Religious Freedom...Goodbye

In the past, this kind of news would be noticed on the DP. However, the order of the day seems to be compromise in the name of liberty.

My only interpretation can be that religious freedom is no longer a right...here or elsewhere. Perhaps, someday we will see that our rights were not taken from us...we gave them away. Guess you can't stir up dissent in the name of religion (stirred up by those who have none)if you consider religious freedom a right. First you *disappear* a right...then you say that *right* is a *wrong*.

Guess religious freedom was just one of those lofty, idealistic mass control and political mechanisms that we have all outgrown. Thank God, personal faith can't really be taken away. Someday, we Christians in the US (and Muslims et al.) may be forced to secretly meet in small groups behind closed doors like so many in other countries have done.

At least, if need be, I will do so.

My interpretation

He's protecting himself against the accusation that his bombing and assassinating Muslims is a human rights violation. Sure, Christians suffer, too, but what about all of those Muslims he had killed, for the "crime" of only apparently being an extreme religionist? Or, worse, happening to be near where someone hoped one would be.

I copied the link and repasted it and was able to read it. As a Catholic, I am very concerned with what is happening in America in reguards to religion. http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/column.php?n=2208

The separtists

Were pointed to by many of our founding fathers as the seed from which they had grown..

These pilgrims came from persecution to no where on borrowed money on a rickety boat. The power elite would say they had nothing! I would say that as we plumb the depth of what they discovered and embrace that voice deep within we can alter the course of history....and have a blast doing it!

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr.

America now is....

...that same hypocritical church/state that the parent government our founders found it necessary to throw off ... and without knowledge of that PURE faith they had, it's gonna get far worse before it gets better...

These guys who laid this trap for our nation perhaps a century ago KNEW that dissent/opposition would come from the Church - so they co-opted, corrupted, compromised, and NOW control it through the IRS 501c3 game ... This nation needs courageous learned Christians to lead this nation's restoration unto God-given, Constitutionally-protected liberty and prosperity undiminished once again ... and Ron Paul has so far been that man.

Only two of the Pilgrims

Were educated, William Brewster & William Bradford (from my understanding). Learned won't do it. Unlearned might help. The information, the direction to break this thing wide open is as close as your own deep heart but that is not that easy to reach. We have been programmed to keep our hearts behind steel doors. Natural law, God's law..the law of the heart lies behind those doors....

And it is a powerful force ...so powerful that today as in England, way back when...they killed those who accessed that power!

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr.

not sure what you mean.
This is the first year since the so-called Arab Spring that the State Department has failed to include a religious freedom section. Protecting the Islamist revolution seems to be a policy objective of the Obama Administration – and if thousands of Christians get slaughtered, so be it.

seems like more neocon propaganda against obushma and add in a slice of Christians slaughtered to keep the right wing's blood lust going.

Just saw your post on Move to O'Bama and the above post becomes clear.
I don't operate that way. Use any thread you wish to try to spread your Vote for O'Bama message as this one is off the radar now. You will have little success.

What is really interesting to me is that a few like you seem to delight in taking a thought...a discussion...and seeing a place to sow a discord seed through chaos, ie distorting the thread issue and then using the distortion to insert a message. Personifies to me everything that is wrong with the world and especially as reported by the media.

Go ahead and vote for O'Bama. Votes aren't counted anyway.

Anonymous...Not Sure What YOU Mean

Both parties have shown no respect for the religious rights of people anywhere. They follow their own god...the moneychangers.

The Islamic revolution was a ploy for regime change. I have close friends in Syria. Assad may not have been perfect, but the religions lived in peace. Christians felt safe there as did the Muslim sects. He may have been extremely harsh in a manner I don't agree with to some of the more radical Muslim sects who have ages of fighting each other. However there was peace and their way of life was improving as was the lives of the people in Libya.

I believe in Ron Paul's policy of non interventionism in the Middle East. The Repubs and the Dems are together (the majority in both parties) in their quest to stir things up for special interests. CIA and Mossad are complicit.

