Hannity / Politico: Rand Paul Endorses Mitt Romney

http://youtu.be/3c5odNzKVbk

Politico reports:

The endorsement came in an appearance on "Hannity," a little less than 24 hours after the elder Paul acknowledged in an email that his delegate total is "not enough to win the nomination."

Romney embraced the endorsement in a press release, calling Rand Paul a "leading voice in the effort to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty."

Official Press Release on Mitt Romney.com

Mitt Romney today made the following statement on receiving the endorsement of Sen. Rand Paul:

“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of Rand Paul. Senator Paul has been a leading voice in the effort to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty. Over the past three and half years, President Obama has made government more and more of a presence in our lives, and Americans can’t afford four more years of the same failed policies. As President, I will reform the federal government and make it smaller, simpler, and smarter. I am grateful for Senator Paul’s support and look forward to working with him to get America back on the right track.”

Why does this article have a score of -1152??? Cognitive Dissonance?

SteveMT's picture

-1152 is a number that will live in infamy on the DP.

Let this 2012 story be one for future reference. Otherwise, let this thread go.

And in the end,

What did Rand Paul gain?

http://www.dailypaul.com/248984/what-did-rand-paul-gain

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

Imagine if the tptb switched

Imagine if the tptb switched plans and had romney win and everyones all bush era again and there is rand , the new ron paul batshit conspiracy theorist with .5 percent of the vote for the next 30 years .

I mean come on , doug wead said romeny openly threatened to destroy ron paul and ruin rands name , i remember a few radio hosts die too , i think ron and rand " lived to fight another day " and i think it worked .

After the rnc alot of republicans would say " i dont like ron but i like his son " and this set him up for filibuster , he had enough support they couldnt use the filibuster as a 13 hour laugh fest at the ole conspiracy theorist like father like son .

So media had to ride it out , people listened and when the president admitted he does think is legal to kill americans on american soil that was it , rand stepped up to a stop where they cant openly trash him and treat him like ron , that gave him the ability to really start playing the game and here he is a front runner , a REAL frojt runner , not propt up by media , and jot easy to tear down by media , the romney endoursement was key , i wish people would get over it .

He gained alot, he gained

He gained alot, he gained respect from the zombie hoard. Who will be mindlessly on our side next time around. It was a smart move politically. Maybe not to popular for the purists. Granted I'm a purist but i know strategy when I see it.

The end has yet to come

.

Hannity

Is a wuss!

It's time! Rand Paul 2016!

"Truth, Justice, and the American Way!"

Romney supports auditing the Federal Reserve ????

Senator Paul, when exactly did Romney publicly state that he wanted to audit the Fed and wanted more oversight and transparency of the Fed as you recently claimed?

Note: In this video clip Obama clone, professional flip-flopper and etch-a-sketch candidate Romney supports Ben Bernanke and the Fed.

Anyone who turns on Rand

I am voting you down.

Rand is one of us. He wants a balanced budget. That is his main goal.

I can't watch the video, it's hannity

But I still support Rand. I think he is a trojan horse. Rand is going inside the establishment gop. He wants a balanced budget, that is his goal. He is going after the gop establishment. Do not turn on Rand.

Are we letting Trygve Olson get a free pass or dealing with him?

Seriously, we can't keep ignoring our Jessie Benton and Trygve Olson problem guys all the way into Tampa.

Shouldn't we be sending letters or informing our local leaders that we need to ask them to leave the campaign? If they insist on staying we can have them on garbage duty at a local office.

Does the Ballot-Box exist as a Free-Market Tool?

It does not exist in the basket of free-market goods (even when we use the latter term incorrectly .

Can we gain a free-market from voting and lobbying -- when voting and lobbying (the ballot box kind) result in the direct circumvention of consumer-will.

If we agree with Mises that a free-market is a consumer-sovereignty and that a consumer "controls" via the daily-dollar-vote -AND- (according to Mises) the only way to maintain a free-market is via daily-dollar-voting; wouldn't then the obvious conclusion be that to ENTER a free-market we'd need to use free-market tools?

Companies grow wealth (in a free-market): 1) Consumers-who-Purchase and 2) Consumers-who-Invest

That's it.

We buy stuff and we invest in entrepreneurial activity (invest time-money-assets-talent)

Voting and Lobbying Profit opperate in a Monopoly

they are not free-market tools.

So, how can you expect them to drive society towards a free-market?

We live under corporatism and so does the ballot box.

The capitalist ballot box only allowed (during the Founder's days) "some" white men to vote (not all white men could vote). Obviously no women or minorities could vote.

The Wealth of Europe came from Forced-Relocation or Forced-Allocation of Indigenous People -OR- when one European country conqoured the assets of another European country.

Therefore the "wealth" of the Founder's either came from European sources, an allowance or gift from the Crown (William Penn) - the crown gaining it from asset-theft, or from direct theft from the Crown (revolutionary war).

