Jesus is the one we need! (please Dr. Paul, lead...)

I know some of you will chop me into pieces for this post but I truly believe that Ron Paul needs to talk more about his personal faith and what brought him to his insights. Give honour to the One that deserves honour...

We need Christians(I almost detest the word because of all false Christians) in power who understands liberty and who never will force anyone into their own faith...but they should not hide it. Being honest and upfront about your personal beliefs is NOT wrong. That is not the same as forcing your faith upon someone else.

I don't think we will see real blessings to this movement until Jesus name is put first...and I'm hoping that Dr. Paul will lead by setting an example. Please Dr. Paul, if you read this, talk about what Jesus did for you in your next speech. Let us know more about your insights from the Bible and why Jesus comes first in your life.

For many Jesus is the man who brought full freedom...not only in this world..but forever. Please don't hide this fact. Let him shine in truth and honour!

Let's change history for real...let us remember these years as dark years that was broken by the light and gave a new era of good times.

The alternative is not bright...it's up to all of us to show where real freedom comes from.

Please remember, the founders had only one king and it was Jesus.

BTW, feel free to correct my english. I'm from Sweden.

These folks are hardcore Ron Paulers and Christians too..

http://www.atruechurch.info/

The only thing they like more than calling out corrupt politicians is to call out the obvious corruption in most modern churches the way Jesus Christ called out the corruption in the synagogs.

If you call yourself a Christian and you support Ron Paul you must read this stuff and watch their videos...

These folks will sharpen you as a Christian.

If you want to tithe to a real church this is where you need to send it.

A tale of two buses,

which one would Jesus ride?

Two bus tours are crisscrossing the heartland of the United States delivering opposite messages about what our nation’s economic policy should be. One tour started Friday, the other tomorrow. The leaders of both tours have served as missionaries and are highly involved in their respective churches. But the similarities stop there. Their messages could not be farther apart.

One bus advocates policies that would assist the old, the sick, the poor, the disabled, immigrants, and the jobless.

The other advocates taxpayer funded assistance for big corporations, oil companies, billionaires, and polluters.

This is one of my favorite quotes:

"Preach the gospel, using words, if necessary."

Ron Paul does more to spread the message of loving God and your neighbor by the example he sets than all the so called "Christian" preachers who talk a good game, but really worship the state.

It is apparent that he knows deep in his soul that he is running for President of all the people in America, including those who believe all the variants of Christianity, as well as those who don't.

Although I consider myself a Christian, I do not trust those (like Rick Santorum) who are clearly using talk of God for political gain. I can only say, "Thank God Ron Paul doesn't do that."

Good call

Ron Paul is the only choice for true Christians. And I'll say this again - in the last two thousand years, liberty has ONLY been won by righteous Christians. God awards all victory. Through Jesus we shall prevail.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

How about you keep your Jesus

How about you keep your Jesus to yourself and not tell others that they need to put his name first? some of us have woken up from that brainwashing as well...even your Jesus supposedly said he only came for certain people and that only the sick need a doctor...BTW there was never anyone really named Jesus back then since the letter J never even existed until the 16th century.

George Washington said more.

Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness.

Ruling by prayer

Thanks a billion, Sweden.

Yes, I am with you. Real freedom does not come from government or a person we elect. Even if we are free from a tyrannical government or dictator, we can be slaves of sin. Regrettably, I do not think Dr. Paul is ever going to say anything about "right and wrong," except in regard to the Constitution. However, the Founders seemed to realize the importance of a correct faith. May I quote George Washington? "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports."

Ruling by prayer

Just don't get it...

Why is religion even part of the discussion? The only thing that matters is personal liberty. Jesus may have been a wonderful human being, but he lived thousands of years ago and although his philosophy and way of life will always perhaps be commendable, it is irrelevant. The peaceful person living in the Amazon jungle or John Lennon trying to share wisdom of peace in our era are no different. The only way we will ever evolve as a human species is to stop with religion, which is nothing but universal nonsense. Do you all believe in the Easter bunny, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy too?

The shortest verse in scripture was "Jesus wept". If Jesus saw

The shortest verse in scripture was "Jesus wept". If Jesus saw this site, he would likely weep again, and/or do whatever the modern equivalent is to what he did in the temple. Other than that, Jesus stayed out of politics and said, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's...", and in doing so separated church and state long before any of the founding fathers did.

One can be a devout Christian and still understand this. Honestly, I think if one doesn't, they are being led off like the Bible said many would be. The mainstream church is very much like the mainstream media, and sadly the masses involved are catching on about as quickly in both cases. That's why a remnant is mentioned. Read about Constantine and the council of Nicea, and how the Bible was put together by democratic vote if you have any interest in truth, folks. You may find as much or more value in some of the books that may have missed the cut by a vote or so, such as the book of Enoch which was mentioned in one of the books that did make it(Jude).

Finally, I seem to remember reading in scripture that we are not to take oaths/pledges(James 5:12 and Matthew 5:34), and that may answer a question someone asked earlier about where things didn't line up. I guess my Jehovah's Witness friend must have taken that a little more seriously than the MSC?

