I think Ron Paul will be Vice PresidentSubmitted by EGhost57 on Sat, 06/09/2012 - 15:11
A deal has been made.
Everyone knows some sort of deal has been made between Romney and Rand Paul. We all theorize but no one knows for sure. The motives of Rand have been questioned, but look who raised him. He isn't in politics for a career or because his family worships power. It seems obvious to me that he is doing what he thinks needs to be done to restore liberty just like his dad taught him. Moving on.
What was the deal?
As we all know, a deal to make Rand VP wouldn't hardly move any Ron Paul supporter to vote for the ticket; however, a Ron Paul as VP ticket would make many of us question our loyalty to Ron Paul and his strategy for advancing the cause of liberty, leading many of us to vote for the ticket(I'm still not sure what I'd do, but I suppose that's why the strategy could work).
Ron as VP would demonstrate, to me anyway, that Romney has made concessions to Paul's platform, that's the only way I could see RP going for it. None of us would believe a Ron Paul endorsement of Romney which is why Rand had to do it. Listen to Rand's endorsement again. The endorsement was entirely about their fathers. This shows to me that Rand's endorsement has come solely at the expense of Romney making concessions to Ron Paul. I see no other reason Rand would seemingly abandon the movement that he specifically mentions in his endorsement.
No other position offered to Ron could be announced before the election except VP, and only an announcement before then could have any effect for the Romney camp.
So... Ron Paul is Romney's VP pick.
I guess if it is going to be statist Obama or statist Romney, I'd rather get a little more Ron Paul and liberty movement exposure at the same time.