But, my real point was that I would like to be from a country that believes in religious freedom for all and I thought it was sad that this was left out for the first time in years. It only marginally has anything to do with the Arab Spring as civilians are being killed regardless of religion.

I *think* we are on the same page, but perhaps I was not clear.

The Church is just like Gov't

There's a Board of Executives

A CEO (the minister) or President

They are exempt from Taxation

The Ministers are supported by the Church
---In most cases have fat retirements

The "belief" is that if you "go-along" (with the Church) you will have security (spiritually speaking).

The Church's Head is usually "ordained by god" and all his/her priests or ministers had a "calling" (from God).

The Church "annointed" the King or Queen
---get involved with politics

I mean the list goes on and on.

In a free-market the individual is sovereign
----Not the Church or Organization

Under Monarchy, under Capitalism (1776-1912), and under Corporatism (1913-Present) the Church has been the final authority on God's Will; each one claiming their path is the righteous one and according to each if you are not righteous you go to Hell or Pergatory (save the Jews who just believe you're life will suck).

Church was Final Authority

The Wealthy are Final Authority on Monetary Policy

I see no difference really.

You can't be an individualist over here and a collectivst over there; you either believe you are sovereign over your life or you "go along" (for safety and assurance sake).

The Church - as in the actual

The Church - as in the actual one, has Jesus Christ as the head, and has none of those characteristics.

Revelation 21
21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

It comes from heaven, and is not made by men - it is a pure bride.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Christ cannot be the "head" of one organization if he's

simultaneously one-with everything in creation.

I'm not the CEO of my Liver and in competition with the CEO of my Kidneys!!!

So, Christ is NOT the CEO of one particular organization.

If he is -- then tell me which one?

Catholicism -- sorry he'd have to compete with Pedophiles who misunderstood what Jesus meant when he said to approach god "child-like"

Reformation -- Okay -- which one???

Is Christ in favor of Unlimited Atonement or Limited Atonement?

It's ALL absurd -- it's an argument of perpetuity and absolutism.

I'm not religious at all

but there's no doubt in my mind that the idea is to water down religions so that even an atheist wouldn't object to most of their beliefs.

They want to make a religion based on the common tenets of all religions but taking out any 'radical' stuff.

True colors showing:

Protecting the Islamist revolution seems to be a policy objective of the Obama Administration – and if thousands of Christians get slaughtered, so be it.

Obama’s State Department has made protecting “gay rights” around the world as a key foreign policy objective...

No one can take away what is in your heart...no one.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

When you understand that

religion is just the train that can take you to the ultimate destination of spirituality, which no one can take away - you no longer fear these tactics.

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this any more!"
- Howard Beale

Yes...And Some of Us

... having secured understanding of our own personal destiny... want that freedom to choose to be there as an option for future generations.

I do not fear...but I feel great sorrow. To me, it is a lot more than a train as is the quest for liberty for all. Not a train...a right.

Why are good people divided by politics and religion?

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this any more!"
- Howard Beale

Good People Are Never Divided

...by religion if they understand it as Ron Paul does. A right for all people to worship whatever they wish (or not at all). I may not understand everything Dr. Paul believes; however, I know he believes in freedom of religion and so do I.

Otherwise...down the road many may be forced to worship outwardly whatever *Great Leader* we have.

Politics uses religion to divide...with lies...and for power and money.
Power hungry false heads of many religions use it the same.

The Human Rights Report has

The Human Rights Report has nothing to do with our Constitution which is the law of the land. We do not go by international law here in America. No one can take your rights. Like the color of your eyes they are yours because you were born with them.

Rights Voted Away

I used to think that, but with the Patriot Act, NDAA et al, it seems our 4th & 6th amendment rights are being voted away by our own congress...

You can't vote a right away.

