when you are trying to get a message out there it is certainly more useful to use creativity and artistry and some sort of attention getter. It is beneficial to be "provocative" especially in film. It is more important to try to bring the liberty movement to connect with today's culture instead the "nobel liberty tradition" which is why the constitution is looked at as being outdated (by the uninformed of course.)

The key thing here is that Jeremy is adding to the liberty movement using his skills, know how and his own strategy. Maybe there are others that would like to make another film to suit their own styles and I am sure those would be good as well. I don't believe that he has an obligation to fit a certain mold nor reach every demographic in 15 minutes.

Lastly, Ron Paul's name is not on this short film.

Well thank you for your

Well thank you for your respect for my right to my opinion, here at liberty central. As to how women feel, very complicated to poll that as speaking up one way or another opens up a contoversy.
I stand by my statement.
As for being creative;subtlety, originality and nuance is creative. Using barely clothed women is as old as the hills. Turn the flag into a leopard skin scarf and what have you got? Soft porn. Today's culture has been wholly degraded on purpose, especially in film. Violence and slaughter are provocative too. Great.
Jeremy has put his skills into his film and offered it up here for public consumption. People will have opinions and he is undoubtedly aware and able to deal with it. You don't have to be an equally talented film maker to have an opinion on his effort. Artists get better through critiques. It is part of the process.
Lastly, he is promoting this on the Daily Paul and openly lamented that his film could not be released in time to help with the campaign. Yes, associating with Ron Paul implicitly.
The trailer and his promos have been thoroughly promoting creative use of bikini woman. Can we please just call it like it is? I'm sure there is more to the film than that, but be aware of product placement and target audiences, please. Marketing 101. He is not hiding it.

"Any government that is big enough to give everything you need is also strong enough to take it all away."

I'm sure you had an issue

I'm sure you had an issue with the Divas for Ron Paul calendar as well?

Who cares. We all express ourselves differently. It's what freedom is all about.

End the Fed. End the Wars. Problems Solved. Ron Paul.

We all have a right to express ourselves differently. No need to comment on anything really...who cares? Right. Even though you so open-mindedly express your certainty of my opinion about it,I never heard of Divas. I don't go around looking for stuff. This just happened to get my attention as I have also been looking forward to the video, following Jeremy's earnest build up.

"Any government that is big enough to give everything you need is also strong enough to take it all away."

Well I am calling

it like it is. Your clearly offended and I am not. Being that you have had the chance to see this preview then it sounds like you should not watch this movie, just as a preview of a movie that I do not like then I won't watch it. While we're calling it like it is, creativity is subjective (however, using the female body as an art form has been around for hundreds of years) and what I am seeing here is someone who is criticizing something before they see the entire film and have any context. In fact your tone in your original post is speaking directly to jeremy and scolding him instead of it being a review (of the preview) of your own opinions. Instead of watching the film before your critique you already are being critical and insulting by calling it softcore porn.I think you need to look up what softcore porn is. I do not need a poll when I see tons of women of all ages promoting this movie on facebook and twitter and this website and see only one person that has brought this issue up. Also you assume that red blooded males may not notice it (or wouldn't care) and I can tell you that that is also a pretty bad assumption or your part. Do you really think that these intelligent Ron Paul supporters would not see through a typical "sex sells" film and would not be extremely disappointed if that was the case just because we don't have a problem seeing a girl in a bikini? Well I am a red-blooded american male and if this film is not squarely focused on promoting the cause of liberty then I will in fact be severely disappointed even if this good looking girl were to be nude.

We needed it sooner

We really needed it sooner. Every time I see one of these promotions for the big promotion, it is like OK... you're talking yourself and Ron Paul up for the big White House run, but the delegates are already counted.. its almost July 4th.. the general election is in November... this is realized, right?

Don't get me wrong, this will be great for the "movement", but Ron Paul ceased active campaigning and the delegates will be at Tampa. Why not release the whole thing NOW?

