The Republican National Party is a PRIVATE Club. So they can do WHATEVER they want, right? Not...so...FAST!

Now that I have gotten your attention with the title... (grin)

The oft-repeated meme about you know..."RNC...private club....not subject to laws"...and other nonsense...is certainly a clever straw man that they can try to hide behind.

But watch out...that straw man is about to be vaporized by the white-hot heat of the TRUTH...and that is:

THE RULE OF LAW IS EVERYWHERE AND AT ALL TIMES.

Its that simple.

Let's say I own a private bank...not publicly traded, and I commit fraud...then I commit a crime...and a felony at that.

Let's say I have a private charity...and commit fraud....then I commit a crime, and a felony at that..

Well let's say we have this "private" "club" that is responsible for electing an officer for PUBLIC office, not to mention for the most powerful position on the planet, the president of the United States...and this "private club"...willfully uses intimidation, coercion, threats, tampering of documents & ballot boxes, lies, corruption, and of course FRAUD of every type...against voting citizens....then they TRAMPLE the law....and commit multiple, MULTIPLE CRIMES (and felonies at that)...with a widespread, massive assault on individuals and their personal liberties and their NATURAL RIGHT to vote...and on the Rule of Law itself.

FRAUD....is FRAUD....is FRAUD....is FRAUD.

Last time I checked, this is not Germany in the 1930s or Italy in the 1920s.

This is the United States of America, for God’s sakes! We are freeborn, natural-right-bearing, good, honest, liberty-loving, flag-waving, gun-toting, property-owning, happiness-pursuing, Americans.

And we ain’t talking about your child’s school’s P.T.A. elections or elections to the board at your local rotary club.

NO! This is the election process of the most powerful PUBLIC office in the world, that of the president.

RNC…"private club"…my rear end!

Hey RNC Establishment: DO NOT THINK that we are going to let you hide behind that meme, that pathetic straw man argument, and that excuse to commit crimes against voting citizens, for ONE SECOND LONGER.

(Not an attorney here...but I have a degree in Common Sense. If you need legal advice, then please seek it).

ATTENTION: THE RULE OF LAW IS EVERYWHERE AND AT ALL TIMES!!!

Period. End of discussion.

CHARGE!!!

;-) Oh, and BTW...Ron Paul 2012.

Please go back and read the law....

It is much more broad than your interpretation...and with good reason.

Because the lawmakers of this federal election code (for once being on point)...are showing that any attempt of force or coercion in terms of INTERFERING WITH THE NATURAL RIGHTS OF PEOPLE TO VOTE (not MERELY "stopping" as you say)...is also a violation of the law.

And Central Committees, IF their bylaws and rules violate the Federal Law...and more importantly, Natural Law, then those rules and bylaws are null and void.

And if what the Central Committees "took an oath to uphold" was in violation of Federal Law....or more importantly, Natural Law....or more importantly still, that it is simply immoral from the start...then the Central Committee's "oath" and "integrity" is suspect in the first place.

The Legal Positivism argument is a failed one...and thankfully so, because their world is a world which (to quote Roark I think from Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead) "I do not choose to live."

Federal election codes do not vet candidates

they apply to the general public for the primary and general elections, which present canidates and issues that have been vetted by central committees and their delegates. Ron Paul's delegate stratigy took advatage of all those empty seats, that he was hoping we would fill.

What is suspect, like trolls on Daily Paul, are GOP trolls who have never gone to a central committee meeting and have no idea how or why they operate.

To me, you are mixing apples and oranges.

sharkhearted's picture

Apples and oranges...are both fruit.

Fruit, vegetables, people, concrete, atoms, asteroids, and Central Committees, not to mention the universe itself...

...is/are ALL subject to Natural Law.

The rule of law is everywhere and at all times. No one, and nothing, is immune to it.

And the Federal Law (in this rare case) is best reflective of the Natural Law. (Can't believe I am taking up for the federal government...but heck...in a case by case scenario...truth is truth).

Eggplant, peppers, tomatos, pumkins and zuchinni are fruit too

Definition of fruit is seed bearing.

So what's a seedless watermelon?

A vegetable?

Please tell me...what is your motivation here...and why do you have so many problems accepting that you have been sold a Legal Positivism bill of goods?

My motivation

Respect

If you do not RESPECT a political Party YOU joined, then why di yiu expect them to RESPECT you, when your joining isn't that you ever RESPECTED them?

sharkhearted's picture

Huh?

You statements are becoming more intelligible with time.

I could care less if the republican party sinks or swims. I happen to be a member. And I quote unquote "respect" them.

However...they are not above the law, and are subject to all the laws that the rest of us are.

Grasp that part of the logic...and you will be freed from your legal positivist slavery.

I think of it as an approach, not a theory.

How can one better respect someone than to leave them free, free even from expectations.

I take people at face value, and sometimes they have more than one face they show.

Then again they may be one of those people that likes being agreeable just to be agreeable.

When candidates come give their speech to the local committee, just being there nodding one way or another might be your one say. It may be enough, if one has earned the trust of others. That takes time and respect.

Free includes debt-free!

