Balkans continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the US

Notice--Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to the Western Balkans

Because the actions of persons threatening the peace and international stabilization efforts in the Western Balkans continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, the national emergency declared on June 26, 2001, and the measures adopted on that date and thereafter to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond June 26, 2012. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency with respect to the Western Balkans.

This notice shall be published in the Federal Register and transmitted to the Congress.

US-NATO Globalism

From the Balkans to Central Asia: U.S.-NATO Prepare for New Cold War

"The ever more extensive breakup of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, and the former Soviet Union and former Yugoslavia, correlated with the development of NATO as an expansionist, aggressive and bellicose regional and global military force.

Every one of the 21 former Soviet and Yugoslav federal republics is now either a full member of NATO or engaged in a partnership program. Thirteen of them have troops serving under NATO command in Afghanistan.

Two recent announcements demonstrate the constantly increasing penetration and domination of the area that begins in Slovenia and ends in Azerbaijan, a swathe of land that on its eastern extreme borders Russia to its north and Iran to its south.

Recently NATO's Allied Command Operations website announced the resumption of what had been annual military exercises employed to integrate partners in the Balkans, the former Soviet Union, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf."

What many people don't seem to realize is that

one of the (multiple ways) the president is able to constantly do things that are clearly unconstitutional is by making sure that the US is ALWAYS under a declared "National State of Emergency".

When the United States in operating in a "National State of Emergency" the power of the president is omnipotent. If you will do the research, the US has been operating in a "National State of Emergency" in some way, shape, or form every single day since the beginning of WWII and probably before that.

not only do these "States of Emergency" give the president dictitorial powers, it also allows the government to use money bugeted specifically for a particular program to be used however the hell they want. On top of being able to use any funds for anything, under a "State of Emergency" the accounting of the funds are not required to be documented or "justified" according to the rules that are required under normal operating procedures.

Think about this everytime there is a bad storm anywhere in the country. You will begin to notice that the government is very quick to declare disasters and/or other forms of "emergencies". There is a very good reason why they are so quick to make offical declarations...and beleive me, it's not out of their concern for us or the people in the striken area. It's our government being self serving...serving themselves to the public purse...

The Balkan boogeyman is not very scary after living through

the "threat" of nuclear annihiliation by the Commies.

Bull shit!

Please take your warmongering elsewhere.

Paul ante portas.

good grief--

and so vague--

The only threat to America is from the corporatists and the uneducated American 'public'--

and the MSM and people like Obama (and Romney, etc.)

Jeeves in the Springtime by P.G. Wodehouse

December 1921

"'Morning, Jeeves," I said.

"Good morning, sir," said Jeeves.

He put the good old cup of tea softly on the table by my bed, and I took a refreshing sip. Just right, as usual. Not too hot, not too sweet, not too weak, not too strong, not too much milk, and not a drop spilled in the saucer. A most amazing cove, Jeeves. So dashed competent in every respect. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I mean to say, take just one small instance. Every other valet I've ever had used to barge into my room in the morning while I was still asleep, causing much misery; but Jeeves seems to know when I'm awake by a sort of telepathy. He always floats in with the cup exactly two minutes after I come to life. Makes a deuce of a lot of difference to a fellow's day.

"How's the weather, Jeeves?"

"Exceptionally clement, sir."

"Anything in the papers?"

"Some slight friction threatening in the Balkans, sir. Otherwise, nothing."

good job--

the British empire did start the mess, I suppose--

and Wooster would know--

I find it interesting how much of the British literature from that time period betrays how malignant the empire really was--