You can't vote a right away. Only privileges can be voted away. Your rights are given to you at birth by your Creator. You can relinquish them yourself by accepting the tyrannical decisions of our idiot Congress people, or you can assert them. Its your choice. Saying your rights are voted away is like allowing them to vote to amputate your right arm, and then letting them do just that.

Blessings )o(

What country do you live in?

I understand your point, but our very own congress is no longer securing those rights http://www.gemworld.com/USA-Unalienable.htm

Under the Patriot Act I can no longer fly without the potential of being molested. So, I don’t fly. I would say that hampers my pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. That law was passed before I even knew my rights were being violated. How about you, are you able to fly unmolested? Did you get a secret pass that I don’t know about. That act has been going on about 10 years now? We just gave it up and here we sit? I could try to board a plan unchecked...

As a Christian, under religious persecution, I can recant Christ or be killed. I have a choice between 2 rights: the right to live, the right to confess Christ. I will choose the right to confess Christ and I will forfeit my right to live. Can you explain how I can maintain both of those rights by choice?

If I am missing something I look forward to being educated! That is always my goal. Thanks!

I am in America too. I won't

I am in America too. I won't fly because I choose not to give up my right to be free from illegal search and seizure. If enough of us do this, then the airlines themselves will be screaming for a change to those laws. I won't even shop in WalMart anymore because they are in cahoots with the DHS. There are certain roads I won't drive because of cameras on the corners. Wherever there is state aggression, I avoid it by choosing not to comply with those mandates. I keep my business local, my money stays at home not a bank etc. Quiet commercial peaceful non-compliance en masse will do more in this country than all the screaming and yelling we could ever do as individuals.

Beyond that, participating in local politics is the answer to maintaining our rights. Those are the people who will rise to the top and eventually end up in DC. Making our voices heard in our own towns, educating our neighbors etc is how we will be able to restore the legalization of our rights. And, like you, I will die before I allow them to take my religion. But then, there are many rights I'd die for before I'd give them up.

Limited Rights

The way I am seeing this is that you have limited your right to liberty and pursuit of happiness because your rights have been infringed.

Tell me about Walmart & DHS. I still shop there...

WalMart sends all of their

WalMart sends all of their security tapes through facial recognition software for DHS. They send all of their information, receipts etc, through the DHS computers. Also, they have a contract with FEMA to be the authorized food provider should the SHTF. Basically, they have jumped on board the Govt train wreck.

Although I have an issue with them selling products made in China, I used to shop there occasionally. Now, I go out of my way to buy locally or order products online if needed rather than give them my business.

And I wouldn't say I have limited rights. I have a right to choose where to put my money, so I won't fly because they've also allowed the Govt to intrude in their business. Same with the banks etc. Its always up to us to choose our associations, thus the first amendment. A private business can do whatever it likes, but as an individual I can choose not to patronize that business. Peaceful, non-compliance and putting your money where you ideals lie is the answer.

I've got a very encrypted computer, so avoid most of the online spying from the Govt. I won't tether accounts, my cell phone does not connect to the internet etc. I won't consent to my medical records being kept electronically either. There are ways to avoid the oppression and assert your rights. It is getting more and more difficult, granted, but it can be done.

Ties that Bind?

Have you figured out how to abdicate a SSN, Taxes and Fed Reserve Notes? I am coming to see those as binds that tie us to that encroachment. I believe perhaps that those are the items used to pay for the continual demise of Liberty.

How do you get an encrypted computer?

Power Reduction

Making people avoid travel is the same thing in principle as blowing up bridges. The people in power can't remain in power if their victims gain too much power so the obvious solution is to destroy powerful things used by the victims.

Having slept on your comment, I can see that

A) The choice not to fly is actually falling into the trap laid thus destroying power

B) The choice to submit to TSA destroys natural freedom to be secure in ones person.

Either choice destroys freedom. It seems this is a chess game. Is there a 3rd liberating option?

Thanks Bear

...for that post. I do not believe you are missing anything.

Still Learning

I am still learning so I often get things wrong so I am always open to education. I appreciate your input.
