Gary Johnson or Mitt Romney?

Ron, I understand why you and Rand are doing this: to reform the GOP and give your son a place of power within it, but I fear the GOP is beyond hope as long as Southern Evangelicals dominate it.

For me the better message to send America is a rejection of the Duopoly. Let's get Gary Johnson to 15% in national polls in order to qualify him for the presidential debates. Down with Obamney! Go Gary Johnson!

gary johnson has my vote

i would love to see paul supporters get together and vote for gary johnson, lets prepell 3rd parties into the limelite and help break the back of the democrypts and rebloodlicans

Jesse Ventura

is in the house! It's true, politics is nothing more than a mafia. Who controls the turf, streets, neighborhoods, etc... The kicker is that it is totally and completely legal. Sell a joint, you are going to jail. Sell a soul and get rewarded

Stay the course for delegates

If Dr Paul feels that his supporters can change the GOP then I say we go all the way to Tampa....It definitely can't hurt. In the meantime, I think that maybe we should all help financially support those RP delegates that need it to pay for the trip etc. As far as voting, Missouri does not recognize write-ins and quite honestly, even if they did allow it, the media would not tell us how many write-ins Dr Paul got. So I will support Dr Paul to the end and IF he does NOT run 3rd Party, Gary Johnson has my total support and vote. I will never vote Republican or Democrat again. PERIOD

I've been struggling between writing Ron in, or voting for GJ:

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that write-ins don't get reported, and staying home won't prove anything.

I want to send a message to the RNC, the Country, and the World. An irrefutable 15%+ sucked away from Romney to Gary Johnson would be a powerful message.

They need to see that their 'choices' for us are unacceptable, corrupt trash with horrible policies. They need to know that we will not abide by their vicious tactics any longer. We demand lawful election processes.

Among Obama, Romney, and GJ - I think Gary is the lesser of evils. He's not Ron by a long shot, but I don't believe he's some whacked-out globalist bankster puppet either. I don't believe Gary would expand the wars or the police state. If we don't get the nomination, I'll be voting for Gary.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

Write in Yourself

First off, I wrote Ron Paul in for the 2008 election. It was satisfying while writing it, but obviously the write-in's are never counted and never reported at all - so you might as well write-in yourself, or even Mickey Mouse, or just not vote. The end result is the same, uselessness.
I REALLY REALLY hope that Paul can take Tampa, but seeing the GOP at work through this primary election has really opened my eyes to the depth of the corruption and influence peddling, and they will try to prevent Paul at all costs. They would even sabotage their own party to sabotage Paul's run. Also, I suspect that the army of stealth delegates are a fantasy - but, of course hope otherwise.

That all being said, Ron is definitely my first choice as he has principles and hasn't sold out on them. I like principles.

Romney is my very last choice unless he promises (yeah, I know) to have Ron on his cabinet. Romney has zero principles.

So, realistically I have to choose between Obama and Johnson.

Obama and socialism will at least hasten the coming crash the most - possibly leading to a massively reformed government.

Gary Johnson is quite weak on Libertarian philosophy, but isn't afraid to use the veto, doesn't put up with congressional BS in the bills, and is very very fiscally conservative. He also believes in the results of Libertarian principles, though lacking the foundation.
An added benefit of voting for Johnson is to help propel the Libertarian party out of the cobwebbed recesses of politics and give it legitimacy to the masses. We can continue to invade the GOP while voting Libertarian if the GOP doesn't offer us liberty candidates.

“If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.”

Being a libertarian for 15 years

or so, I'll probably waste my vote on Mr. Johnson if the cards fall where the seem to be headed mostly because he realizes what a disaster the drug wars have been and to me this is one of the most important and pressing issues of our day (Mitt would rather have rampant crime terrorizing communities and sick folks suffering than come to his human senses and heart.) That said, Johnson strikes me as a bit of a statist in other critical areas. He's certainly better than Mr. Patriot Act Bob Barr and his brand of "liberty". Isn't Michael Badnarik still alive? Wonder why he didn't give it another go, I appreciate him. Oh well. Still holding some hope for Dr. Paul, whether that be in the stealth republican campaign or third party. Beyond that, it's on to identifying the next champion of freedom and somehow, I don't think it will be Justin A from Michigan. He'll be better off sticking with the Congress side of things. Then again, I'm still waiting for a candidate to talk about the Bank Secrecy Act and Money Laundering laws and FinCEN so I might have some waiting to do for the perfect choice. I better continue to get off of my ass and out there injecting liberty into the streets.

