My comment on USNEWS. Sorry, I couldnt resist...

"The GOP is scrambling. It is seriously fun to watch...

We RP supporters have come to the realization that America will not wake up to the One Party system that you/we have been fed. Therefore, we have taken it over. Google Ron Paul if you would like any further news on our acquisition of the GOP.

Thanks."

Pride

Pride comes before the fall. Five states are required to place a name in nomination in Tampa. That appears to be in-hand. Next, keep Romney from achieving 1144 delegate votes in the first round. That is not in hand. Planks in the Republican platform are a worthless trade-off for sending the process into the second round, were Romney's support will crumble.

I fail to see how Romney

I fail to see how Romney would be any bit better than Obama. Neither are going to change the major trends down the toilet, and neither is going to react differently when the other shoe drops. Namely: squeeze harder.

I think it's far more important to educate people about the fundamental reasons of why we are where we are than placing any hopes on Romney.

Way to go Patriots

Iowa GOP Convention 21 of 25!

Now that the dust has settled, I wanted to
add a few ideas to my post.

Just to let everyone in on a secret: we didn't
win this alone. We had help. We should be
VERY thankful for those wonderful,
clear-minded people who ignored the RINO
republicans and joined us to vote for
liberty-centric, limited government principles.

I can't say anything more than that, but this
should be our strategy going forward. Make
allies whenever possible to get our ideas and
policies implemented. After Tampa--if Ron Paul
doesn't win--we need to reach out, educate,
schmooze, cajole, and do whatever it takes to
get people to start thinking like unwavering
constitutional conservatives.

I am now going to tick off a lot of people: If
Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, I will
vote for Willard Mitt Romney. I will either
hold my nose or bring a clothespin to do it
for me when filling in that little circle. I
will continue to support Rand Paul. He is
probably the most liberty-minded in all of
the Senate. Now before you start typing a
bunch of four-letter words and issuing death
threats, please let me explain why.

If Obama gets reelected, the European and
American economies will collapse. People will
die. Real unemployment will be around 30 to
50%. This will not be pretty. In fact, even
if he doesn't get reelected, there is no
guarantee that economies will not fail.

Because of this, we need to implement a new
strategery: the "make Romney our b*tch" strategy.
Just as we have organized to move the direction
of the Republican party towards a true,
constitutionally conservative stance, we can
organize and strategize to force Romney into
our corner. We can do it.

It won't be the same as having "President
Ron Paul"--it will be lots of work--but it can
be done.

You now be workin' for us, Willard.

You think the economy won't collapse under Mitt?

I think you're right that if Obama gets elected then we will witness a major global economic and monetary collapse.

However, I think we'll see pretty much the same thing if Mitt gets elected too. Mitt is no different from Obama in pretty much all things that will affect whether or not the US is hit with a major economic calamity. He doesn't want to get spending under control right away. He doesn't want to stop the Fed's policies. He doesn't want to end foreign military entanglements. He also doesn't seem to want to stop the growing police state (because he thinks the gov't will need that power to control the masses when the SHTF?).

I don't know if Gary Johnson could stave off anything. I doubt it, but I do think he could lessen the impact somewhat IF Congress would follow his lead... which I doubt they would.

No, our best bet is still RP. RP probably can't prevent the coming economic collapse either, but he most assuredly can soften it's blow and will certainly help us come out in a much better position once the major crunch is done.

Listen you make an excellent

Listen you make an excellent point. If our goal is to take over the republican party I bet we could get more done by supporting Mitt Romney and holding him accountable. And for those of you who are thinking about supporting Gary Johnson... Please don't. That guy I don't trust at all. He is not for states rights. He is dangerous. I fell he would go along with the establishment just as much as Romney(that is without us holding Romney accountable).

What's with their claim RON conceeded Mitt will be the nominee?

What's with their claim that RON conceeded Mitt will be the nominee?

RAND effectively conceeded this. But did Ron?

Did I miss something? Or is it just another media error / lie, a continued elaboration of the spin of the decision not to SPEND MONEY ON ADS in the remaining primary states into a campaign susupension.

I certainly hope that Cushman

I certainly hope that Cushman doesn't equate standing for principle with rabble-rousing. Frankly, I'm RAPIDLY tiring of warnings aimed at Ron's supporters while many of the GOP establishment should be behind bars. The Republican establishment is doing an adequate job of embarrassing itself. Please STOP the pacifist rhetoric aimed primarily at appeasing the GOP establishment. Ensuring the Republican establishment "walks the talk" is just dandy as long as the talk is adherence to the US Constitution. Regardless, best wishes to Iowa's delegation in Tampa.

Ron Paul's Iowa maneuvers place GOP in awkward position [GOOD!]
By Seema Mehta

DES MOINES — Rick Santorum won the Iowa caucuses in January, with Mitt Romney a close second, but neither was the true winner this weekend when the delegates who actually will vote at the Republican National Convention were selected. That would be Ron Paul.

The congressman from Texas finished a distant third in the Iowa caucuses more than six months ago, but of the 28 delegates selected Friday and Saturday to head to the national convention, 23 are Paul supporters – and they are not bound to support the victor of the state’s first-in-the-nation voting contest.

It’s part of a quiet strategy by Paul and his backers to amass an army of supporters at the GOP gathering in August in Tampa, Fla., to push Paul’s views on liberty, states' rights, the monetary system and foreign policy. By working arcane electoral rules and getting supporters into positions of power in local, county and state party operations, the strategy is paying dividends across the nation.

Lawyers for Ron Paul

There may not be any bound candidates in Tampa. The lawsuit filed by Lawyers for Ron Paul may unbind the delegates and shed light on RNC voter/election fraud. I just hope that we end up with 1144 + Paul supporters as delegates in Tampa.

Technically ...

The delegates are already not bound according to GOP central committee attorney who authorized a "bound" McCain delegate to vote for Romney in 2008 in the first round, citing Rule 38, lots of info on this on the web.

But you are right, should the case in CA go the right way, it will further embolden those that have the balls to skuttle the RINO coronation. Might just be like water on the wicked witch.

I won my district Alternate

I won my district Alternate seat with some competition, but we won.

After we have pretty successfully "taken over" the Iowa GOP I want to make sure and put the call out for everyone to step up. In the 90's when the social conservatives took over the party they continued to work hard and get candidates elected, they worked hard to find new candidates, and do what is necessary to do a good job. I want to make sure that all the Ron Paul folks don't just fight for the nomination then go home. We all MUST stay plugged in and continue to fight for the candidates that represent us. We MUST look at the future and continually try to further our cause. We need to continually work on educating other and TRY to mend all bridges that may be bruised and battered. We now must step up and do everything we can to run this show as it should be ran. now comes the hard part.

Looking forward to serving everyone in Tampa!

We desperately need a

We desperately need a CONTINUOUSLY updated database of factions within the GOP either at local or state, e.g. Iowa, levels that are controlled by strict, liberty-oriented constitutionalists so we, the people, can support them. As our movement grows, it'll be increasingly difficult to remember which factions are loyal to the US Constitution versus which factions are loyal to the party.

There is also this group that is tracking candidates that support the constitution. I don't know how good this group is or what other options there are, but they have a fairly extensive listing of candidates that support the constitution.