I really wish I could have pursued and released this sooner too.........but it's not like I have all the time in the world to create this film. I have a company to run, a family to take care of and precious little time beyond that. I had a ton of work commitments I could not back out of earlier this year, so as much as I wish I could have released this sooner, it wasn't practical to consider.

And please remember, nobody is paying me one penny to do this......

So I'm doing my very best to contribute to the cause of Liberty. Hopefully this piece will help.

Thank you for your reply.

That is a good enough reason as any. Thank you.

Great job.

Great job.

Jeremy Richter and Doug Wead will be live tonight June 23 at

9 PM EST on Ron Paul Tribune at http://show.ronpaultribune.com/ . Be sure to check it out and you will be able to ask questions live and as you see the program that we use is very personal so be sure to check us out.

Is this going to be something clean that I can send to my pastor and church leaders? So far, the preview won't fly with the bikini girl - is there more of that in the main video? And can I view it later since I'm gone that night?

That's great to hear.

I am very glad you took the time, money and effort to put this together. If you publish it with the subtitle text in English, I am certain it will get translated for maximum reach.

Great suggestion!

Tacky and Tasteless

It is just real tacky and tasteless! If you don't get it, perhaps you should be voting for Donald Trump! We're trying to represent the best of Ron Paul, not the worst of Donald Trump! Obviously, Jeremy valued Ms. Erickson's speaking value a lot less than the value of the look of her in a bikini trying to look dignified (and she's not even that hot), otherwise we would be hearing her say something! Why doesn't he put an attractive male in a bathing suit holding the flag? Would you be defending this if it were a man in a bathing suit? That would be ridiculous, wouldn't it? Well so is a woman in a bathing suit.

Jeremy wants to do a video bomb? Well this video may do just that!

LIBERTY2ME's picture

I'm with Happy... I

I'm with Happy...
I understand there has been a lot of time put into this video, but that doesn't mean that makes it right. We all want the same goal, but the girl is just strange. It kind of reminds me of Herman Cains video, the old man smoking cigarette, it was just odd and no one really got it.
Not trying to be cruel or insulting, I think the rest seems pretty good, it's just all of a sudden there's a girl in a bikini...its just weird and out of place.
I was told before the girl is smart and an RP supporter...thats all great but it has nothing to do with this.

My goodness...

Wow, just wow. Again you fail to understand the iconography of Lady Liberty.

"The roots of the iconography of Liberty can be found in the Roman Republic (510-44 B.C.), where Liberty was envisioned as a Goddess. She underwent a resurgence in the 16th and 17th centuries, when neoclassical artists bonded the iconography of Greek and Roman divinities with contemporary abstract ideas, such as Servitude and Concord. But it was not until the late 18th century that the neoclassical image of Liberty became ubiquitous and politically consequential. The neoclassical Liberty is always a female figure, usually partially nude, sometimes wearing the liberty cap (the Phrygian or slave cap of Rome that signified a slave had been freed), bearing the liberty pole, and crushing chains or the crowns of tyrants underfoot." http://ncsmodules.unl.edu/liberty/introduction.php

Here is the state Seal of Virginia circa 1776 depicted with bare breasts. http://ncsmodules.unl.edu/liberty/content.php?id=lby.00108

And again my previous examples:

French Revolution: http://endtimepilgrim.org/liberty.jpg

U.S. 5 dollar Silver Certificate: http://www.philadelphiafed.org/education/teachers/publicatio...

If I had the time and still had access to the art history slide room from my Alma mater I could get even more depictions of Lady Liberty scantily clothed, but alast I've graduated. And I've made my point clear.

Now if you don't understand, well maybe you simply want to put your own views of puritan-based morality over factual evidence to the contrary.

Are you telling me that if an American Olympian who (often scantily clothed in summer olympics) waves the flag of the United States after a victory that would not bring a tear to your eye or a lump in your throat? I do not understand your ideology. I will never understand this.

