Joe Scarborough - "Why I Voted for Ron Paul"

I operate on instinct. So I should not have been surprised by my own gut reaction to the absentee ballot that lay before me on the kitchen table.

I scanned the list for Republican primary candidates and let instinct take over.

Frankly, I don't know what to think about Joe Scarborough.

Some years ago he seemed to really support Dr. Paul.

Then he got hostile towards him.

And now all of a sudden he votes for him?

I don't like calling it a "protest" vote.

It's a vote for principle.

But there were some positive statements in the article.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

rp supporters are angry at those that publicly support Paul.

how wierd is it to have a politician that has supporters that are disgusted when a public figure publicly endorses ron paul.

those that made neg comments about joe are infact romney-paul supporters. hence, the commenters below hate it that joe picked paul over romney.

just as more and more rp supporters now don't care about rand's endorsement of romney, and even lying to say it doesn't mean anything and uphold him as their savior when rand has never said or tried to be a leader or even suggest he might run for president.

folks - stop listening to media and establishmetn and standng toe to toe with them, unless you say you are one with them.

this is why some rp supporters are called loonies, because they speak out of both sides of their mouth and don't make any sense, until you realize that their hypocrisy is because they are secret romney lovers.

Good choice Joe.

I applaud your new found courage to support Ron Paul. What a difference 6 months makes. I haven't forgot:

May you be more wise going forward.

Not good enough

The one thing he did do was respectfully allow Ron Paul to speak uninterrupted without twisting and misconstruing his words. He also typically draws a stark contrast between Romney’s and other’s big government spending vs. Dr. Paul’s limited government positions in a positive way, a nice contrast to Faux News. I agree with other comments here, however, that he could have done more. As I recall he was pretty silent on RP during the GOP debates. His support was anecdotal. It was always “my son supports Ron Paul,” but he would never say it of himself which was very disappointing. His protest vote as a too little too late scenario is magnified by the fact that
he concurs with Ron Paul so strongly on the spending issue both domestically and overseas. I get the same frustration hearing Jim DeMint praise Ron Paul up and down but not having the courage to endorse him although DeMint said he hesitates to endorse anyone.

Whatever doesn't help romney is 'not good enough' for you.

listen to your shocking negativity. you are lying about joe not being good enough for you. you are angry he did sell himself out, just like ron's own son did. when you are aligned with romney, of course you will fight with those on the other side like joe scarborough.

you would not be a happy camper if demint ever endorsed paul. it is not allegiance to paul that you want from demint, but you want full and total, unwavering allegiance to paul's establishment staff - tate & co.

Pot calling the kettle black

You’re the one that’s negative. I praised Joe for his good deeds in his drawing contrasts to Romney in favor of Dr. Paul in case you didn’t notice. Of course I would be happy with DeMint endorsing Dr. Paul. That was the whole gist of my statement. You obviously are reading only what you want, and I don’t appreciate being called a liar. “Shocking negativity”would apply to your response, not mine. Your whole title "Whatever doesn't help Romney is 'not good enough' for you" is pure drummed up fantasy on your part.

not good enough"

that stmt alone was so negative and powerful. ultimately, whatever positive public people did for paul wasn't god enough - and that is where the movement becomes negative, with negative vibes when i read your comment.

only what crooks like tate & co do for paul is 'good enough' is another way to look at it.

but if you are saying if you meant it not so negative, then good.

The quote below sums up Ron Paul's entire career:

"...the only candidate who spent his entire public career standing athwart history yelling “stop” to an ever-expanding centralized state."

joe

His kids are Ron Paul supporters.

Scarborough is fake.

He only brings up Ron Paul's name every once in awhile to seem relevant. Most of the time he goes out of his way to ignore Ron Paul on his show

joe and the article he wrote is real,

and that is what you find annoying.

paul's establishment staff of thugs are 'fake', yet you love and obey them unconditionally.

hence, clearly you have problem with anyone with 'fake', but have a problem when someone is not fake. and it is this kind of thinking that has and will destroy this country.

look further and see that you stand toe to toe with media on all matters that concern them.

scarborough

had 5 years to line up behind paul and waits till after the primaries.
stfu you a$$tard

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

Yep

Was thinking the same thing. Fk Joe.

Joe could help this movement

but sits quiet, until his support really has no meaning..

when judgement day comes, I will sit quiet on his defense, just as he did to Dr. Paul.
They ALL eventually sell out Dr. Paul,
Or the cowards come out with last minute support for him- when it no longer matters.
Go away Joe, we got this.

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

bring it on joe, 'we do not have this'.

as paul was defeated in landslide and only polls 10% within gop, it would mean you need a lot of help and don't have this.

the only way you 'have this' is if, like tate and other campaign officials, you really don't want paul to have any influence or be elected.

so any help from joe makes you angry, bec joe is indeed influential and he wrote a great article. and unlike ron's own son, joe did not sell his soul to romney - and that pisses you off.

jj

sorry

wrong.

Rand Paul 2016

Joe

Of course...he is a politician lol

He is incapable of telling the truth because of his training imo.

donvino

thanks Joe

A pleasant surprise that Joe turned his back on the establishment and voted for our guy. Good for him. I have new respect for him, and will watch Morning Joe a little more regularly now.

That's the point

to get more eyeballs watching his "programming". I'm not falling for it.

"So now I’ve cast my protest vote. It felt good."

Voting for Ron Paul is not a protest vote, it is the right vote. Where was Scarborough when we needed him?

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

Sunshine patriot.

good way to put it SteveM

One day he's praising how RP predicted the housing bubble, next day he's blacking him out or forgetting about him. I have little respect for Joe.
