Treason Within RP Headquaters?

There are people in HQ who make decisions that I don't agree with sometimes. There are people in HQ who may not be as seasoned as some people would like. But guess what?! We aren't perfect either!

I would sooner ask the pitchfork brigade that chased down Hannity to leave their respective meetup groups. THAT is something we have control over. And they are far more dangerous to the campaign than any of your imagined ramblings about spys.

Ron Paul has the ultimate base. None of us are going anywhere, ever! Demoralizing doesn't work on us because we chose our candidate based purely on LOGIC and not emotion! Because of that, we stand firm with him through the best and worst of times. Though some of us may in fight at times, that does not make us any less resolved to see Ron Paul elected, And see him elected we will.

That wasn't treason. It was incompetence.

I sent the national campaign a message today, telling them that I am henceforth NOT donating to them again. After the FIASCO of New Hampshire, anything more that I might contribute would just be flushed down the toilet, as it appears that they are utterly incompetent at running even a statewide campaign effectively. The pathetic TV ads, the endlessly repeated radio spots that never changed, and the apparent apathy and mismanagement of very basic things such as media outreach force me to conclude that Ron Paul's campaign, if not being sabotaged, might as well have been. I'm tired of continually giving them the benefit of the doubt, and staring through rose-colored glasses, only to see embarrassing failures as the result.

The grassroots of this campaign have been fantastic, but without proper and effective national coordination and leadership, it is all for nothing.

During Iowa I tried to send some good advice to the campaign HQ and they referred me to the Iowa phone line. I gave my advice to the Iowa staff and then checked to see if press releases were being sent to IowaPolitics.com (which was my suggestion) and I never saw any RP press there the days before the election when I checked!

Ya think the other candidates sent PR to that site the days & weeks leading up to the elcection? You betcha all the other campaigns had just about a daily press release. Ya think the national press corpse would look at a site like that? Sure thing.

At least my email to that site about the students giving up their vacation to volunteer for RP seemed to get a nice little article written by the staff of that site who did follow up on the story lead. The point is - someone had to contact that site and give them the IDEA. Someone inside the campaign needs to "work" these media relationships and send press releases.

Hire some PR people who have 'connections'. I gave about $800 to Ron Paul and I would have given more if this was a cleaner, slicker campaign. I'm sorry I don't mean to be so negative but I need to hear my own frustration and learn something positive from it.

Here's an idea - Why don't some of the programmers out there set up a site where the free hand of the marketplace manages the political campaign of Ron Paul Republicans?
Ultimately - any one of us can send press releases however no media outlet wants a flood of the same thing from dozens of different supporters - so such a site would allow an otherwise unorganized mass of volunteers to effectively RUN THE CAMPAIGN & PR for a Ron Paul Republican without one or two key decision-makers on salary getting in the way or saying "that's taken care of".
Here's how that would work... the site is set up like this site with users and topics EXCEPT it would all be related to campaigns. People can then create task-lists of all the things that they "think" need to be done to run an effective campaign, such as: add media contact emails & fax numbers. Someone running for office can review profiles of people who add this information and wish to volunteer ( so in local races they can find local talent and volunteers who are local). A system is put in place to 'flag' spies. A confirmation (anti-flag) double-confirms the accuracy of information which is submitted (such as media contacts, event listings, other advice or information etc) like a rating system, so the higher the confirmation rate the more trustworthy the information.
The candidate could login and announce running for office, what he/she thinks is needed, hear and approve/deny ideas which are proposed, and for those 'task projects' the candidate approves then specific tasks can be opened up for volunteers. In a national campaign the candidate could also have no relation to the activities so no one but the members themselves would need to 'approve' actions taken to promote the candidate but the site would help prevent over-zealous volunteers from stepping all over each other.
This is getting fuzzy here so I'll stop and hope its been a positive spark.!?

Ron Paul for Peace!

Maybe someone issued it with central time zone and sent it to the east coast for the press and being a hour ahead, he would naturally be late for the speach.

Just my thought.

With everything going on that is positive, it may be disruptive to start an investigation on whether or not there is a mole in the Ron Paul camp. I would ask all those concerned not to even respond to this headline. Did anyone see Dr. Paul on Jay Leno. He was fantastic!