That a fact

I came into my Central Committee with all my enthusiam for RON PAUL. Scared the bejeezus out of them and they recoiled, shunned me, wouldn't help me in any way, shape of form. But I didn't stop coming, and with each meeting I learned a thing a three, and it got to the point I attended more meetings than anyone but the Chair. I keep a record of who attended how many meetings, and began asking their their seats, to one pint the chair threatened to resign.

Meanwhile, this election, I petitioned as a Ron paul Republican, wrote letters to the Editor, qualified and wound up not only winning my seat by default, since no one ran against me, but the appointed me 7 moths earlier than my elected seat begins.

I have spoken up on issues and candidaites and they have come to respect me, and even like me, because we ll don;'t agree on every issue or candidaite. I have volunteered to chair committees and write emails asking to raise funds and now they have setting me up to get training as a future candidate on a higher level. I start my training in August.

The only refret I have is not comming into the GOP sooner. I am most grateful to Ron Paul who inspired me and is my mentor. While I am not Ron Paul, I work at delivering his message in freedom and restoring constitutional government.

I wish we all did that. THAT would have been a great rEVOLution.

You are the one

You are not above the law and ignorance is no excuse.

If Wal-Mart

put out a "rule" that said if they mismatch the price of an item accidentally overcharging you, you will get it for free; they'd have to follow that rule, otherwise breaking their own "rule" is fraud..

a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat

I want to get a little

I want to get a little deeper.....

The "public" hasn't been frauded, I don't think... GOP members have been.

The "public" doesn't rely on the GOP for a reliable and factual nominee. They can chose any other party's nominee or an individual of no party. (Yes, that's not gonna happen but legally, it can.)

However, a GOP member does rely on the GOP to factually nominate a person. I believe GOP members could have a case, or persons who voted for a GOP candidate in non-partisan states.

This is just what I think.... I could be wrong.

You are correct

The JOB of a central committee is to VET candidates and issues. That is why Ron Paul said we could CHANGE the GOP by getting seated.

He told the TRUTH, the ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

I agree.

Still, it's not for everybody.

But there is no way to know without trying it out. It's our republican form of government at work.

If one can go and make the process better by one then ...

Legal definition of a private club by Free Online Law Dictionary

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Private+club

"Almost every organization that provides food, drink, lodging, or entertainment must obey the federal Civil Rights laws and any applicable state statutes. The federal laws are designed to protect all people from interference with their right to get a job or education, participate in government, and enjoy public accommodations.

Private membership clubs are exempted from these civil rights laws in order to preserve their rights to privacy and freedom of association. In attempting to determine whether an organization genuinely deserves private club status, courts have considered a number of factors, including the club's criteria for admission, membership fees, membership control over the

organization's operations, and use of facilities by nonmembers. Because the courts have applied these factors on a case-by-case basis, the results have been inconsistent. For example, recreational sports clubs such as golf, tennis, fishing and hunting, private dining, and swimming clubs have generally been found to provide public accommodations. Fraternal orders and lodges have proven to be more difficult to categorize. In four decisions dealing with these types of organizations, the Supreme Court narrowed the definition of freedom of association and upheld the constitutionality of state statutes designed to keep private clubs from discriminating."

"The world is a dynamic mess of jiggling things, if you look at it right." - Richard Feynman

GOP is not a private club and is not pretending to be

The GOP has By-Laws registered with the Secretary of State to VET candidates and issues. That is their JOB. To get on a committee one should be elected by petitioning for ballot access, but one can be appointed to an empty seat. Delegates usually come from central committees, and central committees raise funs to attend conventions and network, learn about new laws, bills, acts, propositions, measures, taxes, candidates and have a good time, of course.

I know our District Chair because he was the County Chair 08

Our Executive Committee is on the County level, in this county.

These are all thing we talk about.

Free includes debt-free!

If the law does not apply in the RNC

"Private" club, does that mean that they can legally shoot anyone they don't like?

Maybe I shouldn't point that out to them, they may be stupid enough to try it!

Exactly

And what about the discrimination laws against private cubs...like golf courses etc. Are not the Ron Paul supporters being discriminated against because of their choice of nominee?

Truth is truth and their is no statute of limitations against fraud either.

They think they can do whatever they want......and I feel it needs to stop now. That goes for the Democrates too!

It not now when?

As a paid in member of the County GOP, I am an insider.

One of the problems the County GOP had with one elected National Alternate, is why wasn't he even a member.

The general sense was Why should we work for him when so many who have worked hard for us for local candidates, could have been selected.

Fair Beef?

Yes, fraud is fraud.

Free includes debt-free!

Looking at it like an insider might.

Looking at it as an insider, it's not a private club, but my "club".

Some support their local club with donations, some with labor and effort; Literature drops, phone banking, GOTV.

Outsiders are suspect. New members are unproven. Not unlike here on DP, "Oh a member for 2 days, yata yata yata."

Many I have met at party meetings I've attended reject fraud or cheating. Fraud is fraud.

Even though some may not be Ron Paul supporters, I suspect there is some sympathy regarding broken joints and bones and improperly run Conventions.

They (rank and file) are not necessarily against us. They need us to win, and we can help with Ron Paul as the Nominee.

Got your email. Is this at all clearer?
