Governor Becomes President of PurdueSubmitted by boileruphammerdown14 on Thu, 06/21/2012 - 16:40
This is something to make your blood boil here in Indiana, especially for those Boilermakers out there. "My Man Mitch" is the new President of Purdue...voted in by the Board of Trustees. 8 of the 10 Trustees were appointed by Mitch Daniels, including 3 just last week. If this doesn't scream cronyism, then I don't know what does.
The Mitch Daniels administration has done all but completely ruin the public education system in Indiana during his tenure. Way too many conflicts of interests to even name by him accepting this position but remaining Governor until the end of the year.
I've heard from a couple people that the Purdue Board of Trustees violated their bylaws by nominating and voting in Gov. Daniels. I plan on reading the bylaws and sending a professionally written letter to the Trustees soon regarding this decision (in which the majority are up in arms about). It'd be great if many of you fellow Boilermakers could do the same to show our numbers. Their dog-and-pony show this morning made me ill...physically. Nevertheless, I'm extremely disappointed and ashamed to call myself a Boilermaker after today. However, I can't wait to get back to campus and ask him how Bilderberg went this year!