Without Land-Theft, Forced-Relocation, Slavery no wealth (in European "old-world" terms) could be had here in the states.

Banking built off of: Fuel, Mining, Cash-Crops (sugar cane, grains, starches, tobaccoo, cotton - etc), control of the Supply Chain, and Drug Crops.

Wars fought for: Fuel, Mining, Cash-Crops (sugar cane, grains, starches, tobaccoo, cotton - etc), control of the Supply Chain, and Drug Crops.

Slave Labor (used for): Fuel, Mining, Cash-Crops (sugar cane, grains, starches, tobaccoo, cotton - etc), and Drug Crops.

Ron Paul for President's picture

After much consideration, it is the same as my gut reaction.

Dr. Paul does not go along to get along. He votes the constitution and builds coalitions when possible, otherwise, he has gone alone.

He has been unwavering in his message of returning to the constitution and accurately predicting the housing bubble, etc...

He advocates peace. He has stated before in speeches that we all do what we think will push the cause of liberty forward peacefully.

So many of us support him for these reasons. Our support is leverage and the establishment knows and fears this.

Rand is the opposite.

For the reasoning above, Rand made a poor choice. He is never going to have a positive relationship with the establishment much less the upper hand. He now has lost a good deal of support from those who support Dr. Paul and the establishment knows he has lost leverage. They are the bullies. They are going to tell him what he can or not do.

He has now assumed the position of so many who will have no choice but, to compromise.

Many of you have not thought this through

Do you really think Rand would just go off on his own to screw with his dad? The Campaign insiders...Ron Paul and his family, Rand, and the others closely associated with the Campaign, mapped Rand's move and other moves well in advance. That is not to say that they are always good moves. But this has been decided ahead of time, to help Ron Paul as much as possible.

It is also about building coalitions and becoming a recognized component of the GOP. Even if Ron Paul is not elected President, we are still winning. Look at how well we are doing in many of these state and district conventions. We have people running for office. We are taking-over central committees. We are educating people on the Fed, the TSA, Agenda 21, NDAA, CISPA, etc.

I'm writing in Ron Paul's name if he doesn't get the nomination. Even if Rand is the VP candidate, which is unlikely. If Rand runs for President in 2016, I will more than likely vote for him. I sort of hope he stays in the Senate, and Judge Napolitano runs. We will see.

I love Ron, and I like what Rand has done so far, except for the poor timing of his support of Romney. Rand is a sacrificial lamb, and a bridge-builder. He was wrong about the Iran sanctions. Otherwise, he's been very good.

Joe in MD

:-)

Very forgiving of you.

I watched young veterans of the wars hand Ron Paul service ribbons.

Rand Paul knows of the sacrifices that the supporters of his father have suffered.

Yet, Rand Paul has simply left his cleat marks across the backs of these supporters.

We are not here "hat in hand" to bow before Mittens Rombot.

Mittens isn't going anywhere without support of this demographic.

Rand Paul knows that gratitude is the least felt human emotion. He knows that Mitt Romney has demonstrated no compunction in placing his interests before his shareholders and bondholders.

Rand Paul went into this knowingly. The consequences will be felt at the election. To the extent that I'm able to do so financially I will be supporting his opponent in KY. There must be a consequence to this treachery.

First $1,000 contributed to Gary Johnson

Hey Rand, Today I unsubscribed off of your spam Email list.

Also, in order to avoid the positive effects that you hoped to provide Rombot Mittens by your endorsements, I sent Gary Johnson $1,000. But, I'm not finished, I'll send more later. And, I'm going to put the recruiting and fund raising efforts that I'd directed towards your and your father's campaign towards Gary Johnson's campaign. So, any benefit to Romney, and by transfer -- to your political future, that might have been recognized by your endorsement, will hopefully be negated when independents are encouraged to support Gary Johnson.

Rand, now you aren't anything but a small town physician without a set of ideals and a group of loyal supporters that temporarily is a Senator. It is a shame that you lost sight of this when you abandoned us to help that despicable excuse for a human being known as Mitt Romney.

Before your endorsement of Mitt Romney, I was looking forward to Rand Paul 2016.

By the way, my contributions to the RP 2012 campaign can be verified on the federal website.

Scott McMillan

Good grief, people!

How much fucking whining do you want to do?
Whining doesn't do jack shit for getting us anywhere.
Whine yourselves into a pity party, for what?

I hope to God I never get stuck in a foxhole with any of you worthless cry-babies.

There is no other campaign. Ron Paul is the best we've got, and he has picked his staff. Your input on whether you like his staff is not requested.
You can like it, or don't like it, and I don't much care.
Support the final stage of this campaign to the end, or get the fuck out.
You don't have any fucking alternatives, and none of you are even presenting any, because there are none. You just want to have a whine-fest, and tear down Ron Paul's efforts.

