Rand Paul : Being Groomed As The Next Ronald Reagan

Rand Paul : Being Groomed As The Next Ronald Reagan

FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 2012

Various libertarians and Ron Paul supporters predictably were upset when Rand Paul made his announcement that he is supporting the presumptive Republican nominee for President, Mitt Romney. Despite the fact that there were strong signs that Rand was not Ron philosophically, and apparently Rand had even stated he would support whoever the ultimate Republican nominee was, the reaction by many was frustration and anger.

Many rightly wondered about the backstory. In politics, everything is a deal. What was the reason for Rand’s endorsement? Of course, somewhere in there, it was suspected, was a trade.

Reagan

ran on a nice platform, that's it. After he won Bush Sr. took over Reagan's presidency and Reagan became just another Big Government, Big spending globalist RINO....Yup, Sounds exactly like Rand...

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
Samuel Adams

I hope not. Reagan was a big spending Republican.

It's true that he cut taxes, but he also increased spending. He didn't cut anything. Iran-contra, and the Beirut Marine Bombing occurred on his watch also. None of the Depts. were eliminated or even reduced in size. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0101271.html
These issues along with Ed Meese (the sleaze factor) shows that Reagan is not the person to groom anyone after especially Rand Paul, IMO.

The big question that remains

The big question that remains to be answered is just how much of a neocon / fundamentalist conservative / liberty movement conservative coalition Rand can build.

That was Reagan's winning coalition. It's probably doable again, although, like the last time, it won't include me and many other hard core libertarians.

Ronald Reagan's aren't grown

Ronald Reagan's aren't grown in a test tube. He's no Ronald Reagan and never will be.

Ronald Reagan created himself.

Regan looked good and sounded good

But he was a rotten as the next guy. Same old biz guns for drugs and bank money laundering, he just had the holliwood twist to it a better acter. He did not do one thing to expose or end the counterfit compounding debt foisted upon his nation during his tenure as potis. The same criminal human owners of the private federal reserve bank corporation bought and paid for Reagan, he danced very nice as a puppet, still most today think he was a great guy. Unbelievable. Its real basic, sovereign money can not be created by private individuals out of thin air digitized at no cost then translated to the WHIP, the false compounding national debt. False debt used to justify immoral extorted theft called tax used as a control mechanism to enslave. Any type of immoral behavior can be justifyed by claims of false debt. The national debt is a claim of false debt. Its like borrowing thin air at a compounding rate, when you have free air all around you, thats insane.

True, but what made Reagan so

True, but what made Reagan so great as a person was his ability to inspire people on a HUGE scale.

Remember, at the time, the USSR was our mortal enemy. When you have a powerful country whos stated goal is to conquer and enslave the entire world, you don't really have the luxury of being a non-aggressionist, passivist President. Ronald Reagan was flawed, looking in a rearview mirror, but he did what was necessary to help collapse the USSR by proving to them the hard way that capitalism is stronger than communism. Ronald Reagan helped liberate Eastern Europe. Jimmy Carter couldn't do what Reagan if he had had 16 years to do it.

Being able to lead is a skill

The pied pipper lead them right off a cliff. Remember USSR was just another fake Rothschild paradigm to perpetuate their counterfit central bank skam. Look what you say is exactly how the rest of humanity views those in control of the USA, Stated goal is to conquer and enslave the entire world, of cource they use the euphanism, Democracy. Unfortunatly democracy is just one more euphanism for Dictatorship.

I have decided anytime I see the name Rand, Judas

I will just auto down vote dont even take the time to read them, I suspect that Rand and his NWO bankgangster handlers are trying to coop the liberty movement here at this site by continual posting his name up. AUTO DOWN VOTE FOR RAND> end of story.

I hope you're wrong and that

I hope you're wrong and that Rand is just ignorant of the impact of the bankocracy. Many free-market supporters just lump banks in with "business" and support them in knee-jerk fashion.

Admittedly, given that his father entered politics for this very reason, one would expect Rand to be a bit more sophisticated in his understanding of the corruption of the fiat money system, but maybe he just isn't?

I'd love to see someone interview Rand and query him, as Wenzel did Gary Johnson, about how much Mises, Hayek or Rothbard he's read.

We have a little time to watch

Rand in action before our gavel falls.

I still have hope for him.

Rand Paul doesn't have the charisma of Ronald Reagan or Ron Paul

Although I like Rand Paul and hope that he has a successful political career, I have seen him speaking, and do not believe he has enough charisma to run a successful Presidential campaign. Ronald Reagan had lots of charisma. Ron Paul has a certain likeability about him, and a bucketful of charisma as well. The Rand that I have seen doesn't have enough of a light-hearted side to him. And I do not think charisma can be "groomed" into a person.

Ron Paul has close to zero

Ron Paul has close to zero charisma, he just has good ideas for the most part. I find him less charismatic than Gary Johnson and Gary isn't a charisma champion either.

Ron Paul doesn't have charisma.

And he's a mediocre public speaker at best.

Anyone not familiar with him or who doesn't care about liberty sees him as they would some boring college professor.

We like him because of his message, so his personality grows on us.

Put Ron Paul's message into someone with real salesman-like charisma, then you'll have something. The public votes for salesman personalities, which Ron Paul doesn't have. I think Rand has it more so.

RAND PAUL 2016.

I couldn't disagree with you

I couldn't disagree with you more. Your definition of "charisma" as it applies to a real estate salesman (or used car salesman) is pure folly and a misunderstanding of what "charisma" is. If you're looking for image then Washington and Hollywood is full of wanna be's that should fit your pick. If you're looking for experience, genuineness, integrity, wisdom and real charisma without make-up, then Ron Paul is your man. I doubt a trained "charisma" seeking candidate will attract more loyalty and truth seekers than Ron Paul. Obama was "charismatic" and look what a disaster in judgment that was.

Charisma is important to a Presidential candidate...

... but, then again, George H. W. Bush managed to become President. Charisma is a factor, but not the only factor.

I still like Rand, just not

I still like Rand, just not very happy with him at the moment.

I think everyone anticipated

I think everyone anticipated that Rand would be a younger version of his dad. We have now all learned that he is NOT. He will compromise (contrary to his stirring campaign speech on 'compromise') and play the game. Rand is in it for a career, not as a statesman offering ideals and a philosophy of government, but as an office holder who will garner votes as needed. The disappointment is ours who mistakenly idealized him.

Ditto on the sentiment. Right now, Rand got a "black eye" from

the Revolution for his capitulation to Mittens...albeit, I see the endorsement as half-hearted and "tongue-in-cheek" anyways.

The "black eye" will heal in time, but for how long that I do not know. As the Good Dr and Father to Rand, Ron with his magnanimity...will forgive his son. To me in the end, it's between them Father & Son. Let them sort it out.

Thank you, sovereignjanice...

... It seems that, when it comes to Rand Paul, too many DP'ers cannot see past the current "tantrum" phase that they are in. Later, most of them will come around.

randy byeee

Bye bye rand........
= everyone waves goodbye to him.

I think that the linked article unfairly compares Rand to Reagan

... While Reagan talked a great small-government game, Rand has already walked the walk much better than Reagan ever did.

A Constitutional, Christian conservative who voted for Ron and stands with Rand

Is this joke? Rand is a terrible actor.

and he just voted NO on GMO labeling. Rand is just another republican.

So was Reagan.

So was Reagan.
