Jack Hunter Defended Rand Paul Today on The Jerry Doyle Show

Worth listening to. Don't know if I agree but here's what he had to say on the show. I think Jerry asked Jack some very good questions....

Sure
That is a real possibility. I don't deny that. But with risk comes the possibility of reward. We could, it is possible, we get a real fed audit. That is huge!!!
We have to understand that you, me, Rand, Ron, and everyone here hold the same principled goals. But how do you get from where we are today to our goals? Well I might believe one path is correct, Rand another, you another. We aren't always going to agree on each others tactics. But we should never doubt that what each of us do is for the betterment of the movement, the message and this country.
Rand is doing what he AN RON, think is in our best interest. I have never doubted them before, and think neither of us should now.
To robrigo80--trolling are we now?
Ron Paul has NOT commented about Rand Paul's appearance, so for you to assume that he is part of this endorsement is wrong.
You are either a troll, or you are very, very naive. Since when don't you doubt Rand Paul with his warmongering foreign RINO policy? We do not "have to understand" anything, especially if it makes NO SENSE to do so.
F you
Asshole I busted my ass for this campaign. Worked for him in New Hampshire. You must be some type of idiot to believe Ron had no say in this decision. The Paul family is so close that Ron was best man at Rand wedding. Now idiots like you believe Rand is stabbing Ron in the back? Seriously you cannot be that delusional.
Brutus was very close to Julius Caesar before he stabbed him,
Judas was close to Jesus. We do not know what is going on in the Paul family. We do know the issue: Romney is anti-Liberty and to "support", i.e., endorse Romney is to "support", i.e. endorse tyranny, and oppose the Liberty Movement. I deeply appreciate any hard work you, like so many others, did for this campaign, but that does not mean we go silent, if you make fundamental errors in Judgment. The campaign you "busted" your "ass" for is not yet over. The cause is Liberty, and Ron Paul remains our Presidential Candidate. With love of Liberty in Heart and Mind, and no "F you".
All (if any) you're going to
All (if any) you're going to get is lip-service from Mitt on liberty and no action. Just like Bush Jr. (remember speeches about no foreign wars and stuff in 2000?)
We're not going to get anything from this, you mark my words! Don't fool yourself!
Jack Hunter is sooooo wrong!
This idea that we have to go in and co-opt (if you will) the Republican Party is just flat out idiotic. Remember, the Republican Party is the MASTER of co-opting others, so it won't work the other way around.
But Jack Hunter (maybe inadvertently) said it, he compared our movement to the Barry Goldwater or Reagan movements and we all know how pathetically those ended.
We were supposed to take over with brute force and sheer numbers, no questions asked, no schmoozing in to the GOP. You'd be an idiot to think you can trick the Devil. Remember the GOP operatives will do anything, including murder you, to get what they want.
Even after I heard this interview I still think Rand made a GIGANTIC mistake. Even if it was a smart move, the Ron Paul supporters don't see it as such and that's all that matters, we will not forget that Rand endorsed Mittens. Remember, the Ron Paul supporters don't have the memory span of a peanut-brain monkey, like the rest of the TV-watching fluoride-head zombie citizens of the US and A.
Peace!
There is no defense for Rand...
"Playing politics" is what I hate about politicians. I do not believe that the end justifies the means. I also do not believe that there is a chance in hell that Rand will be Romney's VP choice. Rand is not a man with character and he have shown his true colors. He is not the man his father is.
How about when Ron Paul allied with a socialist..
Ralph Nader, last Presidential election?
I bet Rand wouldn't even do that.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I think your thinking is a bit flawed. The ends in many cases do justify the means.
RAND PAUL 2016.
The ends do not justify the means if Principle is compromised.
A Coalition is when two or more people can agree on a specific issue without compromising Principle. You point out a good example of a Coalition. Ron Paul could agree with Ralph Nader on the specific issue of auditing the FED without supporting Nader's anti-Liberty Socialist agenda. Another example would be: Ron Paul could agree with Dennis Kucinich on the specific issues of opposition to Preemptive Unconstitutional Wars as well as the FED without agreeing with Kucinich's anti-Liberty Keynesian Economics. Rand Paul on the other hand has compromised the Principle of Liberty by supporting a Pro-War, Goldman Sachs candidate for President. Rand Paul is a textbook example of Compromise of Principle and loss of Integrity. To confuse Coalition Building with Compromise of Principle is an example of flawed thinking.
Ron Paul formed a coalition with him to advance liberty
A coalition in promoting the most important issue, sound money. The coalition was formed to start auditing the Fed in order to expose their fraudulent ways.
Ron Paul did not endorse him, nor any of his socialist views. Ron Paul did not compromise at all, he simply found common ground.