Do us all a favor and leave. We don't need juveniles who can't suck it up and get the job done if they don't get their candy from their mommy.

Sansu once said.

A general must be able to mystify his troops by false words and in appearances therefore to keep his plan in total secrecy.

As a regular guy who has made plenty of mistakes in my life and said and done things that I regret I am not going to judge Rand or Ron for that matter in the decision that they have made.

I am also not going to judge anyone who is frustrated and angry at at this decision we are not just machines that can be turned on and turned off. Most of us to put our heart and soul into this campaign and for many years it's only natural that the sting of the battle is still in our vains we want to continue to fight.

We we will continue to fight and I think that's what this whole thing is about we will continue to fight.

I learned a lot of things from Ron Paul and Rand for that matter. As most of you might know I am also running for Congress to. So I know that you can make a a lot of bad decisions and good decisions along the way.

I have also made up my mind Rand Paul might support Mitt Romney but I will never support Romney.

Dude, I think that was Sun-Tzu

RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION: The Daily Paul Is Crawling With Neo-Cons

RON PAUL R[3]VOLUTION: The Daily Paul Is Crawling With Neo-Cons.

Just wanted to point that out (...in case it was not obvious enough!) before going to bed. Nothing new. All of you know that.

Happy weekend to all of you :)

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Wisdom Strategies

Well Im certainly not a neocon

checkout my website employmentforthe99.com

Neo-Con would be a step up...

..when matched against socialists.

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Nice to know you would never support Romney.

And I agree you are not a neocon. Judging by your website, I would say you are more a communist/socialist.

But however you define yourself, you certainly are not freedom loving as you would enslave some of us by taking wealth from us and giving it to others in a highly wasteful and destructive manner.

You certainly seem to like big government, and would use more of it to treat the symptoms of slavery instead of understanding it is big government in the first place that creates slavery.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

It would be nice if I could be as idealistic as you.

however in my precinct we have 50% unemployment for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. What good is freedom when you have no job, no money and no future. The hobos that ran trains in the 30s certainly had freedom but I don't consider that to be a step forward in society.

If I was to go to my district and tell those young people the most pressing problem we have is an unbalanced budget I would be the laughing stock of the whole County and rightfully so.

Have you ever considered the idea that an anarco – capitalism is just a theory that no longer works I mean consider the Bush tax cuts they been a complete failure haven't they.Have you not considered the fact that jobs are just becoming obsolete we are being replaced by computers and robots why is it that you the first thing you libertarian/neocons want to target is not the big banks or corporate welfare.

No the first thing you want to target or poor people because they are the most vulnerable in our society and they are the easiest ones to balance the budget off their backs.

Socialist/ Communist call me anything you like just don't call me late for supper.

Sounds socialist

There are no jobs because they went to China. Minimum wages did that.

Socialism doesn't work, because these central planning ideas all have side effects far worse then their intended benefit. But as long as people keep thinking they can make the world better if they just control this or that, they will allow an avenue for people like Stalin to come to plan society - and a loud "meh" to that.

Like a Knife in the Back

So Rand Paul "was out on the Trail campaigning for his father" and then he suddenly comes out and endorses Mitt Romney? ...and not only that he chooses to announce this on the Shaun Hannity Program which Ron Paul especially dislikes!

-Bloatedtoad

The two people being so negative

have been here all of 48 weeks and 24 weeks. They are neither wise nor do they understand strategy however they do both understand nasty. I call troll! They have not been here long enough to understand this movement and I personally find them nothing but offensive and rude. It sounds like we have two kinds of trolls on this site now. We seem to have a group of Libertarian types who seem to only believe liberty is for libertarians and no one else. We also seem to have a new type of troll that believes anyone in this movement who is taking the message of liberty to any other Republican using any different method is a Judas. Nah! Not falling for it. Sounds like the trolls are trying to contain our message. I say good for Rand for being willing to take the message of liberty to the Tea Party any way he chooses to do it (they are actually not happy with the establishment either). Anyone who is disturbed by the message of liberty being taken to any other person in any way possible is a troll. Liberty is not for any group it is for any individual, who has breath, anywhere in the world. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. You think the Lord only cares about the American people? no he loves all his creation! this not a r[hate]ution. It is a r[love]ution. To much hate going on around here lately. The movement is about us if you don't like the way rand spreads liberty find a way to do it yourself.

Before you whip out the 24

Before you whip out the 24 and 48 week nonsense, I've been here just as long as you.

"If you don't like the way rand spreads liberty"

Spreading liberty? Endorsing Mitt Romney who is for the NDAA and foreign intervention is spreading liberty?

"It sounds like we have two kinds of trolls "

With everyone accusing everyone else of being a troll, it's completely lost any meaning. You talk about love, and still go down this path. I would expect more from someone that's been here 4+ years.