Faith may be required in certain things, but anyone with understanding knows the faith should not be placed in men, especially the ones cherry picking what to insert and what to leave out of the Bible, under orders from a Roman Emperor. Jesus was bigger on truth and practicality than on the law of man or tradition, which can be seen numerous times, as when he healed on the Sabbath. Seek, and ye shall find my friends. I think Martin Luther and those who followed in his wake would also weep if they were alive to see this.

One thing I know Jesus would agree with Ron Paul on is that true change must start in hearts and minds of man, and not from government. The truth shall set you free, my brothers.

Great Post!

No offense, but I'm surprised this post is from someone from Sweden. We all need to wake up and realize that we have turn away from God and He has been punishing us for this. He has allowed the evil ones to take control of the world because we abandoned Him.

Ron Paul also said he would make his pro-life stance a focal point during his campaign, but he has been pretty quiet on this topic.

We better start praying for a good end to this year.

This is really great!

Good comments. You guys are great!

They are with Ron Paul all the way.

Those of us who believe in Christ understand the importance of freedom of religion. It is the freedom for us all to believe and express ourselves the way we wish regardless of what someone might do to demean and ridicule our personal views in a public forum.

Also, for those who say they are Christians, sometimes it is good to have our beliefs challenged and reproved by scripture. If some are not interested then that is ok too. I can not and will not attempt to force my views on you other than to suggest and/or mention what I think is important in life. For me that is to know Christ.

I think most here know how to read and therefore we should let each decide for him/herself what is important to them to read without bashing the mere mention of it. Don't worry, I am not on a crusade.

Important in Life.

+1. It is the need of our times, what you suggested above, copied = "mention what I think is important in life. For me that is to know Christ."
This will bring about many healthy changes in our lives (I have no doubt-s about it) and in the world around us, and there are many reasons for the same.
For a start 1) Title, 2) Name, 3) Greeting. These are easy bits of info. Seek, question, verify, bear witness to the true, authentic, from original sources (not europe).
Then you can consider 4) basic teachings, 5) deeds & actions (not the miracles), 6) parables, 7) his enemies.

2nd coming? Long chapter /post.

And another thing

What does it matter even if Paul did invoke the Saviors Name. You can say His Name all you want but if you aren't willing to follow His teachings then it is for naught. Dr Paul supports following the constitution which by its very nature is against Scripture so why would calling on "Jesus", as you erroneously call Him, help in this cause?

Just my observation.

Much of the Constitution is based on biblical principles

How is it against Scripture in any way?

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Personal interpretation of history

“Question with boldness even the existence of God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear” -Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was a Christian

He was a clergyman in his church, he attended church in the US Capitol building every week for his entire presidency/vice presidency, donated to the Bible Society, put together a collection of Scriptures for the Native Americans to help missionaries, etc.

That quote is out of context. You should read the entire letter. It is to a young man to whom Jefferson was like a father after his own father (Jefferson's good friend) died when he was very young. Jefferson is giving him advice in several different areas. One part of the letter is devoted to theology. It is kind of a lesson in apologetics i.e., defense of faith. Jefferson is advising him to start from the beginning so he can know what he believes, why he believes it, and so he can defend it. It is the same thing a young Bible student would be taught today. It only makes Jefferson look like more of a Christian, not less.

Much history surrounding the Founding Fathers, particularly Thomas Jefferson (e.g. His alleged affair with Sally Hemings), has been revised.

Besides, Thomas Jefferson didn't even have anything to do with writing the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. He was in France at the time.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

The True Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter to a man by the name of Mr. Short, "Among the sayings and discourses imputed to him(Jesus), by his biographers, I find many passages of fine imagination, correct morality, and of the most lovely benevolence; and others, again, of so much ignorance, so much absurdity, so much untruth, charlatanism and imposture, as to pronounce it impossible that such contradictions should have proceeded from the same being. I separate, therefore, the gold from the dross; restore to him the former, and leave the latter to the stupidity of some, the roguery of others of his disciples. Mr. Jefferson is calling Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John "stupid," and "rogues."

The words that follow concerning the Apostle Paul are probably the most telling of all, This is Mr. Jefferson's assessment of the Apostle Paul. He says, ""Of this band of dupes and imposters, Paul was the great Coryphaeus, and the FIRST CORRUPTOR OF THE DOCTRINES OF JESUS."

Jefferson always identified himself as a Christian

However, there were a few times in his life when he strayed away from orthodox Christian doctrines, especially at the end of his life. After the second Great Awakening a new movement took root in the area where he lived (around Charlottesville). This movement was extremely anti-Calvinistic, so much so that it rejected nearly all parts of Calvinism, including the Trinity, the virgin birth of Jesus, the inspiration of the letters of the apostle Paul, etc. Many of the movement's leaders were close friends of Jefferson and he himself was affected by it and he began to share similar views. The movement started to die a year or two after his death. Had he lived longer he likely would have reverted to orthodox Christianity. But again, he did follow orthodox Christianity for most of his lifetime and he always loved the morals of Jesus. In fact he studied the morality of all the ancient philosophers and concluded that the morals of Jesus of Nazareth were the most perfect and complete.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien
