Unite or die! Romney, Obama, Johnson or Write-in Paul? Which helps our movement most?

We must unite or our movement will lose all its momentum and power.

Assuming Paul's calculations are accurate, that he will get no more than 500 delegates, we must assume Romney will be the GOP nominee.

So, then what? Our choices are:

1) Vote for Romney
2) Vote for Obama

3) Vote for Johnson
...a) Demonstrates this is a liberty movement, not a Ron Paul cult.
...b) Votes are counted.
...c) If Johnson gets 15% in the polls he can be in the debates.
...d) If he gets 5% (?) of the vote, the LP gets federal funding like the Demopublicans.
...e) A significant number of votes demonstrates the liberty movement is powerful and not just about Ron Paul.
4) Write-in Ron Paul
...a) Nothing feels as good as voting for the man.
5) Abstain from voting

Whatever we decide to do, if we all do the same thing it will have more impact.

So what should we do (13-5?), and why does that choice help our movement the most?

Without committing to any of

Without committing to any of them (because I haven't decided yet), I can at least say that a massive number of Ron Paul write ins sends a clear message, and a countable one at that, of how well the GOP could have done.

Gary Johnson

out of the non marked choices to show its a movement of principles not of one man.

I think that's a good reason

I'll add it up there.

Any reasons to vote for the others?

Most compelling argument for #4?

In case you missed it on the front page.

We will not quit

That's very compelling and moving.

But it does not address the practical reality that write-in votes, no matter how many, will be ignored and will have no impact, while a significant number of votes for a pro-liberty candidate will help us propel forward.

"Know what you know, know what you don't know, and understand and appreciate the distinction."

Abstain from Voting?

That would be like deserting during combat. How many liberty candidates running at the local, state or congressional level would you be abandoning in your desire to go home to mourn?

there needs to be (at least) a #6 option...

Because one could decline to vote for anyone in the presidential
race but still vote for other candidates *or* not vote at all - which
is two options, not one.

I've never been an advocate of not voting, but I did hear Gerald
Celente make at some kind of case for it on Alex Jones the other
day. Basically, Celente said that if the number of people voting
is low enough then it basically indicates there is no legitimacy
conveyed by winning. Not sure I'm convinced.

If it's not Ron as nominee then I plan to go with Johnson...

Metamucil helps my movement most.

what good is uniting around the wrong ideas?

How about we unite around Ron Paul, the Constitution & liberty? the 8 states that don't count write ins aren't a treasure chest of electoral votes Nevada South Dakota, New Mexico, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi account for 45 out of the 538 electoral votes. Besides if you just stick to it we will nit have to worry about writing in the GOP nominee Dr Ron Paul

We can't unite around voting for someone not on the ballot!

We need to focus on getting delegates, of course, but we also need to unite around a pro-liberty candidate for the November election.

GJ is not perfect, but he represents the pro-liberty position, and the more support he gets, the more power and strength our movement will achieve.

We have to support Gary Johnson in November!

There is no way in hell

I'd EVER vote for either of the Obamney twins.

Is this another data mining exercise?

Ron Paul all the way. There's a blank line on the ballot, just in case.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

That would be really stupid.

thinking that a vote for

thinking that a vote for obama is going to help our "movement" is really stupid.

Who thinks that it would?

Let's first decide what NOT to do!

Not vote for Romney
Not vote for Obama

To vote for either is a vote for insanity, IMO.

The rest is totally up to the individual.

Romney, Obama are Political Twins!

There will be 4 write-in votes for Ron Paul...

cast by members of our family. Just like in 08'.

I will vote for the

I will vote for the constitution party candidate. Just like I did back in 08.

I will vote for Mitt Romney

I'm voting for Mitt Romney and trying to encourage every one I know to vote for him. I want Obama out. I don't care what it takes. I don't care if I had to vote for Boy George to get Obama out.

Why? What is the difference between Romney and Obama?

I didn't realize that they're were any differences?
Why not write-in Ron Paul?

stupid is as stupid does and

stupid is as stupid does and you have just shown how stupid you are...

Since Ron Paul has quit the race...

Ron Paul sure didn't. But enjoy voting for your CFR option #3

...don't vote Romney or Obama.

Either vote for a libertarian 3rd party candidate, write-in Paul, or don't vote. It doesn't much matter, I personally will vote Johnson.

The important thing is that you keep doing whatever you can to help advance the cause within the Republican party. The campaign for President is not the only campaign that matters, we have party positions, Congressional seats, and local/state offices to win!

It doesn't much matter?

It doesn't much matter

Really? You don't think it matters much if Johnson gets the typical LP 0.5% rather than the 5% or 10% or more that's possible if we all unite behind him?

I think it matters a lot, to the likelihood that this country will ever return to one where liberty is the highest priority.

What percentage of the vote gets LP federal booty?
