I've never been so sad visiting the DP

I've been visiting the Daily Paul for quite a while now and have been a Ron Paul supporter since 2007. Never did I think I would have so much anger and frustration built up in me toward my own fellow RP supporters. The stubbornness and extremism I've seen lately is extremely saddening. The intolerance for anything but perfection is ignorant and counter-productive. This is the case in two major issues right now in the liberty movement.

The first thing that disappoints me is what many of you have been saying in regards to Rand Paul's endorsement of Romney. Don't get me wrong, I was very disappointed in the endorsement myself. That day, my reaction was a post of "Goddammit Rand Paul" on facebook. But to call him a traitor or a neocon and disavow him is absolutely uncalled for. It's like many of you have just lost your minds throughout this fight. His endorsement of Romney doesn't change what we can visibly see that his ideology is. He is still a member of the Liberty movement. This treatment is not warranted. He is still doing more for the Liberty movement than any Senator in my lifetime, yet that apparently means nothing to you because of a couple unimportant decisions we disagree with.

The second issue of ignorance is about all the anti-Gary Johnson sentiment. It's very frustrating to read about so many people who say they're going to write in Ron Paul even if he's not a candidate. What good does that do?? Your vote literally will not count. You have a chance to support an actual liberty candidate for president and a chance to buck the two-party system and all you care about is satisfying your own deranged and misguided conscience? I've never once thought so many Ron Paul supporters could be so closed-minded. Not only that, but many of you treat this as if you're either a RP supporter or a GJ supporter, like you can't somehow fight for Paul in the primaries while at the same time spreading the word about Johnson in case Paul isn't the nominee.

When the GOP convention is over and if no miraculous upset happens, PLEASE do not throw your vote away in the general election. Voting for a non-candidate is equivalent to not voting at all. You might as well vote for yourself or Thomas Jefferson or Jesus. Please just be rational and remember this isn't about a person, it's about an idea, and that idea will not spread if you just cling to one person and only accept perfection.

I will not vote for Johnson

because he said he wants to fix the FED! You can not fix a system of tyrants, they will shoot you in the back first chance!

I voted the lesser of two evils for 40 years and now I will not choose lesser of three evils. After I see a chance of really being free for the fist time in my life, I will never compromise. We must end the IRS, and FED to have any chance of real freedom in America

Ron Paul or nothing for the 3 votes in my house!

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

He said he will sign the

He said he will sign the death of the Fed if it crosses his desk, the same as Ron Paul would if he were running for President.

Pretty soon all this won´t matter as a dictatorship is

de facto.

All the laws and all the things built will be used.

Better prepare yourself... all this politics won´t matter much then. It´s too late for that anyway.

The big masses won´t wake up until it is too late as usual.

Same as last time around.

Oh Well

More votes for the Democrats I guess.

Too bad Kucinich will not be around for a second term. He must be pissed since they will most likely retain the Executive.

The People get what they deserve. ie. Football, Hollywood, Dancing, and beer. lol

p.s. Good time to tune in to Dr. Faber after the election and hear what the upcoming deals are going to be. ie. get the analysis and trends

Gary Johnson Largest Problems & Ron Paul Write In

A Ron Paul write in will not count in most states if the actual candidate himself does not make the attempt or allow for to be listed as an option on the ballot. Gary Johnson largest problems still and continue to be lack of fundraising, grassroots, media coverage(not surprising) and direction of the political party or presidential campaign. So, writing in Ron Paul is good for the heart and soul, but will not count. Voting for Gary Johnson is wasted choice because of his clear lack of campaign direction. So, I will not be voting in the Presidential race and aiding in the down ticket races.

Write-in votes are counted

Yes

How closed minded, intolerant, and without nuance must we be to be unwilling to go along with a Neocon sell out. If only we understood the "Grand Strategy" behind Business As Usual and feathering Neocon Rands nest.

Calling Rand a NEOCON is a

Calling Rand a NEOCON is a ridiculous statement. If Rand was a NEOCON Sellout, it would be obvious. And if you look at his voting record, you cannot show much of anything that will back your position. Rand isn't a sellout.

Most of what the OP is saying is true.

Although, I think over time this will blow over, we will resolve our differences and be back to normal. The movement is coming to a crossroads soon with the primary coming to an end, and being unsure of the future has us all a little worked up. I think we should forget about Rand and other things for now and concentrate on Tampa. We have plenty of time to judge Rand after the election.

Don't worry.... be happy

don't worry be happy. Vote for the best person for the job!!!! Dr. Ron Paul!!! We won't quit!!!!!! HAAHAAHAHAA~~~~!!!!!!!

Here's the issue with GJ:

Unlike Ron Paul, he has inflitrated neither the Democrat nor the Republican party. Therefore, due to our two-party system, he doesn't really exist.