IT IS NOT A MARKETING PLOY!!! You people are still going to vote me down I guess because you refuse to understand differing viewpoints, what makes you any different then the Neo-cons at that point.

This is absolutely ridiculous!!

This man has poured considrable time, effort and creativity into this and you guys are lambasting him on a 1-2 second clip in a preview without context?????

This is frustrating.

I appreciate the work trying to put together something creative and inspiring, and just trying is a success in some part. However, trying to spin this as Lady Liberty... that seems to be a bit of stretch. Some of us just don't want to make the campaign and ideas look bad, and are offering some advice as this was the 3rd time he's been promoting this to us, and I think the bikini girl was in at least 2 of them. Although me writing in so much is probably giving it too much credit as to how much damage it could do. As for creativity, a girl in an American Flag really has been done to death, just do a Google search: http://goo.gl/psDUy
As for taking time away from his family, in order to photograph pretty women in bikinis? I know the motives are in the right place, but it still doesn't look good. I'm not saying I'm perfect, far from it. I just think Jeremy may look back on it someday, and go, "what was I thinking?". I would like to buy all of you a beer, everyone trying to make a difference.

Good Stuff jscottb15

You and I should grab a beer together sometime. Your passion - and logic - seem to jive with mine perfectly :)

Appreciate your help pointing out all these great examples - it's definitely appreciated.

I'm rounding 3rd base over here with the short film. So excited to share with everyone next week!

And you're basing this off of 5 seconds of footage???

What's even more tasteless is people basing their opinions without seeing the full product. Also tasteless is the inability to be constructive in your criticism and writing off the entire film. Where's your creative contribution to the rEVOLution??? Where's your hours, days, weeks of your free time away from your family being spent. Also, looking at the comments below I can see you already expressed your opinion and were given an explanation, yet you're still trolling on.

Your type of comment is what really makes people unattractive.

Thanks for the feedback, Un-happy-girl.

Unhappy Freedom Ninja

I'm not a girl, and I'm not unhappy, I'm just not impressed with this. The happy girl is my wife. My contribution is thousands of dollars of hard earned money to the Ron Paul campaign, planting Elect Ron Paul signs all over this county, converting people face to face by explaining the issues, and also days creating an Android app to promote Ron Pauls issues. So it's okay to rate it as awesome and creative from 5 seconds of footage, but not okay to critique it? The explanation he gave was no good. Okay, so I'm trolling for standing up for something that is right, but Jeremy is not trolling by putting this in front of us 3 times now? Sorry that I posted again, but I don't have 12 actors with different accounts helping me put a positive spin on this.

Good for you.

In this video you asked for subscriptions via Youtube. I did and I hope it helps. I'm truly appreciative of EVERY grass roots movement to promote freedom. I can tell that you put a lot of work into this. Thank you.

I can appreciate the model waving the flag. But there are those that I have been preaching Ron Paul's message to that wont appreciate that artistic element (namely my parents who know Mitt Romney personally).

Someone here suggested a version of the video without the model. I like that idea! Kind of like clean flicks, which my parents subscribed to before the government shut them down.

Anywho, keep up the good work!

This is fantastic!

Jeremy, as someone who works in the ad business here in Canada, I find your dedication to Liberty thoroughly exciting and inspiring!!! I've been waiting for your film to come to fruition since your announcement and cannot wait to send it around to my friends, family and work colleagues to spread the rEVOLution north of the border! I have faith that your use of Lady Liberty is well thought out and something I can surely understand. It's just a visual hook. It may not suit the taste of some of the more mature among us but if it gets the attention of some high school kids and they tweet it and post it to their FB and helps plant the seeds in their minds, then I'm all for it!

Ron Paul sets such a fundamental example of Individual and National Liberty that ALL people and nations should live by and your film will be a catalyst in the delivery of that message. I salute your passion, creativity and giving this your absolute best!! And much respect and appreciation goes out to all those who have helped in making this a reality!

This WILL go VIRAL! Freedom is CONTAGIOUS!!!!
