Is Mitt Romney scared of Ron Paul supporters switching to Gary Johnson?

Of course, Romney wants, needs, us to vote for him. For him, that's the ideal. But if we choose to support Gary Johnson and vote for GJ, he won't get our votes. Worse, with long time libertarians and new/young Ron Paul supporters getting together to support Johnson, his campaign might take off and start picking up the independents and Republicans who are social liberals. Start throwing some disgruntled former Obama voters in there and here's no telling how far this could go... ultimately, it could make Romney irrelevant.
This is what Romney does not want us to realize. This is what Romney fears. And, yet, this is the best hope for liberty!
I wonder how many of those down-voting pro Johnson posts and comments and looking at his record in a half-empty glass kind of way are actually plants from the Romney campaign?
Support liberty! Keep Romney awake at night! Support Gary Johnson 2012!

I don't think Romney really
I don't think Romney really cares. I think he realizes that he's supposed to take the fall and give Obama another term, while simultaneously making his supporters believe Obama is the antichrist so the voter mentality stays "us vs them". No matter how vicious the campaign attacks get, never forget that they are on the same team.
Ideology over Strategy
For Romney and the Republicans, the strategic move would have been to ally with the Ron-Paul faction, but the Republicans chose ideological purity over strategy. Republicans, founded in the 1850s as the party of mass murder and economic exploitation, want neoconservatives in their ranks, not libertarians.
"Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors, but today we kneel only to truth." - Kahlil Gibran
A lot of RP supporters are saying 4 more years of Obama is
better than 8 of ORomney. That's the lesser of two evils syndrome again. I'm aiming for a winner, period. America does not have another 4 years of dread. Four years from now America will be decimated if the Paul does not win.
If Ron Paul does not get the Nomination in Tampa, I pray he switches to Libertarian ticket, but if he does not he probably will endorse Gary Johnson; and I hope he adds to that endorsement by telling all his supporters to vote Gary Johnson.
In a fair election, Johnson would stand a good chance, but unless someone on the Paul side could get Anonymous to hack the Diebold evil robots me thinks it would be 4 more of Obomanation.
no
He has too much money to be scared.
He will pick up votes elsewhere. Rush and the major Evangelicals will support him.
donvino
Please!
They are trying to use and promote Gary Johnson to divide the Ron Paul camp!
IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
President Ron Paul!
P.S This is a attempt to pull Ron Paul delegates and alternates!
Gary Johnson has NO chance!
IF Ron Paul is not nominated as the Republican candidate....
Not a chance in HELL that I will vote for Romney OR Obama.
I would sooner vote for the Man in the Moon.
And since Gary Johnson's chances are better than those of the Man in the Moon (who isn't on any ballot as far as I know) I will be voting for Gary Johnson.
No! He's scared his own delegates will switch to Ron Paul!
No! He's scared his own delegates will eventually switch over to Ron Paul!
The Winds of Change!
BAH!
When you have the party and the establishment cheating for you and flipping votes for you, you're not afraid of winning primaries. What Mittens IS afraid of is that come the RNC that the Ron Paul supporters will outnumber the Romney supporters and install Paul as the nominee when it's so much harder to rig the vote.
Stop hawking Gary Johnson
Will be voting for RP regardless.
Like an elephant
being scared of a mouse?
Why would he be scared?
I'm sure he knows who the electronic voting machines will choose by now! The machines "chose" him in the primaries.
Of course not....
Mitt Romney (or at least his strategists) are far more scared that Ron Paul supporters WILL NOT switch to Gary Johnson. That is why we must stay the course. Onward to Tampa and beyond.
Ron Paul 2012 - It's Almost Here!
Bottom line, a vote for Obama is a vote for Obama.
Friends: A lot of you are advocating a vote for Obama, if Ron Paul does not get the nomination, as opposed to a third party vote for Gary Johnson.
Though I am WELL aware that a vote for Obama increases his chance of being elected, and therefore gives us a chance in four years - I remind you that if we swing Democrat the whole country will think that we have bought into Obama.
Political pundits won't be saying "In a shrewd political move Liberty minded Republicans have cast their vote for the guy who potentially will be out of office sooner...." They will be saying "The Liberty movement has DISAPPEARED! I guess it was a flash in the pan. Those people turned out to be Corporatist Fascist Obama embracing supporters AFTER ALL."
Sorry - my vote goes for the best candidate up there.
What do you mean best
What do you mean best candidate up there? Are you saying the best out the people whose names are on the final ballot?
If Ron Paul is on the ballot, sure I'll vote for him. If Romney is the republican candidate on the ballot then GJ would be the best candidate on the ballot that no one has heard of. You could write in Ron Paul if you like but I'd prefer voting for someone whose name is on the ballot.
It's very important that GJ who will be on all 50 state ballots be included in the poles and in the debates. It will require many active requests of the news outlets to get GJ included in he poles and the debates. That is critical whether you vote for him or not.
I thought my post was clear.
That when I advocated voting for the "best candidate up there" in the third paragraph, I was refering to Gary Johnson, as indicated in the first paragraph.
I'm pretty sure Mitt's hoping
I'm pretty sure Mitt's hoping that RP's supporters 'go away' to GJ, lol.
NOTE HOW I HAVE GO AWAY IN QUOTES BEFORE YOU DOWNVOTE. JUST SAYING! IT WAS A JOKE THAT IMPLIES GOING OVER TO GJ IS GIVING UP ON PAUL BEFORE THE NOMINATING PROCESS IS FINISHED!
Now it's lost any humor it had since I had to explain it. :|
LOL
no up or down vote from me...just LOL

They are pulling you away from what you should be focusing on!Delegates!!
Ron Paul 2012!!!!
Who is pulling us away from becoming delegates?
Having a backup plan in place for AFTER TAMPA if God forbid things don't go well is not saying leave RP now and go to GJ. Let's do our best to win in Tampa but don't be naeve about TPTB, they are out to crush our movement and have already gotten to Rand it seems. I think RP's own campaign has done more to take the focus away from the delegate process anyways by putting out defeatist e-mails.
I think the Romney supporters are afraid
of the Paul supporterd taking over mitwits campaign and taking both to Tampa under a Ron Paul flag,
a steamroll if you will!
"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!
Rand Paul 2016
No, of course not...
He probably doesn't even know Gary Johnson is running like the rest of the non-libertarian population.
I will tell you what he is afraid of though...
Actually winning and being the man at the helm of the train wreck this country has become.
Who would want that? Nothing can correct the course of things now, and anyone with half a brain (to which I will give Romney that credit), would run screaming from the job.
Watch, I bet you he only makes a half hearted run at the job... :)
The Philosophy Of Liberty -

That's ridiculous...
...Mitt Romney's ego, plus the fact the President has all the supposed experts has his disposal, plus unlimited amounts of Fed dollars, plus all the lobbyists who will actually form his policy, there's no question Mittens wants to put POTUS on his resume.
Ron Paul would be more concerned about the train going off the cliff than anyone, he is the most aware of the precarious position the Fed has put us in, and most aware of the potential backlash against his $1 trillion budget cuts if he were ever in a position to implement it

FINALLY ABSOLUTE truth!
Wolfe, you have just given the whole truth and NOTHING is going to change it. The Liberty Movement will be there to pick up the pieces around 2-14 years after the dregs of society are DEAD! This train wreck is not going to correct. It was seen back in 2000-2001 and No One cared.
The TRUTH is coming and NO ONE believed the DP's own (JIMR1150GS) from back in the early days of the DP.
Bet he is CRYING NOW! I know he tried to let everyone know. He is why I started saving Gold, Silver, SEED and Guns. He is why I started trading seed amoungst DP members.

You know how there's always like 20 people running
for president that you've never heard of anywhere? That's Gary Johnson to 99.99% of voters. I'd imagine that Romney is as scared of Gary Johnson as he is of Virgil Goode.
Explore Orthodox Christianity
Nope. But he's scared . . .
He's scared that the programmable voting machines will be hacked by the pro-Obama wing of Goldman Sachs rather than by his own Goldman Sachs allies. Oh, did you think those machines were just to count votes?

GJ trolls are annoying.
But, they're not half as annoying as the nuts on here who think they're going to write Paul in. Why in the world would you waste gas money to go to the polls and write someone in? Especially considering it probably won't even be counted. I used to think of doing that if Paul didn't get the nom (which he isn't btw.), but, after a little thinking on it, I realized just how senseless and stupid it would be. Ron Paul is no longer a candidate for president. He has said so himself. There's no reason why we ought not to be able to promote someone else for president now that Ron Paul is out.
Considering...
...the ballots have not been counted and final delegates counts have not be assigned so why are looking beyond Tampa? If Ron has a large Delegation and the "vote by conscious" ruling determines that delegates can vote their conscience on the first ballot Per the RNC's own rules, there will be some surprises and maybe an outright win for RP on the first ballot. Remember we have a economic meltdown on the horizon, it's happening right now in Europe and it will soon to affect the people of the US by the disastrous policies of the Fed and the US Treasury.
Ron Paul has an answer, no one else does. No one else wants the troops home, no one wants to end the NDAA, no one will reduce spending.Face it
Ron Paul is playing the game by stating what the RNC want to hear
