Father's Day V-I-C-T-O-R-Y In V-i-r-g-i-n-i-a For Dr. Ron Paul!

The Virginia state convention was interesting to say the least.

Here are some highlights:

When I was washing my hands in the restroom, an old man walked by and, seeing the Ron Paul 2012 BUMPERsticker on my the back of my sportcoat, he proceeded to say the following...(in the most drawling, backwoods drawl from the farthest 'holler'):

"You know if Ron Paul is PREH-si-dent...then the MUHS-lims are gonna get a nuke, and whaddaya GAWN-na do then?"

My reply to him was just: "What???" Then I walked away smiling.

Other highlights...boring speech after speech from Senator George Allen (yawn!) and even our own attorney general (he did pretty well but he was still trying to force the meme "there is only one choice in November"....etc etc.)

I did enjoy the overarching theme of "getting the government off the people's backs" that you heard time and time again. The Liberty movement is indeed transforming things from the inside out. I was satisfied at all the deference to 'getting the government out of our business' and to 'personal liberty' and 'freedom' I heard in all the candidates speeches. It was equally satisfying the number of candidates who gave at least passing deference to Dr. Paul, in their brochures.

The Chair of the Republican Party of Virginia's speech was really motivating, as he took time to "welcome the Libertarians, the Independents, and the Ron Paul supporters"...making it clear that they need us! So that was nice.

Then some fraud took place...as the Warren County delegation was disqualified, as they did not file on time. [The real story was that the Warren County chair ...apparently refused to file the Warren County delegates...because they were supporters of Dr. Paul. If that is the case, I do hope they will press charges as that is blatant election fraud...not too dissimilar to my own delegate application being thrown in the trash at the Norfolk mass meeting of delegates.]

And had those Warren County delegates been properly seated, then the Liberty movement would have had just enough votes to unseat the reigning statist committeewoman. The mandate was, though, she almost lost, and thus she now realizes that the Liberty "barbarians" are now at the gates! :-)

On a disappointing note, I was unimpressed with the turnout of delegates from Norfolk, where we helped clean house in the 3rd District Convention. LESSON to ALL DELEGATES: GO TO YOUR STATE CONVENTION, PLEASE!!

To end on a high note: The Republican Party of Virginia adopted a set of about 11 Resolutions, ones which that might as well been taken from Dr. Paul's playbook: Among theses are, among many others:
- condemning sections 1021 & 1022 of the NDAA
- daring the Feds that they'd better not send drones over Virginia skies
- formally declaring communism and socialism as failed and fraudulent philosophies
(and many others...when I get them I will post them in their entirety).

All in all the theme at the convention was DON'T TREAD ON ME...and the Attorney General even had the Gadsden flags draped around his table.

Oh yeah...and one other thing: Virginia just sent 25 Ron Paul supporters (24 +1 stealth) out of 49 delegates to the National Convention...so an effective (though not officially recognizable by the GOP of course) MAJORITY.

For all the blah blah blah at the Convention, I am glad I went, and it is true...the Republican party is being transformed from the inside out.

FOR LADY LIBERTY!!!
