I think Rand does a great job explaining why he chose to endorse Romney and I support his decision. But I want to hear from you. Vote up or down or comment on how you feel about his explanation.

It didn't do much for his self-esteem, but it did enable him to fit in and be safe, and probably will help him keep his Senate seat in order to continue feeding at the public trough.
Rand Paul is a good man
I like him. Is he perfect ? No ! Who is ? He will make a difference. I see him starting a lot of changes. I say don't be so hard on him. The forces against him are large. He is doing a courageous job. He has a thankless job. I say honor him and you will see more from him than all this negative talk.

Republic Man, well said! Those are my thoughts exactly. I think most people here didn't even listen to the full interview. If people actually turned their minds on for a second and actually listened to what Rand had to say in this interview, they would probably agree with Rand. I thank Peter for providing us with this interview, so those of us who are actually willing to look at the situation with an open mind can hear Rand's words himself and see what is really going on.

Romney is NOT better than Obama
It will be worse if Romney gets elected b/c then it will be easier to blame Republicans for this mess. It will be better if Obama wins a 2nd term and the problems get worse. The politically ignorant masses will just vote Republican at that point since they will likely associate the economic collapse with Democrats and hope the other side will have a solution that works.
Then maybe Justin Amash, Tom Woods, Napolintano or Schiff will run for president in 2016 and we can get a principled liberty leader in the white house.
Im 34 and have only voted in two primaries\generals (2008\2012) and that was for Ron Paul. Without Ron as the nominee I will either write in Ron Paul, vote for Obama or just stay home. But I am absolutely positive that I will not vote for Romney.
Rand has thrown out so many excuses these last few days but the truth is that he compromised when all the momentum and focus is on heralding these important issues and holding the line no matter how futile it may seem. Rand can say his dad endorsed Newt or Boehner all he wants but when it really mattered Ron did not endorse George W Bush or McCain.

Those of us who have been around for quite some time understand how hard it is to get libertarians like Rand in the Senate. Yet these conspiratorial clowns are doing what they usually do-destroying the progress made these past 4 years.

Flawed Perception
His entire stance is completely philosophically broken. He is still trying to play the Democrat/Republican game. It's like trying to save a terminally ill patient that has 1 day to live. They will change him before he changes them. It's like a recovering alcoholic going to a bar and trying to get everyone else to stop drinking. That alcoholic is much more likely to start drinking again before he gets the whole bar to stop drinking. The two party system is deeply flawed. If Rand really wants to make a difference he should spearhead a movement to make the libertarian party a major national party on the same level of the dems and repubs. He could carry on his fathers message and have the entire liberty movement (which is growing EXPONENTIALLY) behind him. Freedom is popular. Big government is not. I am afraid that he is going to find himself on the losing side of this war. Time will tell but if I were a betting man I would bet against Rand at this point. The revolution is coming.

I sent Rand what
I can only fairly describe as an insulting email after the endorsement. I now intend to send him an apology email. His work in the Senate is top notch. If we stop supporting every liberty lover in govt because of one false move, ESPECIALLY when that move is an earnest effort to advance the cause of liberty, then we WILL fail. I don't agree with Rands timing, but perhaps he decided that the timing would add more weight to his endorsement and therefore more credibility to his future actions (as relates to the non liberty repubs). We are still to small a contingent in federal govt to expect liberty reps to fight all of our battles. We have to be the ones to take responsibility until such at time as we have a majority that can make sure the local fights (corrupt state parties) don't even happen.

And Romney has made it clear that PEOPLE WILL DIE under his administration. Your dad might support Romney too, but he cares too much for our troops...and he understands that poor foreign policy will destroy this country faster than anything else.
If you are going to play the game to this extent(working to get Romney or even Obama elected), then you can't expect my support.I'm not crazy Rand. I am very compassionate to Rand. But he misses the point. We love and follow Ron BECAUSE he HAS NOT compromised!
This isn't like his dad endorsing Newt. He wasn't running against Newt at the time. Rand endorsing Romney at this point goes directly against his Ron. It is DIFFERENT.