RAND PAUL is a RINO in his foreign policy--
How can we compromise OUR values to support this RINO?
ANSWER: We can't, and we won't!
I'm afraid all Rand has done
I'm afraid all Rand has done is trade the powerful support of our movement in exchange for peanuts and candy. Heros for ghosts, hot ashes for trees, hot air for acool breeze, as pink floyd would put it. In his own mind, he may see it as "gaming the system" or "working from the inside." But that's a loosing strategy. Now that he has given away the support of movement's core, will he now gain the support of the neocons? Doubtful, as they can't trust him either. Maybe he really is Libertarian at heart. Why would the neocons risk it when they have reliable people, like Jeb Bush or really just about any republican (or democrat.)
I can see Rand offering tepid support to Romney just to keep the heat off. That would be a bare minimum endorsement like "I disagree with Romney on big issues like foreign policy, the Fed, etc., but he's better than Obama." But fulsome endorsements and offering to campaign for him? That's too much.
I still keep an open mind and if Rand's voting record is a good one, I may change my mind. But just because his last name is Paul doesn't mean much. Warren Buffet's dad was a congressman very much like Ron Paul. But his son is NWO to the max.

Wish you were Here, what a great album...as for Rand, I was kinda sketched out by him buddy-buddying up with Sean Hannity and "The Great One" I automatically am opposed to whoever the neocon, think-tank talk radio propaganda machine endorses. So i'm kinda struggling a bit with Rand here...hopefully there is a method to the madness, idk

Timing has been the problem
In all the recent events I truly have to question the timing? The timing has been very unproductive with every move. Did no one even consider timing with all these decisions and statements?
"You go and carry off the enemy's land; the enemy comes and carries off your land"-Ancient Sumerian tablet
Rand has done us a great service
Not only has he exposed himself, many others are now showing their true colors.
The brutal fact is that this country's various "movements"
(Liberty movement, Anti-war movement, Tea Party, Occupy, Fair Tax, etc) are little more than marketing campaigns, whose real purpose is to drain the energies/finances of decent people who desperately want to believe that there can be a
"political solution" to tyranny.
But when one is assaulting your home and abusing your family,
you won't end it abiding by the "rules" of the thug. And even if you could, they would just change the rules (as the RepubliCon establishment as done so many times this year).
Based on Jacks arguement
Rand Paul is seeking to game the GOP to bring about positive change by playing nice endorsing Rommney, and not coming off as "extremist" as his uncompromising father.
As sharp as Rand is, or think he is, he is naive to think that he can come off winning against the school GOP/DC good 'ol boys playing their game. I don't think Rand fully realizes what a dangerous risk he is taking. He is playing against hard-core pros who have no problem doing whatever it takes to win. The harder Rand fights them using their methods, the more likely he will go down the slippery slope of compromise.
I believe that's why Ron Paul was so uncompromising in his career in DC. He knew figuratively that if he wrestled with pigs trying to get them to behave as good conservatives should, he would only get dirty himself.
Rand thinks he is being clever, and believes he has the moral strength to hold fire to his chest and not be burned. But sad experience will soon disabuse him of his hubris, and he becomes like salt that loses its savor.

Truer words were never spoken!
Yep! I agree with your analysis 100%.
What is Hunter's "inside
What is Hunter's "inside information" that Rand is a secret Paulite? A more logical explanation is that Rand is an opportunist.
Useful Idiots
Use this travesty as a way to seperate the principled from the unprincipled people. Rand and Hunter just showed me that they are not to be trusted. Political expediency is not the same as standing on principle.
Ron Paul helped me see that Beck, Rush, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, and many more are really on the wrong side of most issues.
In Adam Kokesh's interview with Penny Freeman I realized that Ron Paul should not have endorsed his son knowing that Rand has statist ideas. The ideas of freedom cannot be compromised.

