Bob Dylan for Ron Paul!

Okay, Dylan isn't endorsing Paul (at least not that I know of), and in the end, this is just a clever ad for Dylan's new album. Go to the site and you too can type your own messages that will show up on the cards. However, I just couldn't resist with that headline. What can I say? The internet is amazing, and this is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

Thanks to the stranger for pointing the way to this site.

Michael

As someone pointed out, the original lyrics to the song are fitting as well. Here they are:

good one

good one Michael –
yeah, hard to resist, clever marketing

The interesting thing about

The interesting thing about watching that is that Allen Ginsberg was in it. Ginsberg once said that "A lot of republicans are cocksuckers." Long before the time of larry craig and Mark Folley. Check the spelling on those names. Btw Ginsberg was the bald man in the background with the beard.

Furthermore, I wonder if Dylan would support, or knows about Paul. But Dylan had supported Barry Gold Water. I know he wrote about it in his book Chronicles, but lacking the book right now, and needing to study for exam I show you this piece from an interview:

Brad: Some of the people you wrote about in the book, people you said you admired might have come as a surprise to your readers.

Bob: Mmm-hmmm.

Brad: Frank Sinatra Jr., for one. And the singer Johnny Rivers. And Barry Goldwater. The same Barry Goldwater who, you sang in one of your songs, you wouldn’t let move in next door and marry your daughter?

Bob: See, I don’t know where those lyrics came from. It was like a hand of mystery came up and wrote them down while I was payin’ the Con Ed bill or somethin’.

Brad: So were you disappointed when Barry Goldwater lost the presidency to Lyndon Johnson in ‘64?

Bob: Yeah, sure. But then,
If you think I’ll let Lyndon Johnson
Move in next door and marry my daughter
doesn’t rhyme so good. And, Even Barry Goldwater must have to stand naked is an image no one was ready to contemplate. Too ahead of its time, I guess.

I dont know too much about Goldwater, but I have herd paul described as a Goldwater republican.

Just listen to Ronald Reagan talk about goldwater...

Just listen to Ronald Reagan talk about Goldwater you would think he is talking about Ron Paul... I really think that was this countries first chance to turn around and this is our last chance...

Watch it here...

Listen to the numbers he is quoting and compare them to today!

Also, I read somewhere that

Also, I read somewhere that Paul likes Arlo Guthrie, who is Woody's son, and a great influence of Dylans. But that connection means nothing.

Now THAT was FUN!

Ron's one "commandment" to us all in this campaign is to HAVE FUN and with ammo like this, it just becomes that much easier to do so :-)

With God on Our Side

The song "With God on Our Side" by Dylan sums up pretty well the attitude of Americans and this war, especially the religious right. We are taught that God is on America's side therefore whatever war we are in we are the "good guys" no matter what the cause. It would be nice to have more public figures like musicians supporting Ron Paul. Does anybody know of any?

"So now as I'm leavin'
I'm weary as Hell
The confusion I'm feelin'
Ain't no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God's on our side
He'll stop the next war."

Bob Dylan's nobody's fool

Wow.....there are many sound bites from Bob's music that could easily be used for the Ron Paul campaign march, but for those not too familiar with Bob's music, he has a song called "When You Gonna Wake Up?" and it would serve well as a campaign theme.

Dylan has been a champion of personal freedom, and the responsibility that goes along with it for so long, most people can't even fathom.......I bet Ron Paul could.

Bob Dylan is to Music, what
Ron Paul is to Politics...............'nuff said!