Be Libertarian With Me

Here is the new video ad from Gary Johnson: "Be Libertarian with Me." It is very effective. Watch and think about it. No way will I vote for Mitt Romney.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2X3QR...

Gary has my vote but would like to see a cabinet level position

for Ron The Constitutionalist..Romney and Obama would be smarter to court Ron..

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

If Gary Johnson can somehow

get himself into the debates, I will support and vote for him. If he cannot get into the debates, he can forget about it. Without getting into the debates, he won't pull 5% of the popular vote.

The bold effort the present bank had made to control the government ... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it-Andrew Jackson

he needs 15% polling in order

he needs 15% polling in order to be in debates. horse crap, but thats what is needed

total horse crap AND

the pollsters don't even include his name in the polls!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gallup is one of the pollsters AND they are also advisors to the Presidential Debate Commission. What a friggin farce.

I wrote to Gallup asking why Johnson wasn't included in the polls and, well, their answer was just plain stupid. They need some sort of pressure...

This is not helpful

...why can't we have a reasonable conversation about other libertarian politicians? We are libertarians, aren't we? Or are we just idolizing a man?

direct me to the

Daily Johnson and we can have that conversation you are so eager to have.

And what does that mean, 'other libertarian' politicians? You certainly cannot be writing about Dr Paul. Dr Paul is a registered Republican, Republican Congressman from Texas, and running as the Republican Presidential candidate.

Now all you 'libertarians' who claim to support 'free speech', vote me down and show the world how you have NO respect for free speech whatsoever if it doesn't agree with your mindset.

They named it after a political philosophy rather than a man, and really "The Daily Johnson" just sounds like a gay porn site anyways.

I'll wait

I really like Gary Johnson BUT I will wait until we hear from Dr Paul. He brought us this far, I don't think he will leave us hanging for long unless they are keeping him in the dark about what is really happening.

Your God just sold you out

Your God just sold you out for his Jesus. You think this isn't all orchestrated for Rand's benefit?

About Gary Johnson

I wanted to help to clear up two misconceptions.

1. Voting for Gary Johnson in the general election, if and only if Ron Paul is not running, is not a sell-out or anything of that sort.

2. Voting for Gary Johnson in the general election, if and only if Ron Paul is not running, does not mean that we abandon the project to take over the Republican party.

Personally, I intend to vote for Johnson in the general election, if Paul is not running, and I intend to remain a registered Republican and to continue to support all efforts to take control of the GOP. I view a Johnson campaign later this year as a way to spread the message. If Johnson gets in the debates (possible with our support), he would indeed spread the message in a big way. That is a good thing, and I cannot think of any reason why a libertarian should oppose it.

Thank you.

I agree completely and have always put Ron Paul as the GOP nominee as my Plan A, leaving my party's nominee Gary Johnson as a Plan B.

Gary Johnson has a very similiar message as Ron Paul. Without Ron in the race his message is not being heard. Do you want it to be ignored? If you truly believe Romney has a similiar message go ahead and vote for him, but if you want the Libertarian message out there and not forgotten, please consider Gary. Even if he doesnt win, having him in the debates keeps Ron's message alive. Please sign my petition to get him in the debates.

Gary Johnson? Thats laughable

Romney not a chance.

Gary put this article on his official 2012 campaign website.

The Pragmatic Libertarian
http://www.thedaily.com/page/2011/04/28/042811-opinions-colu...

As we pleaded for the longest time what was done? He put it on his facebook page to boot complete with the word racist that was a hyperlink to this "newsletter expose" on Ron Paul. http://www.tnr.com/article/politics/angry-white-man

How soon you people forget.

And that was after Ron Paul endorsed Gary in 2011 before Ron entered the race. Gary has never apologized for this to my knowledge and I think it really hurt Ron that he would stoop that low to try to make himself appear a better candidate than Ron and providing links to the famed "racist newsletters" on his campaign website.

And that I surmise is why Jesse Benton stated unequivocally a few weeks ago that Ron will not endorse him.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

What about that article is

What about that article is incorrect? I don't think Ron Paul is a REAL racist, but he sure is racially ineloquent to be kind. He's also not a REAL libertarian! Anti-immigrant, anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-flag burning statist etc. I mean, seriously, what kind of small govenrment libertarian wants a flag-burning amendment?!?!?

And Gary Johnson isn't supposed to link to articles that are good for him?

Gary endorsed Ron Paul. Ron Paul took it, ran with it and tripped with it. Then refuses to give Gary the football so his supposed team can score.
