The R3volution and the Libertarian Party needs to COMMUNICATE and COORDINATESubmitted by BigZ85020 on Fri, 06/22/2012 - 16:50
Instead of fighting with the Gary Johnson campaign and the LP, how about we work with them to gain leverage on the GOP, so we can force them to accept our positions. When someone in our movement wins a GOP Primary the Libertarian Party should refrain from fielding a candidate. When the Republican nominee is highly objectionable, the Libertarian Party needs to run the best candidate possible. We share the same values. We should be working towards the same goals. If we demonstrate to the GOP that we will keep them from winning if they're not libertarian enough then it puts pressure on them to change their positions, and as much as the GOP insiders probably hate how we're taking over their party, We need to keep the threat that we may all decide to jump ship to the Libertarian Party in their minds, hanging over them like a Sword of Damacles. What happens to the GOP's political base if their fastest growing, most vocal, and most appealing faction to independents suddenly jumps ship. I promise you anyone within the GOP establishment who cares about winning elections doesn't want to find out.
