Peter Schiff Speaks With Rand Paul About Romney Endorsement

I think Rand does a great job explaining why he chose to endorse Romney and I support his decision. But I want to hear from you. Vote up or down or comment on how you feel about his explanation.

Party Politics

Rand, we don't want "Party" politics. We're sick to death of parties, we've got a hangover from parties and are vomiting naked in the corner. Why endorse Romney at all? Why not endorse your father? Endorsing Romney is like endorsing the wind. How about sending a clear message to the world that he will not approve of someone like Romney? Either that or just keep quiet? He has respect for John McCain? We've all been tortured by John McCain for more than 7 years.

As the original Rand, Ayn Rand said: "There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil."

Rand explaind that...

...he made a pledge to support the nominee, long ago, and now he is living up to that pledge. It's the hallmark of a man with integrity. Also, remember at that time, his father still could have been the nominee.

Not going back on his word and then endorsing someone who always goes back on his word? Romney did not even win yet, the delegates are not decided. He could have held out longer. What was the pressing issue that he had to endorse Romney at that point in time? It makes no sense. He could have said, "You know, I know I pledged to support the nominee, but being that it is Mitt Romney, and what he stands for, I just cannot, in good conscience, endorse Romney at this time." I don't want a person that just blindy endorses based on party... that is why the country is a mess!

The main problem I have with Rand is that he did it on HANNITY!

Hannity is a Ron Paul-hater from way back.

We owe that liar NOTHING.

So THAT is my biggest problem with how Rand made that announcement.

To give Hannity and the establishment republicans the SATISFACTION of hearing Rand submit and endorse THEIR boy on such a NEO-CON'S show is reprehensible to me.

I STILL don't understand (or forgive) that move.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

He did it on Hannity for the same reason

He did it on Hannity for the same reason RP kept down-playing his success all along... the longer the Establishment feels that they aren't threatened, the better it is for our movement. They will ignore us, and their neglect becomes our ally.

This is a great interview - I learned a lot listening to this.

Rand is very articulate and well-spoken, and I feel more hopeful from having heard this.

I STILL support RAND

I still support Rand and I still believe that the work must be done WITHIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. This is no time to be maryters. If Rand is to be re elected he pledged an oath to support GOP Candidates. I would much rather have a Paul inside than no Paul at all. Come ON PEOPLE. You should have known that this was going to be an up hill battle. We fought the good fight. G Edward Griffin says "Why fight city hall when you can BE city hall." We must play the game so we can continue to grow within the party. I can't believe that Liberty people are threatening Rand Paul's life. GOod GRIEF.

RE: I STILL support RAND

Well, go ahead and support him, then. I understand how you feel when you say "Why fight City Hall?" I admire your self-complacency and temporizing attitude. That is how you fit in, which always makes things nice. Not too good for your self-esteem, perhaps, but safe. Those of us living in the real world of practical politics, however, will keep struggling for the original principles of the Ron Paul movement.

you are holding your nose again?

Rands not winning me over..

Besides the endorsement statement, his "Campaigning for Romney" was the biggest blow in his statement on Hannity, and the fact that Rand stopped campaigning for his dad after Iowa... We could of used him in some of the other 49 states. Even Rons oldest son/Rands older brother, Ronnie, campaigned for his dad in Hawaii. Rand did not help us fight in this election except of Iowa. Sad, but true.

I have less respect for Rand

I have less respect for Rand that he endorsed Romney just to play the game and also bc he promised he'd support the party when he ran for senate. But at the end of the day, who gives a crap. He's just another politician. Lew Rockwell said it best, don't put any faith whatsoever in politicians. Start with yourself and your day to day interactions. This may not be the last time I vote, but this is the last time I'm going to be actively involved with a politician. I just don't care what Rand Paul thinks or does, i'll never vote for the guy. And really, it does not bother me. Politics is sickening, and I want a long break from it all. Best to everyone and their futures.

I could not have said it better.

After 30 years watching this country's decline I thought finally a true cause worth fighting for... But it's back to playing politics as usual for some. I have only two words for Rand "Think Different" - Steve Jobs RIP. You may not need to "Get along" to be successful in moving the agenda forward. Dr Paul did an excellent job spreading the message of liberty being outside the mainstream. United we stand.

Rand should have endorsed on the Peter Schiff show or the like

that would have been a WHOLE DIFFERENT story! doing it on hannity and hannity's presentation of the whole thing is what made it so bloody dirty!

I'm hating that

two line, call screening gate keeper more and more all the time.

Rand Paul/ Justin Amash 2016!

Rand Paul/ Justin Amash 2016!

"The economy's not a class you can master in college. To think otherwise is the pretense of knowledge."

RE: Rand Paul/Justin Amash 2016

Now, that's a truly depressing prospect. I'd rather support Obama if it came to that.

will not

get my vote. Sorry Rand is compromised.

Enjoy reading about libertarianism because with your mind set we'll never see it in our country.

NOTE: I am not advocating violence in any way. The content of the post is for intellectual, theoretical, and philosophical discussion. FEDS, please don't come to my house.

You are right on the money

RE: Perspective

Yeah! See, the way to promote libertarianism is to sell it out! Get it? It's quite sophisticated, actually.

We have a very strong Movement.

We will never see libertarianism if we stay in the old paradigm. Rand Paul would return us to the old paradigm. He has gone up a blind alley that we already know does not work. The Establishment recognizes "they" have a problem with conscious people who Love Liberty. The Establishment managed to pull off a counter move by co-opting Rand, but they don't co-opt us. Liberty is Truth and Truth doesn't die. People are coming out of the Trance.

That would be so awesome

That would be such a winning ticket.

It's a winner!

Faint Hearted

@ss Monkey!

Notice how Rand just endorses Romney.. He never has once talked about us voting for him.. I still support Rand.. this is Chess not Checkers...

"The economy's not a class you can master in college. To think otherwise is the pretense of knowledge."

Neocons are everywhere

Anyone still supporting the Paul family is taking allegiance now to The Neocon.

Mine as well support all the other Fascists like Santorim, Newt, McCain, etc......
I guess surrounding oneself with so much evil in the GOP it's no wonder how the Paul family can become tainted.

RE: Neocons are everywhere

Well said.

Nice try.

It appears you joined the site for the sole purpose of writing negative comments about Rand, and to tear down the Paul family... judging by your comments and the fact that you've only been a member for 2 weeks. Nice try, but take your venom somewhere else.

I totally disagree. You need

I totally disagree. You need an ally in US politics and you need to educate most of ppl in the congress in this is sadly the only way to go. Rand has always said that his 1st pick is his father but with a 2 party system you don't have much of a choice do you. I know the Paul family and us has pushed the liberty movement as far as they could and we are winning no doubt about it. It's Rand personal choice as far as I'm concerned and though he is not obligated to endorse anybody but I guess the old GOP is desperate for someone on their side. I'm sure Rand is wise enough to put first the liberty movement agenda above anything else. The GOP needs someone like Rand to spread ideas in the aging GOP and renew the republican party who has lost it's ways. Ron Paul and his millions of supporters all over the nation and the world will just be alright. Ron Paul still in 2012 or nothing.

"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty."