You MUST infiltrate this two-party system to fix anything. It must be changed from the inside. That much is obvious.

Gary Johnson's problem is, he's an outsider. Not a game-changer.

fighting from the outside is

fighting from the outside is legit. it gives the liberty movement one more front.

not too long ago ross perot threatened the two party establishment. i didnt like the guy, but in june of 1992 he led national polling with 39%. had he not gone crazy the next month and dropped out, he might have won. its possible to do. johnson just needs to get into the debates.

If you quit on the movement, you owe Ron Paul an apology....
And get your ASS BACK IN GEAR!!!

Again, a person makes a reasonable and thoughtful post and it get's downvoted. This place has gotten ridiculous. What are you people going to do when Ron is out of the picture? Write him in until your deaths? Some of you are flat out crazy. It's no wonder why people call us nuts.

Nuts, what it is?

What's nuts?
Is voting (or doing) the same thing over and over and expecting different results. The country has been in a steady decline the past 30-40 years and that's because of the people voting for the establishment's puppets (both Dems & Republicans).
Now, That's what Nuts is...
It's not the DP people, it's the sheeple that are the nutty ones.
Whenever you go waking your dog around the block, or whatever, Have you noticed it's the dog(s) that's in the pen, doing the barking. Your dog is just going along minding it's own business (happy) with what he's doing...The neighborhood dogs are going nuts barking their elffin heads off....Just an observation.

Lol, that's an interesting take. My dogs do it all the time. I'm only speaking of a minority of course. There are plenty of level headed people here, I certainly don't mean everybody.

Oh, and I do too. Go figure.

Sorry you are sad sbar, but IMO the GJ

folk have been the MOST divisive since Rand's unfortunate decision. We could have brushed it off as a green senator influenced by opportunist RNC partisans.
But the GJ people descended on this site like an eager flock of vultures smelling carrion. The Liberty movement is tolerant and positive and knows that freedom is a very big tent that includes well meaning people from minarchist Conservatives to left-libertarian anarchists. We don't agree on lots of specific implementations, but the core glue is the NAP.

Ron Paul has been the one advocate of NAP in congress for decades, through an incredible one man battle against tyranny and war. GJ at this point is a superficial Libertarian not yet on board consistently with the NAP. For thorough libertarians he's not a serious contender as leader of libertarians. There are so many more worthy and influential in this movement. The LP seems easily dazzled by known political figures and mere social libertarianism, without regard to consistent serious principles even when they point to unpopular stances that require hard work to educate people to understand.

GJ and his advocates have been too eager and quick to try to take RP's mantle. The RPr3VOLution is far stronger than you realize, there is no chance Gary is up to replacing RP. The honorable action for the LP would be to honor Dr. Ron Paul fully while pursuing your 3rd party strategy. Divisiveness has been your choice and it does not serve Liberty or Peace or the LP or the r3VOLution.

If the Libertarians had

If the Libertarians had nominated RJ Harris, I'd be happy to vote for him. Instead they nominated another non-libertarian to represent the party, so my boycott of Libertarian presidential candidates continues.

How is he not a libertarian?

How is he not a libertarian?

I can tell you how Ron Paul isn't a libertarian.

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." - Thomas Jefferson
"Annoyance is step one of thinking"
"We're all in the same boat, it doesn't matter if you like me"

He's thinks America's

He's thinks America's military has a role to play overseas and I've never heard him speak in favor of sound money. Frankly, I don't bother to vote unless there's a hard money candidate.

Allow me to repeat myself for the 100th time

Gary Johnson, is not a liberty candidate, hes a libertarian who is just trying to make headway and is only going to steal Dr Pauls crowd, because he runs based on some of the same principles. He is another lesser of evils, no different than choosing Romney over Obama.

Im sure you all remember this...

We are not afraid to lose if losing means our integrity and principles remain with us. Our numbers have tripled this election... we have already won. We have spread the message of individual liberty far and wide. Ron Paul has inspired liberty movements in Africa, Europe, and even Korea. Only a third of American colonists believed that the American Revolution was necessary, and they changed the course of history forever. It is our turn now to do the same. An election outcome will not change that. We would lay down our lives for the cause of liberty if it were required of us, and it may be. I welcome losing if the winning team is not supporting the principles that this country was founded on. But, I will not go as a lamb to the slaughter and vote for someone who my heart, my gut, and reason tells me is wrong for this country. Like Patrick Henry said, "I know not what course others will take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death."

Ron Paul or No One At All.
Give me Liberty or Give me Death!

"Just build the darn fence!"

"Just build the darn fence!"

Was that Ron Paul or john McCain, it's hard to tell them apart......