More rotten logic by Jack Hunter
What happened to this guy! I used to love watching his Southern Avenger videos here at Daily Paul, they were some of the best. These recent videos and interviews since the Romney endorsement are utter crap.
There is no nominee and won't be for nearly three months. Endorsing the eventual nominee, when there's only a single choice left, is not the same as endorsing a candidate while your father, and claimed #1 choice, is still a candidate in the race. Maybe Jack has not paid attention or doesn't want to hear the difference between a presumptuous nominee and an "eventual nominee."
Jack, you should know better than to use the mainstream media's own derogatory terms for Republicans that support liberty.
Supporting someone that disagrees with your principles may not be a direct compromise of principles, but it will indirectly result in your principles being compromised when that person assumes office. Further, it is certainly a compromise of integrity to your principles to support someone that that disagrees with your principles.
If you think a candidate is going to do the same things as the last guy once in office, then you don't endorse him and support him getting elected only to try to stand up to him afterwards -- you don't endorse and support him in the first place!
Supporting someone that violates your principles results in not only your principles being compromised, but your integrity to those principles lost.
Ron Paul's Convention Speech
To: Jerry, our friend---why didn't you call him on the carpet?
for some of his comments?? You forgot to mention the distinct fact that Rand is a Rino in his foreign policy, as he voted for sanctions against Iran.
Why do you think Hannity & other staunch Republican Rinos would vote for Rand in a presidential election? Because he has become a part of the military industrial complex, Jerry. And, this is one distinct reason I don't support Rand Paul and haven't for a long time, as soon as I saw him cozying up with the Rinos. Although he has done some good things, he does not reflect the beliefs of Ron Paul's supporters. It is ludicrous, and even bordorline childish to think that he can infiltrate & change the Rinos, IF he even thinks that. The Rinos will never audit the FED, will never end the wars, and will never end the banking bailouts of Wall Street banks. And, they are just using Rand to try and pacify the movement. That's all they're doing, Jerry, at least in my observation. We see Rand as a "sell out". End of story!
Hunter insults my intelligence! It's a matter of integrity and doing the honorable thing. For Rand Paul to even utter the words that his dad is his "first choice" is disingenous to the unth degree. Why? Because he was very inactive in campaigning for his dad, but he proclaims on nation-wide TV of all places on Sean Hannity's program that he will "campaign for Mitt Romney"?
RAND PAUL, I'm sorry to say, is lacking in character, and may even have an ego problem in a competitive way with his dad. This is truly a betrayal...he didn't have to do this. Nobody forced him to do it. He could have stayed in the background and let other Senators endorse, but no, he chooses to take advantage of the limelight to further his own personal goals.
Your "too soon" comment was right on. Nothing new there, he said? Hunter tried to pull the wool over our eyes by suggesting that Rand is no different than Ron? Give me a break. FOREIGN WAR-MONGERING IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE---and it's been enough to turn all Ron Paul supporters off of Rand Paul.
It will be a cold day in hell before Rand or Romney get my vote. After the blood, sweat, money, time & tears my husband & I have donated, the buck stops here. We represent a powerful Fortune 500 baby boomer force, and we will not stop talking our views of this powerfully, corrupt & sick 2 party system. We have many friends we have already changed in their views.
One thing I forgot to say to you---your comment of "I'd have walked out on him (Hannity)".....was FANTASTIC!! THANK YOU!
Thanks for posting this
It's good to have some sanity represented here in a sea of wild speculation from (mostly) arm chair experts. Folks, use your healthy libertarian skepticism when listening to people casting blame and naming names--painting a picture of vast conspiracy. Not everything is a sinister conspiracy.

Can't listen to Jack
I just can't listen to Jack Hunter go on his one man dialogues where he just rants...blah, blah, blah.
It's just too irritating to my ears.
He never really says anything of great substance and I can't get over the fact that Rand would sink the Liberty movement like he did when he endorsed Mitt Romney.
Doesn't Mitt Romney support "strengthening" the Patriot Act, something that Dr. Paul has campaigned against.
Didn't Rand Paul get harassed by the TSA goons at the Nashville airport a few months back.
Mitt Romney also supports NDAA...How can Rand support Mittens for President? Rand is the ultimate "flip flopper" and surely will be held accountable for doing this.
But, I suppose Rand is thinking there's more voters "outside" the Liberty movement than there are "inside" the Liberty campaign.
A hundred years ago those seeking LIBERTY on the Titanic were left hopeless when they hit an iceburg. Rand Paul has taken a lot of wind out of the Liberty movement and stabbed his father in the back at the same time. He surely has made the neocons happy.
I completley agree but...
But we can only hope that all he is doing is trying to get the establishment media and supporters to not see him as "fringe" "unelectable" blah blah blah all the bad stuff the say his dad...
Ron's doing his job promoting the message educating lets hope Rand's just trying to say "look we're just like you guys"...
Lets hope he's soft on the establishment but not a soft supporter of liberty all we can do is wait and see keep supporting liberty hard as a movement. Rand cannot weaken us only we can by allowing ourself s to become demoralized and fractured.
Hope?
Ha! I guess that's all we have left now because Rand blew it all away!
"Fringe" candidate?? Anyone who doesn't support 100% of their agenda is a fringe candidate to the criminals who run the GOP. So regardless of whether Rand endorses Mitt or not he'll always be a fringe candidate! Don't lie to yourself!
He's paid by the campaign to smooth things over
with us Liberty minded folks, but we are smarter and know what's going on.
grrreat interview!!
grrreat interview!!
Conventions are going on
And here's yet another thread about what Rand said for a couple minutes on the idiot box. The same day Ron Paul gave an epic speech to the Texas convention. He hasn't quit and he's not looking to compromise. We have other states going on this weekend too Illinois, Indiana? Enough with the distractions already. Lets focus our hearts and minds on getting Ron Paul in the white house and Liberty people in every slot of the GOP we can on the way to Tampa. And here's Ron Paul rocking the Texas convention to re-inspire you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BS7AFqukV0&feature=youtu.be
People are really showing
People are really showing their true colors the past 24hrs. Let us not forget that Jack works with the campaign, prob on the payroll at some level. I enjoyed Adam K. , and Alex Jones telling it like it is! I'd also love to get Tom Woods, maybe even Peter Schiffs' take on the sad news.
